35. Date

King engrossed himself into the books that he found and immediately started to learn the the new magic written in the grimoires.

Like this, he spent two years while studying grimoires to further his magic practice and continue his daily routine.

On this day, something unexpected happened and Elaine asked King something suddenly.

"King, can you go on a date with me?" Elaine came flying in front of King and asked with a beautiful and hopeful smile.

"Huh, where did you learn this from?" King was a bit astonished and asked her.

"I read it in a book and it sounded like a wonderful thing". Elaine joined her hands in front of her and said smilingly.

"Sure, why not". King nodded his head and changed their looks with Illusions.

Both of them had blonde hair and green eyes like the rest of the elves in the stronghold. So they wouldn't be conspicuous.

King nodded with satisfaction and took her hand before slipping out of the castle discreetly without letting anyone know except Aelsa because he cannot hide from her vision.

Diane was preparing some snacks for King and before she knew, King was gone from the place and she just shook her head and went to King's room to sort out his clothes.

King and Elaine appeared in the busy streets of Ljosalfgard guard shortly after and looked around at the busy streets.

"Hey, let's go and eat that". Elaine was immediately captivated by the smell of barbecue stalls around them.

"Let's go". King nodded his head and led her towards the stall.

"Boss, two of your best skewers". King called out and Elaine looked around at the place like a curious baby.

"Coming right up". The boss replied cheerfully and handed two skewers to King.

King gave him four copper coins and continued on his way to other places. They were going roam all the streets.

"Let's try that, I want that as well". Elaine fully let go of all the stops on her tummy and basically tasted everything in sight.

"What's this?" She asked while twisting some sugary thing in her cup.

"This is caramel. Try it, it's really tasty". King answered and took a scoop of it with his finger.

"Hey, eat yours and stop eating mine". Elaine complained and hid her cup away from him.

"But the one is your cup tastes better". King complained with a smile and pushed his cup towards her.

"Let me see". Elaine looked curiously and scooped some up from King's cup with her finger.

"Huh, it tastes the same to me". Elaine tilted her head in confusion and looked at King completely puzzled.

"Of course, eating from someone else's plate has a different flavour". King said with a smile and scooped some more from Elaine's cup.

"No!" Elaine screamed and tried to reach out and take some from King's cup as well.

"Hehe, can't catch me". King ran away from the place and Elaine ran after him with vengeance because he took some from her and didn't give her share back.

"Come here". Elaine shouted and kept on chasing King to get her share back.

"Haha, here take some". King finally stopped after having some fun and displayed the cup to Elaine.

"Hmph". Elaine snorted and scooped some up from his cup as well.

"Let's go somewhere else now". King smiled and led Elaine to another place while holding her hand.

Elaine followed along naturally without feeling any strangeness in holding King's hand and followed him obediently.

"Wow, this is so beautiful". Elaine looked at an earring on a stall and exclaimed.

"Please customers, come and see some of my most prized possessions". The aunt's eyes shone when she heard Elaine's words.

She knew that wealthy customers were here and this was her time to make some money. She was fully expectant at this time.

"How much is this?" Elaine asked while picking up the blue gemmed earrings from the stall.

"10 silver coins". The aunt replied immediately.

"This is not worth 10, only 5 coppers". King shook his head and refuted her immediately.

He is rich being the Crown prince but it doesn't mean that he likes to get taken advantage of. This is not how he rolls.

"That's way too little. At least 5 silver". The aunt shook her head and argued back.

Elaine was immediately displeased by the Aunt when she heard her words. She knew that she was being taken advantage of.

"1 silver, no more". King waved his hand and threw a silver coin at the woman.

"Okay". The Aunt nodded her head with regret and chose to finally relent.

The currency in Alfheim is like most fantasy novels with copper, Silver, Gold and Platinum coins in circulation.

Ten copper coins equal 1 silver and so on and so forth with the rest in the same sequence. A very basic system but it works for their laid back lives.

Elaine pursed her mouth in displeasure but still took the earring because it really looked good to her and touched her heart.

"Here, let me put it on". King took the earrings and put them on her ears after removing the previous ones.

These were just some artificial earrings made from cheap materials but as long as she liked it. There was nothing bad about it.

They roamed around the whole city like some first time tourists and King looked at the stronghold closely for the first time.

"Shall we grab some dinner?" King said and pointed at a lively restaurant in front of the two.

"Let's go". Elaine nodded gently with a little tiredness.

She had too much fun today and was a little tired from running around all day. Even if it isn't physical tiredness. There is still mental tiredness that she can feel.

So she didn't want to move anymore and decided to just take a meal in the restaurant in front of the two.

"What would you like?" As soon as they sat down, a young girl came to take their order.

"Just bring your specialty with some sweet juice". King answered with a smile and turned to look at Elaine who nodded her head.

The order was placed and the girl turned away from the two.

"Wanna spend the night outside the castle?" King suddenly asked her.

"Huh, where?" Elaine was a bit dazed and asked subconsciously.

"Just an inn around here" king answered and stopped talking.
