Chapter 19: A Beastly Stranger

Warona's eyes blinked open, her body heavy and hazed out from a stupor she couldn't remember falling into.

"Ronnie?" A hand shook her more awake.

"Calvin?" She shot up, finding herself on the dirty floor right outside her cousin's open cell door.

There was no one in sight except for a confused, frustrated, but now, free Calvin. She was simply glad to see him free.

"You okay?" Calvin's hand was still on her shoulder as if he was afraid she'll pass out again if he dared let her go. "I got up to the cells open and you passed out in front me. Almost thought you're dead."

Warona put a hand over her pounding head, taking in how disarrayed she was.

"Fuck." She cursed under her breath and hissed when a pain shot through her back when she tried to get up.

Fuck you, Utasha.

"Did they hurt you?" Calvin worried, noticing the girl's throbbing ache, hence checking my arms and skimming my body over. "I'm going to fucking kill them all – I swear to god –"
