“Don’t be afraid of me, I wouldn’t hurt you” he started pleading with her.
Christy thought she has heard this words before and that kiss is something she didn’t want it to end “but this Paul I don’t know him and he is coming to me with full force.”
“Please, don’t go away from me, I need you in my life, I’ve given up everything because of you please come back to me”
Patrick thought he has lost them but here they are. He pull over with Christy’s car and she rushed to her car.
“Give me my keys” and Patrick hand her the key then she drove off leaving Patrick and Paul behind.
“How did it go?” Patrick ask.
“I don’t know, I even kissed her but she is still cool as ever”
“Don’t you think you should just give up?”
“You think I’ve not tried? I’ve tried giving up since but I can’t, is like am going to die”
“No, your not going to die”
“Now I know that Christy is my life, I tried sleeping around, getting drunk, playing games but nothing is working, I have money but am not happy Patrick, am not happy”
“Take it easy, what if you get married at once, I know all this will go away”
“Naaa… I will only make her life miserable, no woman deserves that”
“So what should we do? Are you going to be following her around just like that?”
“Don’t worry you can go home, is my call”
“Don’t say that, we are friends”
“I know, but I don’t think you can help me with this, is just my call, let me answer it”
“Ok, if you say so” he left him alone.
Christy went home very sad and full of anger, because she didn’t know what to think about, if is lucky who wants to disgrace her in public or the kiss Paul gave her, even though she didn’t want the kiss to end, Paul still have no right to kiss her in that manner, it made her to start feeling things.
“Am going to deal with Christy” lucky foamed and those guys, they are very lucky I don’t know them”. He call his guys and they came to take him home.
“Why didn’t you call us?, Guy you no try”
“I try calling you guys but they are two and they drag her away with them”
“Are you sure they are not kidnappers?, What is they kidnap her?”
“I don’t think so, is like she knows them”
Christy went to work the next day and was so ashamed to tell pat what happened.
“Babe how far? How is lucky, I hope you guys are making plans”
“Plans for what?”
“You know na”
“Please stop, I don’t what to talk about it” she stood up and left pat not wanting to talk about lucky.
“Am sorry, I was just asking” pat stood up and followed her.
“Just stop asking and let’s plan our next move, you have to summit this proposal to this companies” she hand pat a list and then “call Bridget for me I’ve not seen her lately”
“Yes madam” pat said in a mockery way.
“Whatever, just ask Bridget to come.”
Bridget has turned out to be so classy beautiful and smart, she has finally gave in to James and they are planning their wedding.
“Where have you been?” Bridget ask Christy immediately she enters her office.
“Where you looking for me”
“No, but I can’t help noticing that you don’t stay in your office lately, you go in and out, what’s going on?”
“Nothing, I should be the one asking you”
“About what?”
“You and James, how are you preparing for your wedding?”
“Everything is going on fine, but I want you and Paul to be there”
“Hmmm, Paul again, do you know that guy is Stalking me?”
“How do you mean?”
“Don’t worry” she didn’t want to talk about it so Bridget won’t know about lucky.
“You don’t want to tell me, but please remember this; Paul loves you and I have not seen anyone that will love you the way he did” Bridget said and make to leave.
“Bridget wait” Christy call her back when she saw lucky walking into her office.
“Don’t go yet” Bridget looked at the guy but she can’t remember knowing him so she sat down because is like Christy is trying to tell her something.
“Hey ladies” lucky greeted them with a big smile but they didn’t answer.
“Hey Christy”
“Hi” Christy just wave a finger while Bridget sat still looking at lucky with a scorn.
“What do you want here?”
“Heyyy… easy, am just here to see if you are ok, because those guys, I thought they kidnapped you, but know I know you are fine”
“Thanks for checking up on me”
“Good, am also here to say am sorry for what happened, it will not repeat itself”
“Is ok, and am sorry always for those guys”
“Is nothing, I will deal with them later”
Bridget just roll her eyes wondering what kind of a guy talk like this? So full of himself.
“So can we still be friends?”
Christy didn’t say anything she was looking at Bridget who keeps shaking her head behind lucky telling Christy not to accept.
“I will think about it”
“Come on, there is nothing to think about, just say yes”
“And I said give me time to think about it”
“Is ok, is ok, I will leave you ladies now”
“Bye” Bridget said.
“Who is this guy?” she ask Christy immediately lucky left them.
“Just forget about him ok”
“No, tell me, which guys was he talking about and who kidnapped you?”
“I said I don’t want to talk about it”
Bridget left the office and called Paul.
“Where are you?”
“Am in the office”
“Can we see? Is very important”
“Is anything the matter?”
“I want to see you face to face please” Bridget sound worried over the phone so Paul left everything and went to see her.
“I think Christy is in trouble and she didn’t want to tell me” Bridget said.
“How do you mean?”
“A guy came to the office today and they were saying something, I..I don’t know but he said that Christy was kidnapped by some guys but when I asked her she refuse to say anything.”
“Then I guess is nothing” Paul said because he knows what she was talking about.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, so how is she?”
“She is fine, but when are you coming to get her?, I don’t like those stupid guys coming over to her office” she added.
“Am trying my best Bridget, but my best is good enough I guess”
“You just have to try harder, no one will love Christy the way you do, some of those guys are coming because of her money”
“Let me drop you off” Paul offer.
“No thanks, I need to see James in his office.”
“Ok, thanks for making my man happy” Paul said smiling at Bridget.
Paul thought to go and see her one more time.
“Welcome Paul” their mother was so happy to see Paul. “What about my granddaughter?”
“She is doing well ma”
“Ok have a sit, Christy is not back and Bridget, I don’t know maybe she went to see her husband to be”
“Yea, I think so too” Paul said not wanting to tell that he knew.
“Have you eaten?”
“No ma”
“Let me get you something to eat while you wait for Christy”
“Ok” he was so happy to stay in Christy house, today he is going to sleep here “I don’t care if Christy likes it or not”
She got home and find Paul eating in her house.
“Will he ever give up?” she murmured ask she walk pass him into her room.
“Christy.. Christy…” her mother called. “What is wrong with this girl” she followed her into her room.
“Mom what?”
“What has come over you?, Didn’t you see Paul? Why don’t you greet him?”
“Mom, he is in my house, eating my food, he should be the one to greet me first” her mother raised her hand to hit Christy but she moved away from her.
“Now go out there and greet him properly” she drag her out to the sitting room where Paul was eating not minding Christy.
“Now greet him properly”
“Good evening” she greeted him but not facing him.
Thank you my love” Paul said smiling.
Christy just roll her eyes and want to walk away but her mom refuse.
“What mom?”
“Sit down there, when he finish eating, take the plates into the kitchen, that’s how to behave”
Paul was enjoying the whole scene, he never thought a day like this will come.
“Mom, I just came back from work, I need to freshen up”
“I know, you will do that when he finish eating”
“This is not right” she murmured “In my own house too” Paul was just smiling with the corner of his mouth.
