Chapter 10 | Marriage

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

"Aren't you excited?" Cassy questioned as she brushed my hair.

"Not really!" I shrugged.

"Well, I met some cute guys at the hall this morning!" Cassy announced.

"Yeah, your Cassy. You always meet cute guys every morning!" Amber rolled her eyes.

I wanted to add something, when the doors flew open. My mum poked her head, and smiled at us.

"Hi girls!"

"Hi Anna!" they replied. My mum instead that she be called by her first name.

"Hurry up though. The wedding is starting in about thirty minutes" she replied.

We all nodded and gave her a tight lipped smile, which she returned.

I smiled at my reflection. My hair as uo in some kind of hairstyle that I didn't know the name too.

But I did know that I looked gorgeous. "Wow Cassy. Maybe you're not so bad at doing my makeup!"

"Yeah right! I was never even bad before" she replied.

"Omg!" I totally love this dress!" Amber gushed. Stopping me from saying my comeback.

" Yeah they look pretty good. It's even in my favourite colour! "Cassy added.

" Of course Cassy. You love all the colours of the rainbow" Amber rolled her eyes.

I snickered at that.

I stood up, and went over to the dress. Picking up my rose-gold dress.

I helped Amber with her zipper. Cassy helped me with mine. While Amber helped Cassy with her's.

We all took turns looking at ourselves in the floor length mirror.

"Gorgeous!" Amber whispered.

"Breathtaking!" Cassy breathed.

"OK" I said.

"Aren't you going to sy something else?" Cassy asked.

"What? Ilook like rose-gold iPhone" I shrugged.

"You're so dark!" Amber smirked.

"I'm not really. Look at them. I look like a rectanglar cardboard. I mean how are this even legal to be worn by humans. I look like an alien" I said making an alien face.

They both giggled and smiled at me,"So I get that you're not happy about this wedding?" Amber asked.

"I'm happy. What makes you say that?" I asked back.

"That fact that you just degraded your body !" Cassy replied.

"That doesn't even make sense!"

"You said that you looked like an iPhone and a cardboard box? That's literally what you say every time you don't like something" Amber explained.

"oh" I thought. My mind going back to all the degrading things Dylan provided to me daily.

I guess it's just a bad habit.

I grabbed my matching mini purse, off the table. Checking the time.

"We better hurry before you're mom chops our head off" Cassy giggled.

I nodded in response. Dashing after my best friends towards the wedding.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

To say that this place was huge was an understatement. I wasn't even joking.

I was a millionaire's daughter anyway. So I knew what massive was. And my mother's new wedding just fit under that category.

I estimated about five hundred thousand guests, and I wasn't even going to add the waiters and waitress, and all the other staffs.

I took a deep gulp, and scanned the crowd once again. It wasn't crowded our anything. Since everyone was seated, and that meant that everyone could see me too.

I was the last one trailing behind cassy, and Amber on the aisle.

We were given rose petals to throw on the floor as we walked.

It was kind of hard to do. Since everyone's eyes were focused on me.

Or maybe that's what I thought.

I finally reached the end, and joined cassy, and Amber at the back of the room.

"How cool was that?" Amber asked.

"Awesome! You guys know those cute boys that I mentioned earlier? Well they were literally flirting with me, as I walked" Cassy gushed.

Amber and I rolled our eyes at her. We had a few more minutes to join the crowd, before the bride, or my mother arrived.

I couldn't believe it actually. I sat up, my back straightned on my chair. As the doors from the entrance opened wide. A woman in a sparkly white long wedding gown was shown.

I couldn't see her face, but I could bet thta she was smiling.

She was definitely one of the fastest people that I've seen walk the aisle. Cause she basically skipped, which made me wondering how she didn't fall.

As she got closer to the priest. Stelhan's smile widened making part of his whitened teeth to show.

They were both facing each other. Stephan's smile widneing by the second.

The priests voice echoed through the room.

"So do you Stephan John Smith take Anna Mary Raymond to be your lawfully wedded wife?" he asked.

My breath was caught in my throat.

Stephan cleared his throat, using the microphone in his palms.

"I Stephan John Smith, take you, Anna Mary Raymond. To be my lawfully wedded wife and life-partner.

" I will give you my heart, my soul, my spirit, and my body. I promise to respect you. To take care of you, and to be with you always. I vow to accept your flaws and your decisions whatever the circumstances. I vow to never hurt you, to be with you. To be with you for richer, or for poorer . For better, or for worse. In sickness and in health. To be by your side, providing comfort, care, and love always. Till death do us apart"

"Wow..I just expected a yes or no!" the priest said into the microphone.

" Now, do you Anna Mary Raymond, take Stephan John Smith to be your lawfully wedded husband?" he asked.

My mom took a deep breath, and I knew he answer was going to be just as long as Stephan's

" I Anna Mary Raymond, take you, Stephan John Smith, to be my lawfully wedded husband. To be with you always. In sickness and in health. For richer, and poorer. For better or for worse. I promise to cherish you, and be with you. To be truthful always. To share all my secrets, and dreams with you. I vow to love you, and trust you. Till death do us apart"

The whole place was silent. I watched as my Stephan's face shone.

"You may now exchange your rings" the priest announced.

Stephan hand took my mum's in his. He held the ring in his other one and slipped it through her's.

She did the same thing for him, taking his hand and slipping a ring into it.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife!"

"You may kisses the bride."

The whole crowd cheered as Stephan's hands went to my mother's revealing her face under the veil.

Stephan gripped her face and pulled it closer to his enveloping his lips on hers.

Everyone around me went out in loud cheers.

He finally let go of her face, letting her get her breath.

She had her hair in a state similar to mine. Which I shamefully did not know. It was a little bit loose, because of the little make out session the did at the altar.

Her makeup was expertly done, and even from when I sat I could see the extra shine, that shone on her face.

And it wasn't because of the makeup. It was because she was...happy.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I really hate parties. And no! I'm not talking about frat parties. I'm talking about high class parties a.k.a the after party of my mom's wedding.

The after party was even bigger and better than the church. With food enough to feed thousands of people.

I had changed to a short black dress, and almost every one else.

I was having a semi good time, with sitting in one of the sofas, and sipping some very expensive champagne.

I scanned the entire hall, until my eyes caught a familiar mop of hair.

Dylan!

His eyes caught mine, and he grinned. Like he was looking for me all this while.

I averted my gaze, and kept my head down. Like that was going to keep him away from me.

My heart was pounding in my chest.

"Hey babe!" A familiar voice greeted.

I sucked in a breath of air, as I straightened my back.

I was going to have to show him who's boss. I could do that right?

"Don't Fucking call me babe! Cause we're over Dylan!" I replied.

"Ha! And you think I care? Well babe let me answer it for you. I don't. I stopped caring a long time ago."

"You know I know that you were probably dropped on the head by you're mother. But I didn't think that all your sense, and what was remaining from your brain was dropped too. I didn't ask you if you cared about me Dylan. I didn't. Now if you'll excuse me, I would like to talk to people worth my time! " I replied making effort to stand up.

I dusted the imaginary dust off my black dress, and stood up.

I felt a hand enclose round my wrist.

"Babe!Don't walk out on me!" Dylan pleaded.

"Let go off me, Dylan!" I whispered not wanting to draw attention to myself.

"Look, I just came here to tell you that you are, have always, and will always be, a good for nothing low life ex. That's it. And I'm not sorry that I cheated on you. I'm only sorry that I did start it earlier" he whispered into my ear.

My mind was blank. All I could think about wa that Dylan was touchimg me. That night. It flashed before my eyes.

I felt my eyes burn. I couldn't cry. I wouldn't cry. Not now, not ever. And certainly not in front of Dyaln.

I tried to release my hand from his grip, but he just tightened it.

"I don't love you Natasha Raymond. I never did, not now, not ever. And I'm sure that no body would want a ridiculous ugly ex like you!" he kept on whispering.

My hand felt hot, because of the contact. I felt like throwing up.

So, I simply spat. I spat in his face making his grip falter.

" What the heck Bitch?" he asked in an angry tone.

" Look, Dylan I don't love you. So stop wasting your time on me, cause you've lost your chance." I spat again.

"Ha! Of course that's what you'll think. You're nothing without me by you're side. Complete nothing !" he called out.

I sucked in a breath. I didn't want to do this. But he asked for it.

I raised my hand up in the air, and stuck his face.

Twice.

The sound of the slap caused some people to turn heads towards our direction, and stare at us.

Perfect. Not not only would I hurt Dyaln physically. I could also bruise his ego among his business partners.

" Go and get some sense Dylan. I don't love you. You're a psychopath. And I told you to never call me babe. We're over. You can never have me back.

And you've just lost a very important thing" I said with a snarl and turned on my heel.

                      ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I walked out of the scene of gently as I could. I didn't look back. I knew people watched the scene, and it was definitely going to reach my parents, and they were going to be mad. But I didn't care. Not now, not ever.

I started running once I was out of the scene. I ran. I didn't cry. I felt different. A good different.

I stopped at the Garden gates. My mom loved flowers so she dedicated at least an acre of land to them. It contained every type of flower that I could think of. From Rose's , to lily's, to sunflowers, to daisy's.

I stepped inside. It wasn't so dark, and was lit by some fairy lights. So I could see where I was going.

I went over to the Rose Bush. I was red and beautiful. I smiled and inhaled the scent. I picked on up, not minding the thorns that pricked my finger. It was hurt, just like my heart. But I didn't care. Not anymore.

I heard a soft breathing from behind me. I turned around to see, a dark silhouette. I walked closer, seeing a familiar mop of dark hair.

Ethan Carson.

"What are you doing here?" he asked not bothering to look at me.

Nice! So not only is this guy a player, he can also sight girls3from afar?

"Not really. Just thinking!" I replied gently, "What about you?"

"Thinking too"

"Oh!"

"I just wanted to thank you--."

"Don't!"

"Do you even know what I wanted to say?" I ask looking down at the soft rose petals.

"Yeah!" he replied cooly.

"Ok!so what did I want to say before you cut me off?" I asked, still not looking up.

"That time at the hospital. You wanted to thank me because of what I did? Well, don't. I don't like you, so don't think otherwise" he explained.

I nodded not saying anything, after a moment of silence.

"Don't think that I like you, cause I still hate you" he piped in after a moment of silence.

"Why did you have to ruin the moment?" I asked faking anger.

"Cause I don't like you!"

"Yeah buddy you don't need to remind me. The feeling is very mutual!" I replied with a smirk, "Very, very Mutal!"
