Chapter 56 Not my type

Paul was so drunk that James has to carry him home and helped him into his room.

   “I don’t like this at all” Mr. Brown was worried for his son.

   “He is no longer himself and is because of you” he told his wife.

“He is only drunk, is not as if he is dead”

“Do you want him to die?”

“No, I don’t want him dead, but I know what to do” she said and walk out on her husband.

   “And what do you think you are going to do?”

“Just watch and see.”

The next day Mrs. Brown was in the office very early, she arrived before Paul and ask someone to tell Paul to come to her office.

   “Hello sir, the president ask to see you in her office.”

    “Ok, I will be there.”

Paul hurried to his mother’s office.

   “Good morning mom, you left  so early today, what brings you to the office?”

She didn’t answer, so Paul thought something is wrong.

“I am not talking to you as your mother, she said. “I am talking to you as your boss, and this company will not tolerate any misconduct from it staffs, as a staff in this company you are not allowed to drink and get drunk, you are to observe the rules and regulations of this company.

For goodness sakes, why will you go to a bar and get drunk? Paul, don’t you know that people are watching? Our competitors are watching, stop creating room for scandal. If any of our competitors lay hands on the mess you created yesterday we would have be saying something else.”

“But I didn’t do anything wrong”

“You were drunk Paul, you were drunk that James had to bring you home on his back, what an insult?” She hit hard on the desk.

“Am sorry, it wouldn’t happen again.”

“It better not, and by the way why have you been treating Sharon badly? She is your wife and you have the responsible to make her happy”

“Mom what about me?, Am not happy”

“Why?”

Paul kept quiet.

“Why are you not happy son?”

“Because I don’t love Sharon”

“There is nothing there not to love, she is beautiful, young, intelligent, hardworking, respectful…

“Mom please, I know she is all that but she is not my type”

“Paul you don’t have a type, if Sharon is not your type then I think your type may not be good for me.”

“But mom….”

“Enough, you can go back to work, and stop drinking.”

Paul walked  back to his office.

“Of course I know she would not hear me out, I guess I just have to do what I have to do”

   “She is not your type my foot, you want to go and bring in that low life from the gutters, that will not happen.

If I sees that girl in my house, I will personally take everything from him, I don’t care if he is my son. I don’t need gold diggers in my house.

Just then her phone rang.

“Hello madam cash, how are you today?”

“Am fine and you?”

“Am doing great”

    “So how is my daughter and son-in-law doing? Are we expecting the cry of a baby soon?”

Hahaha they both laugh over the phone.

“You know my son and I trust him, you will soon be coming to take care of your grandson.

   “Hahaha, Are you for real? Son not daughter?”

   “Anyone my dear, so how is business?”

    “Well I just travel to the US and I brought some good stuffs and I also signed a contract to supply home made food, I want you to handle the whole thing because my hands are full right now.”

    “Ohhhh my friend, what would I have done without you? Please I need all the contracts I can get right now. Thanks for remembering me.” Paul’s mom was over the roof with joy.

These are the kinds of contracts she’s been dying to have and Sharon’s mom brought them on a platter of gold.

   “Look, I will always remember you, now that we are in-laws, it makes it easy. so get ready for more contracts.

    “Ohhhh, you are indeed a Sister, where are you right now?”

    “In my house.”

    “Ok, am coming there right away, I have lots of gist for you”

    “Really, please come over and I already have lots of things for my daughter and son-in-law.”

  “Ok, am coming.”

She hang up the phone and rush out of the office making the workers wonder why she came here today, she has never been coming to work but this days she always drop by maybe is because of her son.

   “How is my daughter doing?” Sharon’s mom ask.

“She is doing more than fine”

    “Are they getting along? I hope they are not having any issues?” Sharon’s mom ask again.

She keeps asking because she has been expecting to hear lots of complains from Paul about Sharon doing drugs or maybe the girls stuff, she didn’t even want to think about that one.

She has always been worrying sick about her and what will happen to her not knowing that things will happen so easily. She was over joy and it makes her want to give all she has.

   “your daughter is the best daughter in-law anyone could wish for, so don’t worry too much, and as for my son, he has no problem.”

    “Really? That is good to hear, yes, before I forget here are the papers for the contract, just give me anything you like when you are done”

“Oh… thank you so much, you are more than a sister.”

“And this car is for my son-in-law I just want to give him something”

“OMG, this is too much,” Paul’s mom hug her friend and never wants to let go.

   “This are the kinds of friends someone should have, thank you.”

“You are welcome.”

    “Paul I have a surprise for you” his mom said when he enters the house.

“What is it?”

“Tai ..daaa.. Take, this is your new car, yeaaaa…”

“My new car?” He was kind of surprised because he did not ask his mother for a new car? And he thought she was angry at him earlier so what changed?.

   “Yes, is a gift from Sharon’s mom, and you need to go and thank her yourself.”

Hearing that Paul lost interest in the car, he doesn’t need anything from them, he can buy his own car.

    “Don’t you like it?” His mom ask.

Paul wanted to say yes, but Sharon was standing there.

    “Thanks mom, I will thank her letter I need to rest.”

    “Go on my dear you’ve really worked hard today. She turn to Sharon “and you come with me, your mom gave me something for you”.

    “Ok,” she went with Paul’s mom into her room and hand her the things her mother gave her.

As she was about to leave, Paul’s mom ask her if Paul has slept with her since they got married.

Sharon was kind of shy to say it, but there is nothing to hide.

“No, he hasn’t”

  “Are you serious? So what did you guys do when you went for your honeymoon?”

“Hmmm, nothing” Sharon said ashamed to face her mother-in-law

“You don’t mean that? What is wrong with that boy, is he ok? I mean is he ok  down there?”  she ask Sharon and Sharon wanted to laugh but held her peace.

If not that Sharon has done it with Paul before she would have ask the same question. But Sharon knew that Paul was just been wicked for reasons best known to him.

 “ This is what I want you to do,” she whispers into Sharon’s ear.

“What?”

“Yes, just do it, I do that all the time with my husband, anytime he is angry I just do that and he will come to me.”

“But I don’t think that will work on Paul”

“Paul is like his father, it will work on him and just stop thinking and just do.”

“Ok ma, I will try it.”

“Don’t try, do it.”

Paul was so angry about the car that his mom brought home.

   “Are they trying to bribe me? That will not work on me, what I don’t like, I don’t like. No amount of money or cars will make me love her.”

Sharon walked in with all the gifts and throw it on the floor.

Paul just looked at her and walked into the bathroom.

Sharon fell on the floor and starts crying.

“What is wrong with her now,? I hate full grown women who behaves like babies” He murmured inside the bathroom.

Paul could not take it anymore, “what is wrong with you? You are making noise, just get up from that floor.”

Sharon keeps crying.

   “For God sake I want to sleep am feeling sleepy, just stop all this cry, I don’t like when women cry around me”

“What have I done to you? Why are you treating me this way, am your wife and you are treating me like this” Sharon keeps crying.

“What do you want from me?”

“I want you”

“Don’t you know how to get me? Or you’ve forgotten how you use to do it? Am even surprised that you’ve not drug me since. Paul ask sarcastically making Sharon to stop crying and got angry instead.
