Not OP Enough Yet

Waking up in the middle of a savannah like terrain, Kaizen remembered the pain he felt as his body trembled again as he said to himself to try to avoid suffering like that again.

Then, he looked around to see tall yellowish grasses growing up around most places he can see. The exception being the many small cliffs which were far away from each other. Other than that, looking up, Kaizen could see a floating island, although he could not see what is on it from his position.

"I must have passed the first test before falling unconscious, and this should be the second one, and if it is like the one I remember, I think I should hide for a while, or I will just get butchered by others" said Kaizen. Then, just before he started moving, he said "Identity" so that he could see if he got any stronger.

It seemed that most things stayed the same, but, there were some improvements, first thing that changed was that the positions tab now show light bearer, fisherman, and wave controller instead of N/A, and since I don't know how to control a light house yet, I am guessing that those are the position I have the potential to be good at the most.

Although, it is quite surprising that I got the talent to become a fisherman, perhaps it related to my skills since I do not have much experience attacking others.

The second thing is that the shinsu part also changed, it seems that without noticing it, I was able to make a baang and use it to reinforce my body to avoid dying. That would explain why for a moment near the end, I felt a bit of relief before the pain increased again.

And so, the third change was to my skills, where my adapting body moved up a rank from E to D and I got the shinsu enhancement skill even though it is at F rank.

[Passive]: Gradually allows the user to adopt to any environment he is in as long as he doesn't die.

[Passive]: Slowly absorbs the shinsu in the surrounding area to make it easier to resist and control it.

[Active]: Makes the adaptation faster, but, in return, the user will feel an increasing amount of pain.

[Active]: Can use one baang to reinforce the user's body making him stronger than normal.

Although I got surprised to also get the shinsu enhancement skill,what really got my attention was that the adapting body skill gained a new effect that can help me both control and resist shinsu. The resistance wasn't much of a surprise, but the fact that it made it easier to control it made me hopeful that I would also perhaps be able to control other elements in the future.

[Hello Everyone!]

[All of the regulars who have made it to the tower, we sincerely welcome all of you to the second floor, Evankhell's Floor!]

A loud but slightly soft voice, although one which still sounded a bit masculine, was heard by all regulars coming from above.

[This Evankhell's Floor. It is also called the "Floor of Test" because here we carry out the final test to see whether you are qualified to go up the tower!]

[Well. I will explain the details to you later! First, let's start the first test! It's been a long time since we warmed up]

[The first test is simple! I will explain the rules, so listen carefully!]

[The rule for the first test is as follows! There are 400 regulars here!]

[Narrow that 400 down to 200! Try every possible means]

[The test ends when the number of regulars reach 200!]

[Ready, Begin!]

As soon as Kaizen heard of the test and the rules, two things came to his mind. The first is that he needs to hide, after all even if he got stronger, there still should be people stronger than him here.

The second thing was that this test could probably be the same one as the one that Baam took. If that is the case, he should also be careful of people like Anaak, Hatsu, Rak and Khun…

Also, he should try to see if he can recognize any of them here while trying to hide. After all, if this is the same timeline, the test shouldn't take too long.

And, if the conditions for forming a team are the same as the original, I will also have to pay attention to the direction where the other regulars are going.

While thinking all of that, Kaizen squatted down to try to get some cover, after all, even though there was no one nearby right now, if someone walking by saw him he will most likely have to fight them without having any weapons or experience.

After squatting down, Kaizen tried to move silently towards any of the hills nearby that seemed to have no one in them without leaving any trails on the grass that others could track.

Though hard, he was still able to somehow reach one of the hills without leaving any noticeable track. It took some minutes for him to be able to do so while staying down and silent though.

Then, as if fate were laughing at him, Kaizen saw someone approaching the hill he was hiding near just as he thought he could rest for the rest of the time.

His heart started to beat faster, as he got both afraid of dying and afraid of having to hurt others so soon, still he had to pass, so, the first thing that he did was take a quiet deep breath and to try to relax. As soon as he had relaxed, he decided to try to see who the incoming person was.

Even though he could tell that it was a person, the tall prairies were still obstructing his vision, but, after focusing for a bit more, he could see that the person had long brown hair, a feminine face and big chests, and cat like ears. She was wearing a Black top with a red skirt. He could also tell that she had a needle on her hand, one the common weapons used in the tower.

Yet just as she was going to come near him, he heard someone else coming. After a few seconds, a blonde long haired woman with red eyes, fox like ears and a big chest wearing a white dress suddenly appeared. On her right hand, she had a thin silver rapier.

After both women saw each other, it didn't take long for the cat woman to try and attack the fox woman with her needle. But, unfortunately for her, the fox woman was able to defend herself with the help of the rapier.

Although, that attack left a small opening for the fox woman to attack, she didn't have enough time to hit the cat woman who was able to use her needle to change the direction of the rapier from her left chest to the side.

After this, both women jumped back and then started to duel against each other each aiming for the other's vitals.

Seeing this, Kaizen took a breath of relief that they had yet to discover him. But, afraid that they might actually do it and attempt to kill him, he attempted to form a baang.

Although he had done it before, it was still done unconsciously. So, even though he a feeling of how to do it, Kaizen still took nearly five minutes to be able to him to form a baang. A time he was quite stressed on. After all, even though he was hiding, the focus required for him to form a baang made it so that he couldn't focus on his surroundings.

Lucky enough for no one to have noticed him, Kaizen was able to use it to reinforce his body in case he is attacked or if he were to intervene in the fight between the two beauties.

If the test was still the same as he read in the webtoon, he will need teammates to pass this round. So, he has decided that he might as well wait till both are injured, and when one of them tries to finish the other. He could save the weaker one and then attempt to compromise with the other in hope of delaying till the first part of the test ends. This would also make it much easier for him to have the necessary teammates.

The minutes passed, and Kaizen started to notice that there might not even be a need to interfere.

As, from what he could see, both were quite good at fighting. And, neither appeared to be stronger than the other. So, without having anything to do, Kaizen stayed hidden, and after a while, when he started to feel tired, he dispersed his enhancement.

Soon, it would seem that both girls have already been fighting for nearly thirty minutes. Both had injuries on their bodies and were starting to get a bit tired. Still, neither had any fatal wounds, and both still could continue for a few more minutes. So, rather than having one win over another, the only one victorious here was Kaizen which happened to see the many tears in their clothes from their fighting and now, rather than being afraid of them attacking him, he was more afraid of them discovering that he was there seeing them fighting for all this time.

Then suddenly, a loud voice could be heard again. The same one as the previous.

[Mic Test!]

[Everyone, stay where you are!!]

[The first test is over now!!]

[All remaining regulars stop what you are doing and listen carefully!]

[Any regulars fighting from now on will be eliminated!]

After hearing the last announcement, both rapidly stopped fighting, and instead only kept on staring at each other while focusing on what the announcer was saying.

[To the two hundred regulars who passed the first test, congratulations to all of you!]

[It may seem a bit rushed, but a short second test will be carried out right away!]

[Ha Ha! Don't be so disappointed! The next test is really simple!]

[Now, here is the challenge for the second test!]

[The challenge is getting teammates!]

[There are two hundred remaining regulars! Among those who remain , find two regulars to be your teammates!]

[In short, this test is to make a team of three!]

[For you reference, we are giving you a five minutes time limit!]

[Ok, starting now, make a team of three!]

[Of course, if you don't make a team in five minutes, you are eliminated!]

[Oh! And one more thing, to be considered a team, you need to be touching some part of your teammates' bodies when the limit is over!]

[So, everyone, good luck!]

After staring at each other for two minutes, the fox woman looked at the other one and growled before saying, "We will only act as teammates to pass this part of the test, do you agree?"

The other one also growled after hearing what the first had said, and to stopped to think for a while. After one minute had passed, she finally decided to cooperate with someone of the golden fox family, one of her enemies. So, she replied, "Only for this test."

The other one nodded before saying, "let's go find another one before the time ends." As the other nodded and both started to walk in search of someone else.

Looking at his pocket which showed he only had two minutes left and seeing that both girls had decided to cooperate. He reached the decision to get up from his hiding spot and try to form a team with them. After all, there was no one else near them, and his fear of failing the exam was already bigger than the one of them knowing that he stayed hidden for all the time that they were fighting.

And so, Kaizen walked till he was close to them before saying, "Hello, so, I don't think that there is anyone else here other than us. So, why don't we cooperate for now so all of us can pass this exam?"

After seeing Kaizen walk up to them, and hearing what he said, both of them stared at him for a while before looking at each other, nodding and then looking back at him.

Then, the fox woman said, "Well, we will only be cooperating for now, just for this test."

Following that, no one talked anymore till the moment where the countdown was close to zero. The girls were both enemies to each other and both did not want to talk to Kaizen who appeared like he was a weakling. Meanwhile, Kaizen was still afraid of them noticing that he had already seen through all the tears in their clothes and thus stayed quiet.

Then, at the last moment, both girls each grabbed one of Kaizen's arms as they heard the voice of the announcer again.

[The second test is over!]

[Those who have made a team keep holding on to each other!]

[The three people holding each other at this moment are considered a team!]

[You will be sent to the next test spot!]

Then, after hearing the last piece all of three of them were suddenly in darkness for a moment in which after, all of them were in a new room.
