Arrested?

'Hiss…'

Mark Ashfield held his bruised head as he looked around. What entered his sight was a strange new environment. Towering buildings built of glass, huge towers reaching hundreds of meters and what surprised Mark the most was that there were sturdy cars flashing in front of him floating slightly off the ground.

Clearly this was no longer the earth that Mark was familiar with. Obviously it was much more sophisticated and developed.

That's right Mark wasn't originally from wherever this is. He had been a part of a government experiment back during the year of 2021. The experiment was supposed to alter the human genes in order to work at maximum capacity. Unfortunately it had a 99% failure rate, and Mark ended up here.

Mark dragged his body off the ground and looked around. He had no idea where to go. As he scanned the area he saw a small alley between two buildings and he stumbled towards it and finally sat down, unaware of a small camera that turned to face him.

Looking down at his own body he saw it was slightly browned from the sun, with calloused hands and finely toned muscles obviously the result of dedicated exercise. However the clothes caused Mark to frown, he was dressed in what looked like rags patched together haphazardly.

He leaned forward slightly to see his reflection in a puddle. His face stunned Mark, he had sharp eyebrows and a chiselled face with a tall defined nose. His lips arched up into a natural smirk giving him a devilish feeling. However all of this was covered by long hair that fell over his face hiding all his features above his jawline.

However soon after Mark frowned again, he wasn't sure what to do next. But as if to answer Mark, he immediately heard a familiar Police siren drawing closer to him quickly.

Until he saw two strangely dressed men step down in front of him. Their outfits looked more like they were preparing for war, with full Armor covering their bodies and bizarre weapons held in their hands, like complex mixtures of pipes and wires, completely different to weapons from earth.

''Put your hands above your head and get on the ground!'' The man shouted in a gruff voice as he pointed the contraption in his hands towards Mark.

''Ok ok'' Mark quickly put his hands above his head as he knelt down on one knee, and then the other.

The man who shouted tilted his head slightly and whispered to the other strangely dressed man on his right who walked forwards slowly towards Mark. This left Mark quite confused, clearly the men in front of him could easily take down a fully armed squad on Earth but still worried about him?

But he didn't get enough time to think about it as the Man walked up to him, dragged Mark's hands behind his back and put some strange blue handcuffs around his wrists.

Weirdly Mark felt his entire body was heavy and tired as soon as the handcuffs were put on.

But the strangely dressed men didn't care about Mark's reaction as they dragged him into the car and pushed him into the back seat.

Mark felt his eyelids getting heavier and heavier as the car pulled out of the alley and finally he couldn't hold it anymore and he fell asleep.

Mark didn't know how long he slept but when he woke up he was sitting in a pure white interrogation room. But he wasn't alone this time. Around him sat more than a dozen people dressed in similar rags to Mark himself with dirty faces and rough hands. However, everyone was asleep.

Around ten minutes passed before the people started waking up and the door to the interrogation room finally opened up.

Mark was stunned when he saw who walked in. She was 168cm tall wearing bizarre long robes looking like an ancient martial artist. However her long legs and curvy figure was only accentuated by it. What made Mark disappointed was that she had a mask covering her face.

The women walked forward and sat on the seat facing Mark and the dozen others.

Seeing the nervous expressions on the dozen peoples face the women seemed to think and then said

''As long as you cooperate nothing will happen''

''Okay first off we need you to answer these questions'' The woman said as she pushed some paper towards Mark and the others.

Mark was depressed as he looked at the question. The first one was what is your name

Followed by Where did you come from.

And many other personal questions that Mark had no idea how to answer.

Hearing the writing of the other people Mark started to think carefully about how to get past this until he just gave up and wrote a string of question marks as all the answers.

Around ten minutes passed before all the other people put down their pens and two men next to the women collected up the sheets.

''Thank you, we will look over the answers and decide whether or not you will be able to become a citizen of our city.'' The woman said.

Hearing this, the dozen people were clearly happy and began whispering between the groups.

However two people were left out. They were Mark and a scrappy looking boy to his left.

''Hey can you help me?''

Mark turned his head towards the boy and whispered under his breath.

The boy turned his head questioningly and slowly nodded.

''Where are we?'' Mark took this chance and asked

''We are in district 2234'' The boy looked confused but still answered.

Mark kept going and asked all the basic questions he could before the door to the interrogation room opened again as the women walked back in.

This is my first time trying to write a novel, go easy on me please :D I appreciate any comments you might have.
