Obsessed with Gu and traps

My actual birthday is April next year. That's right, I am technically 1 year behind my classmates. It doesn't matter much, such shit happens sometimes.

Fang Yuan and Zheng will be turning 16 on November 11th and me and my brother will turn 16 on the 7th of April. Can't believe it has almost been 16 years since I came to this world. I have accomplished so much, but it is still so little and insignificant. I can fight off thousand beast kings using my physical strength, so what? There are people who can kill those ten thousand beast kings with a flick of their wrist! I am still too weak and insignificant.

The day passed quickly and what did I do? Everything I could! I had to use 400 primeval stones to buy a bronze skin Gu worm and combined the bronze and rock skin Gus into an iron skin Gu. That cost me an entire 7 Gu points! I also got rewarded another little light Gu and made a moonglow Gu, which cost me 3 Gu points.

Overall, my strength went up quite a bit. I got rank 2 defensive and offensive Gus and a rank 1 movement Gu. I need to slow down my cultivation now, or the higher-ups will get suspicious of me. I won't be refining a four flavors liquor worm any time soon, so might as well. I'll mostly focus on making money and fix my talent situation.

A single week has passed and Fang Yuan came once again to my treehouse. He didn't wait around for me and just came up on his own. He didn't stand on the trapdoor, though. Kinda wish he did.

I walked outside my cultivation room and opened the door. Fang Yuan looked at me, a bit displeased and sighed "I have a proposition for you. I wish to borrow the white boar strength Gu and I will give you some valuable information in exchange." I scratched my head and thought about it "What kind of delicate is this information of yours?"

"It is quite valuable for you and your brother." I nodded and he said "There is going to be a beast tide soon. It will be large enough to even shake the foundation of Gu Yue and the other 2 clans." I nodded at him and said "I see!"

Without a second thought, I pulled the second lever near my door and down went Fang Yuan! "Haha! They called me a madman for installing a second trapdoor! Who's is the idiot now! It paid off and in such a big way! Suck it Chun Jack!"

I closed the door and went back inside, expecting Fang Yuan to leave out of humiliation, but I forgot I was dealing with THE Fang Yuan. I opened the door and saw Fang Yuan standing in a different location. I narrowed my eyes and said "You are lucky I haven't instilled a third trapdoor yet. Or have I!"

Fang Yuan heard a pulling sound and jumped left. The only thing that happened was a small part of the wall rotated a bit and the word "GOTCHA!" written on paper appeared.

Anyone who says I wasted the 3 days it took me to set up these traps can go and cry me a river! They worked even on Fang Yuan and exactly according to keikaku. Is it keikaku? Doesn't matter! Haven't seen memes for 16 years, almost. Main point, I got him!

"Okey I'll stop messing around! You wanna come inside and ACTUALLY make a decent proposition for the white boar strength Gu or do I have to kick you out... USING THIS TRAP!"

Fang Yuan stared at me with his dead eyes, thinking I was bluffing. Well... I kinda was, but he didn't know that! "Sigh! You can come in." He should be thinking something along those lines, but this is Fang Yuan we are talking about. He is too sly to figure out with just a smart head.

"I won't screw around or waste time. I need the white boar strength Gu and the liquor worm Gu. They would be extremely useful to me. If you give those Gu worms to me, I will owe you a favour and I swear to return it whenever I can." I looked at him with one eyebrow raised.

Holy shit this guy is shameless! He is trying to trick me into giving my Gu to him, so he can instantly refine them using the stupid cicada and never give them back! What a bastard! I swear he never says a single honest word. I should just stop interacting with him, but the Fang Yuan fan in me keeps begging me to help him and get the story back straight.

I sighed and said "Fang Yuan, I know for a fact you don't return favours! You even capitalized on the fact, that I don't want to kill you, for my own reasons. Someone as sly and indifferent minded as you won't ever return a favour, unless returning it would bring greater gain. In lay man's terms, I. Don't. Trust. You!

I am indeed planing to rent out the boar strength Gus, but I won't be giving it to you! Who knows, maybe you have some kind of refining method, that allows you to refine other peoples Gus instantaneously!"

Fang Yuan broke out into a laughter and said "That is quite impossible! Not even the elders know of such a method. How could I possibly know?" I laughed along with him "You are quite right about that! Still, I don't see any benefit in befriending a C grade trash. You got lucky and magically reached the medium first, but you are still a C grade! There is no worth in investing in you! And you don't have anything I don't have!"

Fang Yuan furrowed his brows and said "Don't you have a mortal you call a brother?" I scoffed at what he was implying and said "I have been personally raising and teaching him for nearly 10 years! His body is cultivated perfectly and he is worth my investment. He is also my sworn brother, so he is loyal. You, on the other hand, will willingly sell your brother if it brings you more benefit than loss! I see no point in investing in you!"

I am trying to make sure he thinks I have no sweet clue what his future is by completely denying him based on his current state. If I knew of his future, then I would try to tame him and invest in him as much as possible, but I don't, so I am not investing.

Him owing me favours is also shit someone from the future would use when he becomes a god! I do not know the future, Fang Yuan, and you cannot prove otherwise!

"Propose something worth my time now, or I will have to ask you to leave. No more I.O.U.s and other dumb shit! Propose something I need now or is worth me lending you one of my most prized possessions! If you can't, then..." I reached for a weird looking wooden plank on the floor with my foot.

Fang Yuan knew exactly what I meant and all he could was try his best to convince me with real benefits instead of empty promises.

"What can I propose? Even if I he knows I was a rank 6 in the future, he won't support me, as I am only a C grade and the likelihood of me reaching rank 6 in this lifetime is also extremely small. What can I offer him?" He is probably thinking along those lines.

A sudden idea came to him and he said "I will help you establish a shop, where you can sell temporary ownership of your boar strength Gus' and help you manage it." I laughed at that. That was a genius idea! So genius, I even thought of it a couple of weeks ago and put in a notice about it to the clan leader myself!

"That is truly a genius idea. Too bad I came up with it a lot earlier than you! My parents even agreed to let me use their house as my shop! All I am waiting for is my graduation, so I can complete the mission I was given and get the permit to do so!"

A resolute sigh escaped Fang Yuan's throat and he said "I am currently exploring the Flower Wine Monk's inheritance. I will share my rewards with you if you help me clear it and lend me the white boar strength Gu and the liquor worm Gu."

I smiled and said "That is more like it! I agree, but I have my own conditions! Number 1, I won't give lend you any Gu worms until I see the location. As you know, Flower Wine Monk was killed on the spot! He wouldn't have had enough time to set up an Inheritance, so I need proof. Number 2, I will lend you my liquor worm Gu, but I will keep the white boar strength Gu for my future shop. I will only lend you it by my going rate of 13 primeval stones per cultivation session with it! You will need to pay me the 325 primeval stones upfront! Unless you can do all of these things, I won't cooperate!"

Fang Yuan resolutely nodded and took me to the inheritance ground. I quietly followed him. We stood so close it was almost as if we were one person rather than two. We soon arrived at the spot and entered it. It was the exact same cave and there were no traps,p

"So this is the inheritance ground! That must be the monk himself. So, the records left in our clan's database were all wrong and lies! I wonder what happened to him? I pushed the Boulder up and was done in less than a minute. My body has gotten a lot stronger since the last time I came here! Without a doubt, this boulder didn't stand a chance against me. I pushed it up and said "There we go! That was quite easy. To think the old fool wanted me to use a Gu worm for this! What a pathetic weakling!"

Fang Yuan quickly came up and saw the rank 3 earth treasure flower Gu. It opened as soon as he touched it and the Jade skin Gu appeared. I looked a bit stunned, but I nodded my head and didn't say anything. I already have a rank 2 defensive Gu, so I don't need a rank 1. "You can keep that thing. I have no use for it. You probably can't even feed it. Jade costs a lot and you can barely support yourself. Plus, you will attract too much attention if you buy jade stones. The white boar strength Gu can be explained through me, but jade skin Gu can't."

The third door suddenly opened up and a jade eye monkey jumped at my face and tried to claw me to death. I didn't even flinch and caught it's head in my hand and rock dust flew as I physically crushed it's skull into powder. The only traces of its head ever existing were the two jade eye left in my left hand. I looked into the cave full of such monkeys and said "I stand corrected. You can most definitely feed the little guy in your hands."

Fang Yuan showed no emotion and kept his abysmal gaze, as if nothing on this earth could shock him or bring him joy. How depressing. Maybe I will be like him when I turn 500, but I do not wish for that to happen. I might become indifferent to killing humans, but I do not want to lose my emotions.

"So, we have to kill our way through a cave of monkeys with weird eyes. Well, I don't feel like fighting them. I'll lend you the liquor worm and you can come to my shop and use the white boar strength Gu. I have already bought a small plot from the clan and am building the shop outside of the city. You can come and be our first customer once I am done with the construction and my permit mission gets approved."

Fang Yuan nodded and we left the cave. I lent him the liquor worm and we parted ways.

Fuck! Why am I helping him?! Obviously because I want the legendary Gu. What kind of Gu can attract Fang Yuan's attention? It must be extremely powerful and expensive!

Also, I highly doubt anything in Reverend Insanity comes at the cost of luck. It was most definitely some kind of scheme of a spy. That sounds more Reverend Insanity than someone getting lucky.

Fang Yuan would never be lucky enough to just randomly gain a legendary Gu, so I need Fang Yuan's help to unravel the scheme and acquire the legendary Gu!

If I throw cannon off too much, then I will never be able to get that legendary Gu and I don't even know the name of it to search it up in my shop. I most definitely need Fang Yuan for that!

He can do whatever he wants until I get enough Gu points to enslave him completely. Now I have a tight hold over his life. I can go and tell on him to the academy elder or clan leader and he will lose his life or be completely investigated 24/7. I am talking about the Flower Wine Monk's secret.

He is completely dancing on the palm of my hand and the next one to join him will be my inferior Bai Ning Bing! I'll dominate them all and make sure I come out on top!
