"Now," said Kyle, sorting through the last few coins. "Even though we're playing with pennies, let's say every penny is a thousand dollars. That way we're both playing with a million to start with."
"What difference does it make?" Andrea asked, counting through the stacks and making sure that they both had the correct starting amount.
"Just makes it feel more dramatic," grinned Kyle.
"You don't think the epic stakes are enough to provide the necessary drama?"
"Wouldn't you rather say I'll see your ten grand and raise you five, instead of I'll see your ten cents and raise you a nickel?" said Kyle.
"...Alright, when you say that out loud, I admit it does sound a little more serious," said Andrea. What she didn't say out loud was it would make even the smallest bet higher stakes than anything she had ever done.
