Chapter 5

Year 76, July 20

Today is the last day before summer break, the first semester just ended and we just got our test scores back.

The top ten looked like this.

Karma Uzumaki

Sasuke Uchiha

Shino Aburame

Naruto Uzumaki

Sakura Haruno

Hinata Hyuga

Shikamaru Nara

Choji Akimichi

Ino Yamanaka

Kiba Inuzuka

As expected the clan kids got the highest score, the Rookie nine and me.

Though I was honestly surprised with Shikamaru's score, I thought he'd get lower due to not trying. If he tried all the way he'd probably get fourth place.

Sasuke wasn't too upset at the score he had learned to see me as a rival and friend throughout the past two months.

Naruto was happy too as long as he made it into the top ten but he vowed that next time he'd get a higher score than Sasuke.

Honestly they fight like brothers which is funny when you think about it.

Throughout the past two months me, Naruto, and Sasuke had been training every day. They finished the chakra control training a while ago so lately we've just been sparring and physical training. I've also taught them to meditate as it helps with chakra growth.

Me and Naruto's chakra reserves have reached Jonin level with Sasuke just reaching Chunin.

I've also expanded the friend group with the added members of Shikamaru and Choji. It was a nice addition as we all have fun and it's not serious all the time.

Don't think I've neglected my own training, my mastery over lightning has gotten better and I can now infuse weapons with lightning or a body part with lightning to enhance the strike. I've also learned how to do chidori or my own version, I just shape my hand like a skewer and cover my hand in lightning. I've cut a tree down using it.

I can also use lightning to stimulate my nerves and increase the strength of my body making me faster and stronger.

Though I can't last long because of my young body. I need to train more.

Anyway right now we're all going to enjoy the rest of the day and have fun.

Year 76, July 23rd

Right now Naruto and I are getting ready because today is Sasuke's birthday and we're going to surprise him at his house. Everyone is going to be there including my parents.

After we got ready we all headed to Sasuke's house and right now he wasn't here he was out with Itachi to distract him.

When we got there, Shikamaru, Choji, and the rest of rookie nine were all there. I invited all of them, you know the more the merrier.

We set everything up and just waited.

Pretty soon I heard them coming and let everyone know.

The door to the house opened and once Sasuke entered the kitchen everyone yelled. "SURPRISE!!"

Sasuke got scared and fell, which everyone laughed at. He got all embarrassed which was even more hilarious.

Afterwards we all ate and had fun but I noticed Itachi disappeared so I used my senses to find him.

'He's on the roof?' I wondered why.

I grabbed a piece of cake and jumped on to the roof to see him just watching the sun set.

"Hey Itachi, what are you doing out here?" I asked curiously. Before he answered I noticed his chakra flickering with intense emotion.

'Anger.' I thought. Probably towards everyone.

"I'm just admiring the view." Itachi answered, his chakra now normal.

"You forget I have a Dojutsu, I noticed the change in your chakra just now. You're angry, why?" I asked again as I took a bite of cake.

Itachi sighed and thought. 'He's a smart child just like me when I was his age, maybe he can help me figure it out.'

I of course just read his mind, man do I love my senses.

"Karma, can I ask you something?" Itachi asked.

I nodded towards him.

"Do you trust the village one hundred percent?" Itachi asked as he stared at me with his sharingan activated.

"To be honest no not really, I see a lot with my eyes more than people know and what I see is not always good. Take your clan for example, I can see the hate they have for this village, the reason for this I don't know but it's definitely not unprovoked. I can see the civilian's fear of the Uchiha clan and it's so much that it's enough to separate the two. How could the village leaders not take action and actually do something to help. Instead they're just letting it run its course. Unless they are planning to do something in that case I hope nobody gets hurt doing it." I finished the last part by looking directly into his eyes.

"So you think that this could be resolved peacefully?" Itachi asked once more.

"If both sides are willing to find a mutual agreement or conditions then yes I do. But nothing can truly change if the village leaders won't at least hear them out." I explained.

As Itachi looked deep in thought, I left and returned to the party.

Soon Itachi did too and I can tell he felt better.

'I wonder what's going to change now, the Uchiha massacre is supposed to happen soon. I guess I'll have to wait.' I thought.

After the party everyone returned home and I was getting ready to train like a madman for the month and a half. I also needed new techniques to learn to which I had an idea.

I can probably just copy techniques I see, as I can see how the chakra moves inside the body and remember the hand signs the person used.

With that thought I went out to do exactly that. Some time passed and eventually the day I had been waiting for came.

Year 76, October 1st

——

I was currently outside training my mastery over lightning. I was trying to create constructs made out of lightning and solidifying it.

Right now I was just making something simple; a flower, just to get a feel of how to do it.

"Ahhh! No, please don't!" I suddenly heard, to which right after I smelt blood in the same direction.

'No, it's happening!' I immediately used my lightning mode or as I called it 'Godspeed' inspiration from a certain anime of course and sped off in that direction.

I reached there in no time due to my speed and what I saw horrified me.

Bodies everywhere covered in blood and already dead. Though I noticed something else, there were still people alive, mostly women and children with only a handful of men still alive.

Analyzing their chakra and emotions, I could tell all of them were frightened and confused, for good reason.

'The people left alive probably had nothing to do with the coup, how did Itachi convince Danzo to spare some?…Wait, where's Obito?' I then used my senses and focused on the Konoha Military Police building.

It was too late, no one was alive in that area. Obito had already done it. I then used my senses to find Sasuke as he should've been here any minute.

"Sasuke!" I said as I ran in his direction, I sensed him already confronting Itachi.

When I got there, Itachi had just used Tsukuyomi on Sasuke and then saw me.

"Karma, what are you doing here?" He asked curiously.

"I told you I see more than you know, once I saw people dying and screaming I made my way over." I replied cautiously.

(AN: He didn't actually see just in case anyone was confused, but since Itachi knows he has a "dojutsu" that's what he came up with.)

"The ones I killed were planning something dangerous, I tried to talk but they wouldn't listen. There was too much hate in their hearts." He explained with a solemn expression.

"And what about your parents?" I asked as I could only sense one dead body in their house.

"My mother is still alive, she knew of the plan but always tried to talk my father out of it." Itachi replied.

'Huh? So things changed after all, Sasuke will have a connection to someone growing up, but also feel hate towards Itachi. I wished I had helped more though.' I clenched my fist in frustration.

For some reason I hated seeing people die even if they deserved it. And thinking about the wives and children who've lost their loved ones makes me feel frustrated.

Why must humans always kill?

"Karma get out of here before they come, they might suspect you knew something about this." Itachi said which got me out of my thoughts. By them I knew he meant Danzo, so I activated 'Godspeed' and ran away.

The next morning news of what happened to the Uchiha clan spread like wildfire and as for Sasuke we still couldn't see him in the hospital because he was stuck in the Tsukuyomi.

I don't know for how long but I knew eventually he'll be ok physically.
