3. Revelations

Venelana was petrified as she gazed into those familiar violet orbs.

There was a familiar sinking sensation in the back of her mind. She gazed at the child who seemed barely 3 years old who was clinging to her thighs while gazing at her with a curious and innocent gaze.

When gazing at the child Venelana felt her heart constrict as she felt her body trembling a little.

Hearing the child's words Venelana gazed at him who seemed to be looking at her sadly while tears were streaming down his face.

Venelana was confused as she felt the wetness on her face, as she touched her face to make sure. Yes… she was crying.

Venelana didn't know how long it had been since she last shed tears.

Maybe when her mother passed away or maybe when her best friend Celestina was brutally raped and killed in front of her by her own allies.

Grayfia had received a summons from her Lady to meet up. Grayfia had already collected a lot of data that could be used for evidence or blackmail.

She had rescued a bunch of children and sent them to the human world via teleportation with the help of her familiar, her Lady did have a base of operation there.

Grayfia truly was a little disgusted, if The Great King Faction was like this then she could only imagine how much worse the Old Satan Faction was.

Concluding her thoughts Grayfia reached a reinforced chamber which was covered in different runes, surprisingly most of them were meant to act from the inside which means they were easily disabled from the outside.

When the doors opened Grayfia saw her Master and was about to call out to her but she was stunned by the sight in front of her. Her lady was hugging a small child and playing with it in her arms, and the genuine smile on her face made Grayfia feel a little satisfied.

Although her lady did showcase happiness from time to time, Grayfia couldn't help but feel that it wasn't genuine. It has been a long time since she saw this level of excitement from her. It seemed like Venelana was alive...

Suddenly as if noticing her arrival two pairs of identical violet eyes focused on her, Grayfia felt a little awkward by this situation as she felt like she had interrupted something.

But this was enemy territory and they couldn't loiter around anymore. Grayfia comforted herself because she was a perfect maid and a perfect maid always does what is best for their master...

"My Lady This..." Grayfia didn't know what to say as she gazed at Venelana who told her about everything that happened and all things she found out on her side.

From her investigation she also uncovered things about 'Subject Irregular' and she was anxious to go to Venelana immediately thus she hastily completed her investigation while making sure she did everything right.

But who would have thought her master would have already made contact with 'Irregular' and it was far from the abomination she thought it to be.

In the end, it turned out to be a cute child.

"My lady, does the Young Lord have a name?" Grayfia asked a little confusedly. They surely should have named him or did they not even consider giving him a name and viewed him as a mere lab rat?

Hearing Grayfia's words Venelana was a little dazed as she stared at her son, although deep down she knew how he was treated and what kind of torment he had to go through at such a young age.

The rational part of her said it was not her fault, but emotions were never defined by rationality. She gazed into those adorable eyes which were gazing at her constantly and a happy smile formed on her face.

She can't change the past, but she can move towards the future.

Grayfia and Venelana were preparing to leave this facility as they had got everything they needed and before leaving they decided to incinerate this place.

Venelana held Vivian in her arms as she gazed at the burning flames in front of her.

"Grayfia we-" Venelana was planning on telling Grayfia to prepare a teleportation spell but she stopped her words as she stiffened a little as she felt a huge pressure.

Venelana could feel it, A very strong entity was moving towards their direction and by seeing Grayfia's serious face then she felt it too.

And the worst part was she felt the space around a few kilometres being locked. Venelana's expression was a bit grim, she could fight the unknown being but Vivian was a problem...

*ROAR!!*

With a burst of wind, a gigantic figure was revealed in front of them.

And Venelana understood what they were dealing with in an instant.

'A Dragon!'
