Dream

The ship flew calmly through the clouds and blue sky, the birds followed the speed of the ship and occasionally responded to their passengers. The flags and insignia of the Arnes Academy shone in the warm, blazing Sun, and the occasional creaking of the ship's floor could be heard.

I slowly opened my eyes covering my face with my hands because of the strong sunlight. I slowly got up from the bed and headed towards the main hallway leading to the deck. I walked down the wooden, dusty hallway for what seemed like minutes and minutes.

I had an uneasy feeling the whole time. As I walked down the hall, I noticed the wooden walls begin to shake slightly for some strange reason. I quickened my pace and finally stepped out onto the deck, when I stepped onto the deck I could see Shane and Grumpy looking at something in the distance.

I got closer and they looked at me with a frightened look and shouted that I should come to them quickly. My fears of flying reawakened and I rushed towards them with all my might.

 "Look straight."

Said Grumpy quietly, in the distance straight ahead of the ship, I could see dark clouds bringing with them a violent storm. Big dark clouds circling and getting closer and closer, followed by a large flock of birds trying to escape from the impending disaster.

Usually the storms are not big in these parts and this ship could handle them without any problem, but this type of storm just reminded me of the terrible mountains of Amala which took many lives without any mercy. At that moment I started to sweat and felt my face turn pale. I remembered the unfortunate event when my grandfather died, I knew that a storm like this could tear our ship to countless pieces and so I shouted.

"Shane! Grumpy! I'm taking the helm! We must turn quickly and try to find land so that we have some chance to survive this!"

But Shane and Grumpy just looked at me and didn't say anything. They were just looking at me or rather through me, I ignored it and quickly climbed to the top of the deck where the helm was.

On top of the deck was a clean wooden rudder that looked right into the oncoming storm. I grabbed the rudder with sweaty hands and tried with all my might to move it but without any success. I yelled loudly for it to move, I even tried to kick it a couple of times to get it to move, but without any success.

The next moment I raise my head and see a dark mass engulfing us.. and then a strong wind took over that blew me off the deck and the next moment I see myself falling faster and faster towards the open ocean full of big waves and monsters just waiting for their prey.

 "So this is the end."

I said with great effort, my body couldn't move an inch and every second seemed like an eternity. I approach the fall and slowly close my eyes, cursing the day I embarked on this adventure that cost me my head. Just a few seconds before falling, I remembered my grandfather and how I ended up the same as him.

I jumped out of bed like a maniac and touched myself to check for any injuries, at which point I quickly walk to the window in my room which now greatly displayed the dark sky in front of me. I look at my reflection in the somewhat dusty mirror and see that I am perfectly fine, without any injuries and even my suit is intact.

I look around and took a deep breath.

"This was just a dream."

I said it to myself to comfort myself, but I still had a bad feeling about the dream. I rarely experienced nightmares and they usually didn't seem this real. I pulled myself together and quickly left my room, I went out on the deck and saw Shane reading a book that looked like a Manual for Seducing Women.

I chuckled to myself and began to walk closer to the deck until I reached the center of it. Shane didn't even notice me as he was engrossed in the manual, Grumpy then shouted from the helm.

"Good morning Sparrow, it's about time you woke up."

He said loudly, somewhat mockingly. Shane winced at that moment and just waved at me before going back to reading his book.

I looked at Grumpy again and headed upstairs towards him, slowly climbing the wooden stairs with a sense of relief that everyone was okay. Grumpy looked at me briefly and let go of the rudder, turned to me and asked.

"So how did you dream?"

I answered him a little louder.

"Grumpy! We have to find a place to rest now."

At which he looked at me with confusion.

"I had a very bad dream where our ship was engulfed by a great storm, like the one on Amala."

His grumpy face changed to a serious one and he said.

"I know you rarely have nightmares Sparrow, I'm not the type who believes in clairvoyance but I agree, we should land somewhere and rest for a while."

He said with determination .

Grumpy took the helm again and began to lower the ship towards the ground, the ship began to make balloon deflation sounds and the wooden planks on the ship creaked a bit. Shane didn't even pay attention because he was still engrossed in that manual, and me and Grumpy were up on the top and watched slowly as the ship descended to earth.

The next moment Grumpy called out

"We rest here until the day after tomorrow!"
