Imprisoned by the CEO

“You will have to marry me and bear me a child.”  “What the fuck?!” Logic flew out of the window when Grace heard him say that. “Excuse me, what did you just say?”  Maybe, she was the one who had heard him wrong. It could have been anything except marrying him and giving him a child.  “You heard me,” Christian tsked, “but I’ll repeat it. Marry me and have my child.”  Her mouth opened and gaped at me. In her mind, she was trying to make sense about what was going on. How in the world had it come to be? What in the world could make the situation come to this?!  “No?” Grace replied, but then realized that the word was not firm enough. “No.” she said again. Christian frowned, and it seemed so innocent like he had not asked her the most unbelievable thing. “Why not? I thought you wanted to help me. You offered.”  “I offered my help, my brain, my support not my,” she hesitated, “stomach!”  What was the word for it? “Womb,” he provided.  “Yes!” She slapped her hand on the table. “You don’t get my womb!”   “I don’t?” He challenged.  “No!”  “What if helping me out means Lorelai coming out of a coma?”  Grace felt her heart drop. “What?”  Christian nodded. “What if helping me out, agreeing to what you have to do for me, means bringing your grandmother out of the, that she is in?”  ******** Grace  was one strong girl and with the people she put her trust in, that was only a small number, she knew she could conquer the world, or at least she thought to herself.  When her best friend proposed a deal that could change their lives, she made a decision that was going to be mutually beneficial to both of them.  But one renovation led to many and everything has been just a game, a manipulation from him. Everything was full of deceit, lies, planning and plotting against her. Every single thing, right down the fact that only he had been her friend…  Everything was a lie and she had been living it, willingly.  Tropes; Friends to lovers, office romance, best friends, frenemies, marriage of convenience, possessive villainous and morally gray heroes!

Agency Traitor- III

He knew?!

Grace closed her mouth as Gavin opened his. "What? No! I can do who is for all of this and that is her."

Alejandro calmly shook his head. "Miss has not received any kind of payments apart from her salary from the company. We had it checked."

They did? Was that legal?

"It is in your contract. Due to safety reasons, they can check your financial statements." Clara cut in and told her. She must've seen the quizzical expression on her face.

Was it legal? Grace nodded nonetheless but she did not approve of it. Why was this not mentioned when the contract was being signed? This should have been an over the table conversation.

"Gavin, upon checking your financial statements I found out quite a few thousands you have been taking from my company. Not to mention, you have been paying your rent in all cash to your landlord, who has been quite suspicious of your activities. Great lady, told me about all the diamonds and purchases your wife has recently been enjoying herself with. Would you care to explain that?"

Holy shit.

Gavin has been the one to steal and have been naming it on her? How long had all of this been going on for?!

"I—I have not stolen anything. The suspense account shit is made up. You check with the money truly is—'' Two kncoks came on the door and they looked towards it.

The door opened and two police officers stepped into the room.

"Officers," Alejandro stood up followed by everyone, who was sitting, "this is the man I was talking about."

"Gavin Montreal." The officer moved towards Gavin with handcuffs in his hand. "You are under arrest for theft and.."

Holy shit, Gavin was getting arrested and right in front of her eyes. The officer read him his rights as he tied Gavin's hands behind his back and got him out of the office. Alejandro followed them while talking to the other officer.

Grace watched it all happen and stared at the door even after everyone had walked out. She was still in shock.

"Grace," Clara touched her shoulder. "Why don't you sit with me for a moment."

Still trapped in the shock, Grace sat down, keeping her eyes on Clara. "I am safe, right? I've not done anything and you checked my statements and checked Gavin's statements. He was the one who was the thief so that means I'm safe."

"Yes, he was." She agreed and Grave noticed that. She only agreed to that bit.

"What? What is it?"

Clara smiled but it seemed more sad than happy. " yes, he was the one who had been stealing, but you had been the one who failed to understand it and report it to me."

"H-he what's the wonder who taught me everything. This is my first job out of college. How was was I supposed to know to report him—"

"Grace, you are a finance manager. The suspense account should have kicked off your bells and you should have come to me. There was no suspense account for any of the departments in the agency. Not for the branch but the agency itself. You should have come to me the moment everything started being added into the suspense account, just because the finances were missing."

Clara continued, "they were missing. They had no address of where they came from and where they went. That was suspicious activity and from the looks of air, anyone would say that you were involved in it because you did not raise any alarms."

Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit.

"Yo-you mean.."

Clara nodded.
