Inayah walked out of the pharmacy with a bag of medicines that she had bought for her fever. She unscrewed the bottle of water and took some of the medicine before she started to walk away.
She didn't notice the black Bentley that was parked at a distance watching her.
Jasper rolled down the window of his car and looked at the petite figure walking away. He murmured to himself. ''She didn't go to school. Is she sick?''
…..
Inayah arrived at her house and got down from the taxi. She looked at the mansion next door and frowned before going to her house.
''I should change the interior of this house; is suddenly making me bored.'' Inayah muttered when she looked at the hall. "Let me call Clara. It should be break time by now.''
....
Fountain High.
Year 3 Class C.
Clara walked towards their class while sipping a paper juice. Her phone buzzed and she looked at it and smiled.
''Silly, girl. Are you already back from the hospital?'' Clara asked as she leaned against the wall closer to their class.
''I didn't go to the hospital.'' Inayah entered inside her house as she spoke.
''What?'' Clara started walking towards the washroom as she spoke to Inayah. ''Are you crazy? No, I always knew you were crazy, b*tch. Your body was practically like fire and what? You didn't go to the hospital?''
''Hey, relax. I got medicine at the pharmacy.'' Inayah missed being in her house. She looked around and smiled.
''You got medicine at the pharmacy? Are you a doctor? You should go to the hospital. Only the doctor can tell what's wrong with you. Although, I know is part of what happened last night but, still you should have gone to the hospital.''
''Now, you nag me even more than Nanna. I'm fine now. Also, I didn't call so you could scold me, okay?''
''Okay, why did you call then?'' Clara entered the washroom and leaned against the sink.
''Guess where I am?''
''Where are you? No way, you didn't go to look for the devil to take revenge. Did you?''
''No. What am I? A gangster?'' Inayah frowned.
''Is good you didn't go to him. So, where are you, little princess?''
''My house!''
''You picked the keys and went to your house? Haven't you learnt anything yet?''
''Well, he gave them to me, so it means he is giving it to me, right?''
''In exchange for your first kiss. Ayah, why do I suddenly feel like you living a very dramatic storyline? He kissed you and in the process he slipped the keys into your pockets.''
''That's the only explanation. Otherwise, the keys wouldn't have been in my pocket, right?"
''Ayah, I will go there after school. You need to tell me everything about last night and what really happened. I need more details.'' Clara's face changed when she saw Samantha entering the washroom. ''Hey, I have to go to class.''
''Is that Ayah?'' Samantha asked, looking at the phone
Clara placed the phone inside her pocket and forgot to end the call. She stepped closer to Samantha and said to her. ''Inayah is not here; can you stop acting?''
''Really?'' Samantha's eyes glistered as she asked. Her lips curved into a mocking smile.
''Yes. What exactly are you? You wear so many masks that I can't even tell which one is your true nature anymore.''
Samantha cocked her brows and chuckled saying to Clara. ''Okay, since Inayah is not here. Let me warn you. Stay away from me bitch. I hate dealing with you.''
''Oh, really? So this is what you are really like behind the white lotus mask? Let me also tell you something. Stay away from my cousin. She has suffered enough.''
''You have no right to tell me that. After all, your refusal to stay away resulted to what happened that night? I should thank you, for calling Inayah out of her house that night. Does she know, that the real culprit that night was you?'' Samantha let out a shrewd chuckled and folded her arms.
Her gaze towards Clara was condescending.
Clara clenched her fists tightly. ''I didn't know you had those intentions towards her. I thought you were simply interested in being our friend that's why I introduced you to my cousin. If I knew your aim was to harm her, I would never have gotten closer to you.''
''You're right. My real target had always been Inayah, but I needed you to get to her and being naïve as you are; you thought I really cared about you. Clara, in this school; there can only be one queen and that is me. I always get whatever I want and I want everything that Inayah has including her happiness. She has no right to be happy after killing her parents.''
''What?'' Clara looked at her speechlessly.
''Why? Did you think no one would know about how she drove her parents to the grave? I know everything about Inayah. She told me all her secrets. Her parents' death has always been a taboo that no one talked about, right?''
''What? How dare you say that about Ayah. Her parents' death has nothing to do with her. She is just unfortunate and you…you actually think she killed them? Samantha, you're really sick. Maybe the one who really needed rehab wasn't Inayah but you."
" You have serious problems and also, what you need from Inayah is not her happiness. You are just blinded by jealousy. Before you try to do anything to her, you need to stop being a wallflower first. The role doesn't fit anymore the longer it stays with you.'' Clara nudged her shoulder as she walked out of the washroom.
Meanwhile in the house, Inayah held her phone tightly after the conversation she just heard.
''So, this was it all along. Samantha, you hated me from the beginning. Well, I guess I need to teach you a lesson.''
....
CEO'S OFFICE.
Jasper loosened his necktie as he sat on his desk in the office. He picked his pen and swung it up and down for a few things before banging it on the table.
''Why did I even do that?'' He shook his head and picked his phone to send a message to Dr. Nick.
''Let's meet at my place in an hour time.''
