"The Eldritch kill count, while truly used for the hierarchy in the house, doesn't mean much in the base. It's just in case of small skirmishes and to maintain order in the base," she tried explaining, but all Hael did was give a simple nod while looking out of the glass window.
The various streets and buildings shuffled past really fast, although they were all otherworldly clear to him. He could see various humans, all going about their business. There didn't seem to be much fear in their eyes at all, considering they were a race truly at war with another group of races.
"What's wrong?" Captain Aelia suddenly asked him, as Hael turned to her with an eyebrow raised.
"What?"
"I don't know. You're not like your normal self. You look sober," Captain Aelia said to him, as Hael shrugged.
"The real weirdo is the one who smiles and plays all the time, you know," he said, as Captain Aelia nodded.
"Fair point."
