Chapter 24: Mission to Find Redrus Plants

Obito was amazed by the changes that had occurred, but he didn't think it was too bad.

"Of course, Jack, nice to meet you," Obito said with a smile.

"So, you're going on a mission?" Jack asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, may I pass?" Obito replied before asking back.

"Sure, but are you sure? You're alone?" Jack said, puzzled.

"It's okay, I'm strong!" Obito said, pointing to his arm muscles, covered by his cloak.

"Hahaha, alright, you want to find the plant, right?"

"How did you know?"

"Every Mercenary Soldier starts with an easy mission like this, so of course I know."

"I see."

"Be careful, don't go too deep into the forest."

"Of course, thank you for the advice."

Then Obito left the gate and walked into the forest. Once inside, Obito looked around before running deeper into the forest. After a while, Obito suddenly stopped, then looked around before creating many clones.

"Clone Jutsu!" Instantly, more than ten clones appeared, and Obito ordered them to start searching for the plant.

Meanwhile, Obito focused on meditating, trying to sense the energy in the forest. After a while, Obito could feel a certain unknown energy, which he slowly tried to study and realized was natural energy.

Although he could sense it, Obito had no intention of absorbing the natural energy because the world's nature, especially the forest, was very strange. Therefore, Obito was not in a hurry.

On the other side, Haruto's clone, who was helping in the library, was doing his task well. Mei didn't notice the difference between Haruto and his clone.

Although the clone was unsure if it was right to deceive Mei like that, he felt there was nothing else he could do. To become stronger, the clone, no! Haruto had to be ready to do anything, including deceiving or even killing someone.

"So, you have to have dinner at my house tonight and tomorrow night because after that, you'll be busy with your Academy affairs, except on holidays," Mei said, smiling, waiting for Haruto's, or rather the clone's, answer.

"Uh... But-"

"You don't want to?"

"No! Not like that! Okay, I'll come." The clone Haruto finally gave in and accepted.

"Great!" Mei smiled widely and continued to arrange the books.

After waiting for some time, Obito finally got the results as several clones returned with Redrus Plants. Then one by one, the clones came and went, bringing various Redrus Plants. After a few minutes passed, it turned into an hour, then several hours, and the Redrus Plants almost filled the rattan bag.

Evening was approaching, and Obito decided to stop for the day after the last clone brought the Redrus Plants. Obito then lifted the rattan bag before carrying it on his back, then walked back to the Eastern Gate Entrance.

While walking back home, Obito thought about the next steps, whether to disappear immediately or create another Shadow Clone, so he wouldn't have to wait for Haruto to create a Shadow Clone first to continue his identity as Obito Uchiha.
