CHAPTER 1 : INTO THE UNIVERSITY

Alicia stirred from her sleep on her student bed, disturbed by the warm rays of the sun filtering through the curtains,her long hair sprawled messily on the bed as she languidly stretched her body, savouring the last moment of comfort before embarking on a new journey.

She counted 1-3 before her lashes fluttered open to reveal irises as vibrant and alluring as the sea,her sea green eyes glistened in the soft light of dawn,casting a spell of enchantment all over the room. As her gaze focused on the world around her,the beauty of her surroundings seemed to pale in comparison to her captivating visage.

As soon as her sleepy mind got clearer,she jumped out of the bed in delight,today marked the beginning of her university life and she felt a mix of excitement and nervousness coursing through her veins. She swiftly rose from her bed,her feet padding Softly on the carpeted floor as she prepared to step into the university and embark on this new phase of life.

Still in her pyjamas,she walked towards her door and just as she was about to handle the door knob,it opened from the other side and her mother Mrs Melissa came in,as soon as their eyes met,the woman smiled at her lovely daughter.

"Good morning mum" Alicia greeted with her soft delicate voice

"Good morning sweetie" the woman replied caressing her hair " I was just about to come wake you up,go get ready,the cab would be here soon and you know you have to be there in time"

"Ok mum" Alicia nodded before she rushed to go wash her mouth,all the while her heart beating very fast in excitement.

Alicia Lawson was the second daughter of Mr and Mrs Lawson,she had just turned 18,her elder sister 22 and her younger sister had just turned 10. They lived a quiet and peaceful middle class life in their three bedroom apartment and they were quite contented but the only pain that had refused to die in their hearts was the fact that their father had abadoned them for another woman all because Alicia's mother couldn't bear him a male child.

It's been about 8 years now since their father left them and it hasn't been easy for Mrs Melissa shuddering all the responsibilities of taking care of her three daughters alone without the help of family support. She even had to take into many odd jobs to survive even half time babysitting as a Nanny,to make ends meet.

Clara the first born had just gotten a modelling job after completing higher education in which they paid her for and although the money wasn't that attractive because it was a small upcoming brand but still Clara found a way to contribute and support her family financially in the very little way she could.

Alicia after taking the entrance examination last year had just gotten admitted into the prestigious Montgomery University,one of the biggest and most prominent Universities in the country. Alicia never a day dreamt that she would ever attend such a school because of her family's financial state,infact it was a miracle that Mrs Melissa was able to sponsor Clara's university fees for four long years and Clara had just graduated about 1o months ago,if she were to go in now , wouldn't it take a huge toll on her mom??

But as God would have it,they happened to run into Mr Richardson,a former high school mate of her mother,the man seemed very rich and successful too and he also happened to have once had interest in Mrs Melissa back in high school.

As they discussed,the man picked interest in Alicia and he noticed she seemed very brilliant,they talked until they got to her education matters and why she wasn't preparing for school yet,Mrs Melissa explained their situation and one thing led to another and he urged Alicia to take the entrance examination and promised to fund her fees and not just that,he wanted her to go to the great Montgomery University which the fees were twice higher than the other universities.

Mr Richardson was greatly appreciated by Alicia and her mother who cried tears of joy,she had been thinking it's been almost a year now since Alicia finished high school and she had no idea on how she was gonna raise funds for her to take the entrance examination and then her fees. The matter gave her sleepless nights as she was even yet to pay back some of the loan that she had borrowed for Clara's fees,she certainly couldn't borrow again and start accumulating large debts on her head,hence,when the offer came,her joy knew no doubts as she would forever be greatful to Mr Richardson. Well Alicia took the entrance examination and luckily she was able to beat the cut off mark,all her registrations and clearance had been done and today,she had to resume.

Back to the present,Mrs Melissa watched as her beautiful 18 year old daughter washed her mouth in excitement and a smile couldn't help but creep on her lips. Today her daughter was stepping into another phase of life and she really hoped and prayed that she had prepared her enough for this journey.

Mrs Melissa had for long been really over protective of her second daughter Alicia, because of all her daughter's she was the meekest and most vulnerable. Alicia was by no doubt moved by what she heard and Mrs Melissa never wanted her daughter to fall prey in the hands of a boy who would end up destroying her life,hence,Mrs Melissa could only hide Alicia from the world in her wings because of her meek gentle and easy trusting personality.

Although that wasn't the major reason Mrs Melissa was protective of her daughter,it was mainly because of her extraordinary beauty,in the few occasions she took Alicia to the market with her, wherever and whenever they passed, people couldn't help but want to turn around to look again.

Alicia was a vision of feminine grace,her curves voluptuous and alluring,her olive skin glowed with a healthy radiance offsetting the Raven Cascade of hair that framed her delicate features,her pink lips full and inviting, always curved into an innocent smile,while her deep set sea eyes moved with mischief and intrigue. As Alicia moved,her clothes be it loose or tight flowed like liquid silk over her hour Glass slender figure,accentuating the dangerous lines of her womanly body,her eyes dancing with a beguiling mix of innocence and seduction at the same time,she was a sight to behold,a paragon of feminine beauty,she was 18 and dangerous to any man who set eyes upon her.

Mrs Melissa herself couldn't help but dread the attention her daughter's beauty often caused and that was why she was always scared to send Alicia on errands alone for fear of one of those boys trying to Sweet talk her but then it was inevitable as sooner or later she wouldn't have to be around her daughter anymore hence she could do nothing but pray for her daughter as she stepped into the university..
