Family techniques

"You live here?"

Taking a look at the house in front of him, Jun didn't know what he should have expected.

"Is something wrong with it?" Orochi asked.

"Its... just so ordinary." He answered honestly.

"Ordinary? What were you expecting?" He said looking at the white haired boy with a strange look.

"I don't know! The way you talked about our clan made it sound like we were some ultra rich yet secretive demon hunting organisation so I thought we'd have something a bit more epic than this."

After defeating both Saeko and Nobume, Kariya informed him that he would be spending some time at his ancestor's house learning the Kusanagi family techniques along side his cousin. He also said that he didn't need to take Daruku or Sakura with him as they will be staying at the Busjima residence for a period of time.

"*Sigh* When I was your age I was just happy to have a roof over my head." Orochi reminisced.

"When you my age, world war 2 hadn't even happened yet." Jun retorted.

Takeru stood at the side of Orochi and listened to the two of them quarrel while feeling left out.

---

The inside of the house was just as ordinary as its exterior. A simple kitchen and living room, a single bathroom and 3 bedrooms.

Due to Jun living in luxury for the past 6 years he found it quite unsettling to return to the house of the working class.

"Its... very nice." He managed to force out.

Rolling his whited out eyes, Orochi showed Jun around and told him the times that they would be training. Leaving the young boy alone in his room, Orochi left to make dinner as the sun was already setting.

'It seems most of my days will be focused on training... Might as well check on how that cousin of mine is doing.'

Remembering the scene where Orochi told Takeru to leave the room after just learning of his sister's predicament made Jun feel somewhat sorry for him.

Closing the door behind him he knocked on Takeru's door.

"What do you want!" He said with a sour look on his face.

'He must still be pissed at me beating him in our spar.'

Putting on a friendly smile Jun barged into his room and jumped onto his bed.

"HEY!"

"Calm down, I'm just here to see how you're doing, I don't want to start a fight."

'Not like you'd win anyway.'

Realizing that he didn't come with hostile intent, Takeru eventually managed to calm down... although he still had that annoyed look on his face.

Seeing his clenched fists Jun knew that there was something he wanted to ask him.

"*Sigh* Go ahead and ask your question, I'll do my best to answer it."

"H-How are you so strong!!" He blurted out.

"Strong? Is this because I beat you?"

Although he didn't answer the look on his face conveyed more than words ever could.

'*Sigh* What a brat... but he is family.'

"The reason I'm so strong is because I've trained longer than you, I've got more talent than you, and I'm physically and mentally superior to you in every way." Jun decided not to sugar coat it and told him the truth.

In his eyes lying to him wouldn't be beneficial to his growth and he didn't want to waste time coming up with a bullshit excuse. Jun's a realist, not someone who believes that they gain strength with the power of love, friendship and all that other bullshittery. Nope, reality isn't that kind. Even in an anime world such as this one Jun still carries these ideals from his previous life.

Hearing the brutal truth caused Takeru's shoulders to slump.

'Did I break his spirit?'

"Why do you want strength anyway?" He asked the solemn faced child.

"My sister... I couldn't protect her, everyone... mom... dad... died... they died and I couldn't do a damn thing to protect them!! Kiseki asked me to kill her... after killing our entire clan she looked at me with tears rolling down her face and begged me to kill her... and I froze... the first request my sister ever gave to me and I ended up freezing... and now I find out that she's being experimented on! How could I not want the power to protect her!! I already failed her once... I won't let that happen again... never again."

At this point in the conversation Takeru fell silent as he thought back on the day he lost everything.

'Well shit... that was heavy.'

"Look Takeru... I can't imagine seeing my family dead in front of me and I won't pretend to know what you're going through... but I can promise you one thing."

Lifting his head up slightly, his eyes met with Jun's.

"I promise that if you can't save her within 10 years... I'll do it myself."

"Y-You'll save Kiseki?" He stuttered.

"Obviously, she's family and family look out for each other." He smiled.

Walking up to Takeru he placed his hand on his shoulder and gave him an encouraging smile.

"So stop stressing about whether or not you can save her. Just train as hard as you can. And if your still not as strong as you need to be to get her... Then at least you've got me as your backup."

After saying that he left Takeru to ponder on his words while he returned to his room.

==========================================================

It had been a week since Jun had started training in the Kusanagi style techniques and he had admit that they were amazing. It may be due to his up and coming demonic nature but the double edge style really sat well with him compared to the True Light Style... This was because unlike the True Light Style, the Double Edge Style focused on surpassing the limits of the human body to utilize its most deadly of techniques. And considering the fact that Jun's body already surpassed the level of humans, these techniques feel like they were practically made for him.

An example of this is the technique known as Soumatou: An ability that accelerates the brain's functions to help the user react to and assist in combat.

If a human were to perform this technique multiple times it would lead to them receiving both internal and external injuries. Jun obviously didn't have this problem.

Other techniques that caught his interest were Demon's heart, Rain dragon's charge and Ama no Habakiri.

Demon's Heart: An upgraded version of the Soumatou that has the user's brain constantly accelerating to the point that they perceive the entire world stopping. It is said that if the Soumatou is a technique that humans should not have access to, then the Demon's Heart is a technique that demon's should not try to surpass. This state also significantly shortens the user's lifespan upon usage.

Ama no Habakiri: A technique used once the user accelerates beyond the limits of mass and clears the limit of speed. A single attack that releases an explosion that is equal in power of a 2-kilometer wide nuclear blast. The easiest way to use this technique is to be under the affects of Demon's Heart as the world will essentially stops for the users and allows them to reach a speed their normal body cannot.

For Jun this one was quite interesting as he thought that if he was able to move faster than the speed of light, then he would be able to execute the technique without having to rely on Demon's Heart. If he had to scale that speed to any anime characters he knew in this world... He would have to be faster than Vasto lorde Ichigo in order to employ the technique... But since he had an entire 10 years ahead of him he wasn't worried that he would reach that speed... After all, he still had his devil triggers.

Rain Dragon's Charge: An ability originally used to slay dragons. The user plants his blade by the base of the dragon's neck, where the beasts' arms and tail were not able to reach him, and drives the blade down its back and charges downward towards the tail.

Considering this world had dragons like the Great Red, Jun thought that this technique would be useful if he ever came into conflict with the beast.
