"No, don't go to him," Her mom said as she turned to leave the sitting room and follow her brother, "We'll go and ask him ourselves why he behaved like that."
Marie turned back to face them, wondering whether her mom was going to scold Adrian once her gets to him.
"Why do you want to ask him yourselves? I can do that, besides you probably won't be able to understand him like I would."
"What makes you think I won't be able to understand him? I'm his mother, I gave birth to him. Who else would understand him better other than me?" Marie's mom asked, frowning her face at Marie's statement.
"No, mom, that's not what I mean," Marie said hurriedly, noticing that her mother was already getting annoyed, "I meant that he might not open up to you like he would to me. We are both of the same age group, we share things with each other to that we can't even tell you so that's why I said that I would go up and talk to him."
