You're Immortal Witch

Tonight, there is not much conversation. Jules tells Clare their first plan after waking up and Clare agrees.

Clare's condition has improved. She has been fine thanks to the medicine from Zoya this morning. After all that, no disturbances of any kind came to her and she felt at ease.

They are all tired of preparing all the planning materials and will be done tomorrow morning. Because it's late and tomorrow has to work early in the morning, after asking the teacher for leave, they all fell asleep.

A silent night, the moon did not shine fully and seemed darker. All of the Neuvrost Academy students were fast asleep, including Clare. He was tired of preparing everything to go somewhere based on Luke's instructions. Clare slept soundly and quietly, barely moving.

Suddenly, another whisper was heard. Indistinct whispers entered Clare's ears until Clare's dream. In the dream, Clare was in a wilderness and there wasn't a single human there. Forest with big trees and dry leaves. Those big trees rarely have leaves and look dry. The fog blocked the view and Clare walked aimlessly, looking around her warily.

Various monsters passed by startling her, but no one approached her Clare doesn't understand why she's here. She couldn't even use any of her powers. The fog was getting denser and blocking the view, Clare couldn't see anything but the fog that was getting whiter and thicker.

As she continued on her way, Clare stopped when she saw the figure of a half-lizard werewolf exactly ten meters away. Clare's eyes widened, her body trembled, and her heart was racing. She's frozen and can't walk anymore. As the creature approached her, Clare felt a pressure that weakened her legs. Clare tried to run, but her foot tripped over the roots and fell.

Clare's hands pressed against the ground, how surprised she was when she saw her hands were almost covered in various kinds of caterpillars. Suddenly Clare pulled back her hand and backed away, she still didn't have time to get up and she felt like she hit something behind her. Clare slowly looked back, a pair of black legs and a large body right in front of her eyes. When he looked up, he could see the large, pointed bite on his ferocious face. It looks like a werewolf's face, but has a lizard-like tail.

Clare opened her eyes wide. No screaming, just shortness of breath. Clare's heart was pounding. As she looked around her, she breathed a sigh of relief realizing it was all just a dream.

Clare forced herself to get up and sit down. She took a glass of water on the nightstand next to his bed and drank it. She wouldn't be able to sleep anymore at this time, if it was a nightmare like that, she was afraid that the dream would continue when she went back to sleep. It was too scary.

Clare looked out the window, again seeing the same look she had seen this morning. The figure of a man all in black stared at him blankly. This time no attacks came. Clare didn't feel as scared as before even though her heart was still beating fast.

Clare wanted to ignore it. Suddenly the voice came again. However, this time it didn't give any emphasis, just mysteriousness.

"You want to know your answer?"

"Come here."

The voice sounded non-threatening intrigued Clare. Surprisingly she no longer felt fear, only curious as when he was summoned by Vrochis to free him from the forbidden room.

Clare got out of bed. Blankly walked out slowly and silently. The door opened by itself, it was because of Clare's power that she finally came out of the dorm. Passed through the halls and exited the academy castle in silence and emptiness.

After leaving the academy, Clare's consciousness returned. She noticed his surroundings and was outside the academy. No one accompanied her or followed her, Clare couldn't feel any presence here. Clare She wanted to go back after feeling the stifling aura outside, but she stopped her intention when she saw someone running towards the forest. Whether it's a boy or a girl, as Clare knows, Clare suddenly chases after him without a second thought.

Clare continued to run after the figure who was getting into the forest. This is a forbidden forest, and Clare knows about it, yet she breaks through anyway. As time goes on, the air gets colder and darker. It's not that it doesn't support its action in the forest and it doesn't show full light. The condition of the forest is very tense, very dark, and very dangerous. Time and time again Clare found many small animals passing by. Either mice, lizards, squirrels, or something else. So far, no strong monsters like before have been found.

Clare's escape stops. She looked around the dark forest alone while catching her breath fast due to exhaustion.

"Am I wrong? I don't have to come here now." Clare mumbled. She realized there was no point in stepping on the figure for no apparent reason, it could just be an illusion due to exhaustion.

Clare sighed again and turned around to return to the academy. But suddenly something made her freeze and she didn't feel his heart was in place. Her eyes widened when he saw the figure of the man all in black she saw this morning, this time more clearly made Clare shudder. Strangely, the fear seemed to have disappeared. She was only surprised because the figure looked similar to the one this morning.

Clare was getting wary. That person's mental attack was very strong. It can make Clare hallucinate and even overly frightened like this morning. It was very dangerous especially in the forbidden forest.

"Who are you?" Clare's voice was cold and alert. She wasn't afraid, just felt an aura of suppression that made her sense danger.

"Who am I?" The man burst out laughing while Clare remained in her alert position. "There's no need to be so wary. I won't kill you."

"Why?"

The man sighed. "Looks like you really forgot about me after a long time no see."

Clare narrowed her eyes and tried to remember who this person was. Then after thinking back, Clare remembered the man who had lured her when it was raining that time to go to a deserted place and fight with Vrochis. What is Vrochis? He really is Vrochis in human form!

"Already know? Good." He laughed again but not as loudly as before.

"Why are you targeting me?" Clare snorted. "Is it because I made you lose your hands and eyes? I think, your hands and eyes should be back again. You can see me, you can also be present in one piece. You came to donate let alone me? What's the head?" Clare was in a completely different state. He became bold, unlike before because he was mentally suppressed by Vrochis. Thanks to Zoya, she returned to being Clare who had just come out of the refining process.

"You look fine." Vrochis was surprised.

"Right, I'm fine," Clare said casually. "Why did you call me? I don't remember having a debt to you. I took your sight, it paid off by you taking my mental. Now we're back to normal."

"Don't you want answers?"

Clare was stunned for a moment then confirmed. "I never believed your answer. When did we become friends who like to exchange information? We were enemies."

"You don't know who the enemy is and who isn't. You don't even know yourself that all the people closest to you have been cheating on you."

Clare's face darkened. He doesn't like it when his friends are insulted like that and he gets angry. "Say what you want to say. I don't have much time."

Vrochis laughed loudly at Clare's expression. "Honey, I just wanted to give you a choice. I don't want to use violence and confront your troublesome friends. I just wanted to face you," he said pausing to see Clare looking serious listening then continuing. "The purpose of the mission the academy made, was not to kill me. But protect you."

Clare squinted in disbelief. Since when did the mission change and he became the special one? That doesn't make sense! If that's true, then how is it different from killing Vrochis? Wasn't Clare the one who caused the trouble first?

"Sounds really nice and treats you special. But you know, how do you think of them? You are just a reckless and stubborn child, as you are currently going to the forest quietly without a companion. That's what made them lower their trust in you so you weren't told."

"To me, it doesn't matter. Protect or not, I just want to correct my mistakes."

"It's not your fault. You know why the old man wanted to protect you? Because you are the tool. You are a very rare and special Immortal Blood. It is a descendant of your ancestors who are now dead because they were killed. Humans regard Immortal Blood as a dangerous threat, whoever finds it must be killed because it will destroy the balance of nature. Your ancestors chose you, your power is not ordinary, not just telekinesis. If you train it properly and find it to be another power, you can perform magic without spells. You are an immortal witch!"

"Did your friends tell you? They all know while you don't. Do they really think you're important? They only care about their own duty and don't tell you the truth because they feel you are dangerous."

"Shut up." Clare spoke flatly and quietly. She was controlling her emotions so they wouldn't jump. But Vrochis didn't listen.

"Even you are considered a danger by your own family. You know why you're always frozen? That is refining. Did your friends tell you? No isn't it? Refining is purifying the heart and mind. After the process is complete, your strength will become pure, your nature and way of thinking will become like being reborn. But your memory is still there, it's just that your way of thinking has changed to that of a child. "Shut up...." Clare couldn't stand it anymore. But she was still trying to control her emotions.

Clare screamed, her emotions running wild causing her strength to ooze out and shatter the surrounding rocks. Even the trees were about to collapse from its power and the animals were frightened.

"I'm not evil!"

"Then what about those who think you are evil? Even your own family."

"No... I'm not a bad person," Clare muttered as she shook her head in frustration and then glared at Vrochis. "You want to make me a bad person this way? I'm not like that. Even though what you say is the truth, but you don't know me. You don't know my friends and my family! What do you really want?"

"You're wasting your own power, it's a waste. I'm offering you something more profitable. You can become immortal without a gap, you can get real immortality. Immortality really is not being able to die. I can help you."

Clare frowned. Why did Vrochis want to help him?

"We just need to work together. I have chosen you to be my body. I just need to unite with you and we will get true immortality. I am already immortal, but if the two immortals unite, then it will become immortal without gaps. You can't die even if you've been killed."
