"Pilot set, course for the Florian system", captain Maguire ordered lieutenant Tashinga at the flight control console. Lieutenant Tashinga and lieutenant Anesu's fingers flew expertly across their respective consoles inputting the coordinates to take the massive starship on a direct flight path to the Florian star system. The tranquil image of stars slowly moving across the bridge's big screen quickly changed to a hail of streaking lights as the Sandawana raced through space.
"Inform me once we reach the Florian system", captain Maguire calmly ordered. His composure belying the tension he felt inside. He couldn't believe that they were actually going into the Florian system with all its attendant surprises. There was no telling what dangers awaited them.
It was not that he was overly anxious, it was after all their duty to go where no man has gone before, By their deliberate actions to open up more of the unknown universe to mankind.
