"mom" Grace shouted, she was not comfortable with the way her mom treats Jane, she wasn't this hostile with the others, it was as if she was deliberately picking on her, first at the party, now this

"what, isn't it the truth, she's just a mere maid and she shouldn't be seen around him, people can misunderstood and it's just good for his reputation, he had a PA, he should do his job" Maria said

" mom, I need her around me, remember she's my personal maid, what if I need to get somethings" Chris knew his mother was right, but he needed to come up with excuses to always have her around him, she was hired to help in the house not at work

"son your mother is right, she doesn't need to follow you around all the time, you have your secretary and your PA at the company, they can run all the errands, you won't be needing her there, she was hired to take care of you at home not the office" Williams said

" what if I want to eat lunch, I don't eat just anyhow" Chris interjected

"if that's the problem, she will bring you lunch everyday, I will assign a driver to her to always bring her to the company, is that okay?"

"now let's go we will be late for the meeting" Williams said

"it's okay dad, you own the company, they can wait" Chris said arrogantly and headed for the car

Jack collected the bag from Jane and ushered Chris into his car alongside Williams, he then got into his own car

everyone waited for all the cars to leave before they turned back into the house

Jane was going into the house when Maria suddenly grabbed her hand

"you better know your place in this house, I'm warning you" Maria said

"mom stop" Grace said and grabbed Jane's hand away from Maria's grip

"will you stop being stupid, are you trying to be friends with a maid?" Maria scolded and walked arrogantly into the house

"Jane wait up for me in my room, I will be right there"

Jane nodded and made her way to Grace room, she was a bit baffled, the madam has never treated her like that, she was nice to her the day of the interview, why she was so hostile now, she could not figured out

"mom, why are you been like that towards Jane, the poor girl is only doing her job, besides it was Chris who asked her to go to the company, is something wrong?" Grace inquired

"I don't have to explain anything to you, I don't like how she hovers around my son, period, now leave me alone, I have to rest" Maria said and pushed Grace out of her room

she honestly didn't mean to be like that with her, but she can't just seem to explain the sense of uneasiness she feels towards Jane, she does reminds her of someone but she doesn't know who exactly, she can't seem to remember

Grace got to her room and met Jane on the couch, she seem lost in thought, she must be sad at how mom treated her ' she thought

Jane noticed Grace and quickly jerked up from the couch " you are back" she stated

"yes and you don't have to do that when you see me, there's no need to be scared, I consider you a friend and a sister, okay?" Grace said

"okay" Jane agreed shyly

"I'm sorry about my mom, she's not always like that, she's probably in a bad mood these days, must be stress or something" Grace said

"I totally understand, it's fine, she's my boss after all, how can I get offended, I dare not if I still value my job" Jane said

"it's fine, you want to go shopping?" Grace asked

"uhhnnn?" Jane was surprised, infact she was shocked, shopping, she has never gone shopping before in her entire life

"shopping, I need to get some new clothes, you can pick some things for yourself and for Chris too" Grace said

"oh okay, I will go get my bag, I will be downstairs" Jane said but when she got to the door, she suddenly stopped and turned around

Grace noticed her reluctance and asked "is something wrong" she asked

"are you sure the madam won't have a problem with this" Jane asked worriedly

"oh that, she doesn't have to know we are going shopping together, I can't just say you are helping me with the bags" Grace said

"oh okay I will be downstairs then" Jane said grinning

Grace and Jane got to the boutique, Grace had earlier called the owner of the boutique, it was the most expensive boutique in the country, it not just for anybody, it was for the rich of the rich, the highest of the society, she had also called her personal shopper, there were both waiting at the entrance of the boutique

They both alighted from the car, it was a limited edition car, it was gifted to her by her brother as a birthday gift last year

Grace got everyone's attention has she stepped out of the car, the passerbys already guessed who it was, there was only ten of that car in the world and only the Smith's family had two of it, so they knew it was either Chris or Grace

everyone started taking pictures, there were wowed, it's not easy to come across the most popular actress in the country, they were going to seize the opportunity

Grace immediately regretted not taking some bodyguards with her, Maria had insisted but she refused, she didn't want to attract unnecessary attraction, but it turned out she was wrong after all

Grace and Jane quickly got into the boutique with the help of the owner and some staffs, but it didn't stop people from taking pictures
