Chapter 4 Tutorial Mission

After checking on the new things on my status I turned to Stella and asked.

"Why does my magic still say unawakened?"

It took a minute for her to wake up from her shock and register what I had said.

"Although you have a 'Mana Core' and got the 'Mage' class you need to go to the mage tower to awaken your affinities and officially join the mage association and since you didn't choose a staff you don't have the basic skills or a mage. It's such a waste, you have the perfect constitution of a mage you just had to go and choose a sword didn't you"

She half explained and half complained with a pout on her face. She looked so cute that I couldn't help but laugh which made her more upset.

"Now why would I do that? I've trained my ass off to be a swordsman and I like swords and blades so why would I choose something I have no idea of and how it works." 

I explained to Stella as she pounded my chest with her tiny hands as I laughed at her cute expressions.

I twitched as a sharp sound echoed close by. I finally looked around and noticed we were in the middle of a clearing surrounded by trees.

Yup a forest, that is where I find myself and my cute little guide stranded.

After registering where we were and the sound I just heard I closed my eyes taking deep breaths to concentrate on performing a technique I learned by chance.

By focusing on my senses I could enhance them to an unnatural degree but something strange happened while I was doing that.

My Mana that was in my mana core started moving along my mana veins and concentrated around my 5 senses enhancing them beyond what I was used to making me disoriented.

'What is going on, it's not supposed to do that'

I thought as I held my head in pain and panic.

After that notification, my senses started to calm down and settle. I could now hear, see, taste, and smell everything within a 50-meter radius around me I could even feel the changes in the wind against my skin.

'Wow.....much better'

After calming down by controlling my breathing I started to filter the different things my senses were picking up and focused on the sound of a creature breathing at the edge of the clearing.

Turning in the direction of the breathing I imagined the katanas' handle appearing in front of me diagonally, crossing my arms I took hold of the handles and pulled the swords out swung them to the side, and pointed them to the ground with the tip of the blade an inch from the ground with my right foot slightly behind the left.

I took this stance and waited with my guard up to see if the creature was gonna show itself or not.

After waiting for 20 seconds the bushes started to rustle and a white bunny jumped out into the opening but unlike a regular bunny, this one had a sharp blade at the top of their head.

"Wow, I didn't expect to see such a cute little creature in this world," I said after relaxing and letting my guard down.

"I wouldn't let my guard down just yet if I were you."

Stella said while hovering beside me. I turned my head towards her with a confused look on my face and was about to ask her what she meant when a sharp ringing in my head alerted me and by instinct, I did a quick sidestep. I was a little late as I felt a slight sting on my cheek.

I could feel something wet running down my cheek and bringing my hand up to my cheek I wiped away what was on my cheek and brought my hand in front of my face to see what it was only to see a red substance on my hand. I immediately recognized it as my blood and froze.

I robotically turned my head slowly and looked at the bunny and my entire body trembled in rage and my eyes took on a cold and piercing look as bloodlust rippled off of me in waves.

A shiver ran down Stella's spine as she stared at me with fear evident in her eyes.

Stella pov-

'How does he have such bloodlust, just what has he been through'

Ever since I met him I have seen so many sides of this human and am curious as to what and how powerful he becomes.

Within the world of infinity, there are countless powerful beings from all the different races but 5 years ago our world was destroyed and the continent that they refer to now is just a small fragment of what our world once was. 

It started first as nothing significant, dimensional gates that were later dubbed as dungeons started appearing all over the world. We could defeat the monsters that appeared within these dungeons and let our guards down. Stronger dungeons with more powerful monsters started to appear and we grew desperate, at that time unknown beings appeared before us claiming themselves the be our salvation and calling themselves diving beings, The Constellations.

They bestowed upon those they deemed worthy the power to defeat the monsters and beasts that threatened to drive the world to destruction thus creating a new profession all across the planet, The Hunters, These people hunted and killed the monsters in and outside the dungeons in efforts to reclaim the lost cities and avenge their fallen but what started as a noble cause quickly deteriorated.

These Hunters that once stood up and fought for their people were devoured by greed for wealth and fame started to forget their duty and neglected the people they swore to protect. They fought among themselves for their petty pride and accelerated the fall of Infinity.

The constellations abandoned us and left us to our ruin and our world crumbled as monsters overran the world....but one continent survived, the smallest of the continents, and the only one that dungeons never appeared on which had become the last stronghold for all the races before the fall.

Seconds before the fall when monsters surrounded the stronghold a blinding light originating from the center of the continent blinded everyone and left them unconscious. once everyone woke up we realized that we were no longer on our planet but in a black void with a giant Golden barrier around the continent with symbols and runes we couldn't even begin to recognize. 

An emotionless voice then spoke in our minds.

[I have decided to take pity on you and chosen to combine your world with another you have 5 years to prepare, that world is weaker than yours but yet faces the same threat, whether you help them or destroy and take over their world is up to you]

And like that 5 years passed, we trained until we bled, we perfected our techniques, we developed new ones and we sharpened each other for the sole purpose of survival.

Within 5 years a central government was established and the continent changed drastically, it became bigger due to the influence of the earth and nature mages, Beasts were created or summoned by the summoners and beast masters to be scattered across the continent and a decision was made to help the people of the new world.

My race was thus trained and given the task of being assigned to these otherworlders to be their guides when they arrived in this world, and I just had to be stuck with this walking mystery of a human.

I ignored the constant notification as I coldly stared the bunny in the eyes as mana unconsciously circulated through my body.

Mana circulated through my feet as I dashed toward the bunny and appeared behind it with blood on my blade. As its head slid from its body and fell to the ground I flashed my sword to get rid of the blood and used my senses to see if there was any other monster nearby.

having deemed that there was no danger I looked at the notifications that were at the corner of my vision which had gone off like fireworks.

"Hey Stella how come you haven't told me what the goal of the tutorial is" I turned to Stella and asked her.

"Oh really I haven't, it must have slipped my mind" She replied as she scratched her cheek avoiding eye contact after noticing my piercing stare. 

"There you should be seeing it now," she said after snapping her fingers.
