Chapter 10: "The Dual Sea Kings: Namor and Arthur's Shared Legends"

Marvel and DC have been longstanding rivals, often imitating each other, producing numerous superheroes with similar abilities.

For instance, DC has Superman, while Marvel introduced the Sentry.DC boasts Batman, Marvel showcases Iron Man.DC's Flash finds its counterpart in Marvel's Quicksilver.

Among the superheroes with comparable experiences and powers, Aquaman definitely stands out.Listening to Godzilla's words, Arthur recalled the story of Namor Mackenzie.

Namor Mackenzie holds the distinction of being the first mutant in American comic history. The origin story of Marvel's Sea King Namor mirrors that of DC's Sea King, Arthur.Namor is a hybrid of humans and the Queen of Atlantis.

He's more accurately described as a "hybrid" than a mutant.Namor Mackenzie's father, Leonard McKenzie, was a captain in the United States.During a 1920 expedition to Antarctica, Leonard used explosives to clear ice floes, inadvertently causing significant damage to the ancient underwater civilization of Atlantis.King Thakur of Atlantis ordered his daughter, Fen, to investigate the explosion's cause.

During the investigation, Fen was injured and taken in by Leonard. They lived together on the boat for several weeks, falling in love.

Upon discovering his daughter's whereabouts, King Thakur, hostile toward the surface dwellers, perceived his daughter's presence on the ship as a capture.

He ordered an attack, resulting in the death of Leonard and the crew.Fen returned to Atlantis and, months later, gave birth to a son, Namor Mackenzie.

As a mixed-race individual, Namor's skin tone closely resembles humans rather than the pale blue of other Atlanteans, subjecting him to discrimination and being labeled an outcast.

Eventually, due to pressure, Namor's mother married an Atlantean and gave birth to Namor's half-sister, Namora. The family fled to Manhattan.Upon reaching adulthood, Namor discovered his growing strength and returned to Atlantis.

Following a series of trials, Namor acquired the [Neptune Trident], reclaimed the throne, gained Atlanteans' acceptance, and became the king of Atlantis. From then on, Namor dedicated himself to protecting the ocean and its inhabitants.

During World War II, the Atlanteans were inadvertently captured by the authorities, leading to their tragic demise during experiments.

Unaware of the surface world's situation and witnessing his people's deaths, Namor unleashed a tsunami on New York in anger.

Sensing an impending disaster, the first generation of Pillars intervened to prevent it.

Subsequently, Namor, along with other newly emerged superheroes like Captain America, banded together as the "Invaders" against the Axis.In terms of abilities, Namor and Arthur share strikingly similar traits.

They possess super-physicality, remarkable underwater agility, the ability to communicate with sea creatures, and wield tridents as weapons.

The primary divergence lies in Namor having two pairs of small wings on his feet, allowing him to fly, unlike Arthur.

However, Namor cannot remain on land for extended periods and must return to water intermittently, or else face dire consequences—a shortcoming Arthur doesn't share.

The two Sea Kings have many similarities but stand distinct in certain aspects. However, despite his impressive abilities, Marvel's Sea King, Namor, hasn't achieved widespread popularity due to his less favorable character and limited exposure.

Despite being a veteran superhero, he hasn't had an independent movie yet, thereby limiting his prominence.

HadArthur not been an avid reader of Marvel comics, he might have remained oblivious to Marvel's Aquaman.

Now, armed with the abilities of DC's Sea King, Arthur was determined to explore the existence of Sea Kings in this world, and a visit to Namor seemed natural.

Unbeknownst to Godzilla, Arthur harbored these thoughts as they descended deeper into the ocean. As an ancient Titan beast, Godzilla's physique was unparalleled.

While his speed underwater occasionally reached supersonic levels, overall, Godzilla's movements remained sluggish.

Capitalizing on his Sea King attributes, Arthur breathed effortlessly underwater, withstanding extreme cold and pressure.

His vision remained clear even in the darkest depths.Despite possessing immense magical potential, Arthur refrained from using it extensively. At most, he employed the [Neptune Trident] for energy blasts and water-based defenses, unable yet to fly.

The exact extent of Namor's current strength remained unknown to Arthur, relying only on comic book references available .

Accompanying Godzilla to Atlantis this time, Arthur's primary aim was to explore and potentially challenge Namor for the throne. After all, Atlantis needed a ruler, and Arthur saw no reason why he couldn't fill that role.

Arthur harbored grand ambitions, relishing the colorful and vibrant world he found himself in—a world brimming with excitement.

From the Titanic incident to encountering Godzilla and acquiring the milestone system and Aquaman's abilities, it all felt surreal to Arthur. He felt a sense of unrealism, yet this very sensation captivated him.

Despite the incredible power he now wielded, Arthur was yet to tap into many of these abilities due to his recent transformation into a Sea King.

Presently, they had descended to a depth of five thousand feet, a depth unreachable for ordinary submarines.

Here, devoid of sunlight, the deep sea was shrouded in darkness.

To Arthur's eyes, the dark environment remained surprisingly clear. He observed a variety of marine life and luminous vegetation along the way, primarily jellyfish.

Among sunken ships, several marine creatures made their homes."There's a monstrous creature, run!""It's going to devour us, hurry!""I don't want to move; it's enormous.

Surely it wouldn't fancy my flesh."In the deep ocean, Arthur could discern the chatter of the surrounding marine life, far simpler than human conversations.

For Godzilla, these marine creatures were inconsequential. His diet primarily consisted of radioactive materials, rendering hunting unnecessary under normal circumstances.
