Chapter 1

"Hey thanks for getting that sticky note off of me, it's a weird time for someone to play that kind of prank."

The brown-haired youth clad in heavy armor said as he passed a grilled fish on a stick to a tank-top wearing youth. They quickly grabbed the fish and devour it, stick and all, before replying, "Anyone would of done the same uh Sir Paladin. But I should be the one thanking you. You are the one who is feeding me and even offered to pay for the entry fees."

"Just call me Leo, and as a Paladin my armor is a symbol to the masses so I must be pristine at all times." Leo said as he gave a weird smile to how hungry the other person was. Leo's watch then started to make a beeping noise. "It is about time for the guards to start letting people in so lets put out the campfire so we can get in line."

After waiting three hours to get through all the entry procedures, the two were about to go on different paths when Leo gave the same weird smile from earlier. "So what do you plan on doing from now on?"

The tank-topped youth smiled and scratched the back of their head, "Try to find anyone job that is hiring, I do not want to starve again haha." Leo than reached into his wallet and pulled out all the cash that he had and passed it over. "Well I have a friend who runs a guild hall so if you want, take this money and get you some armor and weapons. Don't worry if you have the skills or not cause the guild hall uses a spirit ascending entry. So besides the hour of recommend bed rest if you die, there is not any real harm to having that job and you can just pay me back in installments, since I understand how expensive magic enhanced weapons can be."

"Sure that sounds great! Oh and by the way my name is-"

Before they could finish saying their name someone ended up knocking them to the ground.

"Ah! I am so sorry, I was in a rush and did not see you there. My name is Mei." She reached down to help the tank-topped youth up. "It's fine, but if you don't mind me asking why the rush?" Mei reached in her purse and pulled out a business card. "I used up all my materials making some armor, so I applied yesterday for a shop and I just finished all the paperwork for my stall and now I need to set up my goods for display. *sigh* But I don't have enough credits to hire anyone so it is going to take all business day to get it all set up."

Leo grinned and passed a map over to the tank-topped youth, "Just go to the address I circled tomorrow morning. I will go and talk to my friend to get you a place to sleep and set up all the registration for your guild pass." Leo then leaned in and whispered, "If you help her you might get to save some money on armor and spend the rest on getting a better weapon."

They nodded their head, "If you would like my help I would love to be of use. I needed directions to the market anyways." Mei smiled "Thanks, follow me."

After what felt like hours they finally reached Mei's stall. They preceded to start to unpack and organize the armor on racks and shelf's, when the last product was on put on the rack the sun has already set." The market area will be closed in a hour, I did not think it would take this long, as an apology I will sell you a set for half off." Mei stated with a guilty look. "Thanks and don't worry, helping others out is kind of a hobby I have developed as of late. Anyways I noticed most of your armors seemed to look like normal clothes. Is it because they are made with magical threads?"

Mei smiled then replied, "It is not just the threads and materials that I used that are magical. I also have comprehended enough laws to reach G1 in Law Of Seamstress. So the clothes I make are stronger than some heavy armors."

The tank-topped youth looked puzzled and asked, "Laws?" Now it was time for Mei to look confused. "Through passing 'Trials' us cultivators gain Laws and the more Laws we gain, the stronger or better our skills become. Every 100 Laws in a subject we gain fuse together to increase the grade of the subject. 0-99 is considered G0 while 100-199 Laws is G1. 900-999 is G9 then after forming 1000 laws a qualitative change occurs and you are labeled as F0. There is currently 10 phases with corresponding letters, the last four being A, S, SS, and SSS. Then once you have 10,000 you ascend to the next level of being. But I heard rumors that the power of Laws will be shifted around and changed. But, back on topic, as you are a G0 without any Laws you can only have weapons and armor that are of G0 quality. My best G0 is this set right here."

Mei pulled out a hoodie , a orange shirt, skinny jeans and combat boots "This set will allow you to block a peak G1 attack once a day and it comes with a auto repair and auto clean." "Sounds good, I will buy it." After paying and checking the time a frown appeared on the face of the unnamed youth." Is there a weapon store nearby? It is about 30 minutes before closing and I will be lucky if they are not already all closed." Mei pulled out her phone and said "Do you know what kind of monsters you will be fighting? It is best to know beforehand so you can get the best recommended weapon choice." The unnamed youth had a blank face. "I have no idea, but I saved money thanks to you so using a strong weapon shouldn't be a negative for me since I should be able to afford it." Mei pondered for a bit while searching for a store. "Huh, there is a store down the alleyway, three stores that way, that is rated 5 star for service and it says they never close early."

While running out the store the unnamed youth yelled out, " Thanks Mei, I really appreciate it!" Mei smiled, " No problem- oh they are already gone. " Mei started to lock down the stall for the night when she thought about sending a friend request to her first customer. Then she suddenly stopped and realize a glaring problem . Facepalming herself while whispering to herself out loud " I never asked for their name.

At the end of the alley instead of a store a old man was sitting on the ground with a tarp above his head with twenty big cases stacked on both sides of the alley . A middle age man was making a bet with the old man. "If you can actually convince the next customer who comes here tonight to spend all of his or her money on this crappy shotgunners case I'll buy the other nineteen cases for twice the market price." The old man made a disgruntled face and said "This close to closing time I would have to be daft to make such a bet. No one is willing to walk down this way in the night. But if you raised it to three times I might be tempted." "Haha that is a deal old man!" Then a shit eating grin appeared on the old mans face." Hello dear customer! You are my 10,000th customer since I set up here and I have the best deal for you." The middle age man thought the old guy has finally lost it and before he could berate him, he heard a voice from behind. " With it being so late sir I am just happy you will still do business with me. Sorry for the inconvenience."

Hearing how polite the youth in the alley was the old man almost felt bad for how big he was about to rip him off. Almost. "For $7,500 you can get this shotgunner kit. It comes with a magic 12 gauge shotgun, and the materials to make 10,000 shells for it." Hearing how 'cheap' it was made the youth happy. They were originally given $10,000 dollars from Leo and spent $2,500 for the armor. So they had just enough. "Deal!" after handing over the money and buying the kit the youth walked and left the alley. When they finally reached the main road, blood started to leak out of their nose and they almost passed out. When they turned around they realized the alley was bricked up and the bricks did not look new. "What just happened?"

After paying for the cases the middle aged man said with anger in his voice. "Really using a A7 Law of Merchant on a G0 new to the city, how depraved can you get?" The old man looked at all the cash he received and smirked. "It is their fault for being weak, at least I did not make them give me a review like the rest." Even though the youth did not have a phone, the old man thought to himself.
