A Journey

As the warm rays of the sun was hitting against his face, Xue Feng's eye lid opened. His mind was muddled, but soon everything became clear. Atfirst he thought he was in afterlife, but looking around himself he knew it was clearly not.

The whole thing shocked him to the core, he knew that he was suppose to die last night. He then began questioning his knowledge if the supposed heavenly law was true or not. However, he soon dismissed that notion as from his years of travel he knew that knowledge was true and he also met quite a few people nearing the end of their lifespan which further disapproved that notion.

Xue Feng sat under the tree thinking maybe if he was blessed, thinking the heavens gave him a second chance at life. However, that notion too was soon broken, as he still felt the weakness of the old age. His body was still old and a bit wrinkled.

After pondering over the matters he left the mountain, and walked towards his small hut. While sitting on the bed he took a few bits of dried rations to end his hunger. He didn't know what else to do, his old life has only consisted of him only sailing the boat to help travellers reach their destination.

Soon Xue Feng heard some knocks knowing it was another traveller, he quickly packed and started his normal day again.

In this way, around a year passed. Today, he was not doing his usual work, but instead attended a funeral. The person's name was Ming Xu, everyone used to call him 'Old Ming', although he didn't have many relatives, he was a good man, so many people attended his funeral.

Xue Feng also knew him, as he was the son of one of his friends. He died at the age of 70. Which is considered normal, as most mortals die at this age. Eventhough Xue feng looked old, but he still looked younger than most people in their 70s. So most people thought, he came here as a friend.

After the funeral, Xue Feng left. Although he was bit sad, he calmed his heart and went home.

Soon another year passed, then a decade, and more. Throughout the years, he knew his condition was not normal, he also stopped sailing, to avoid any suspicions about his age.Though, he avoided talking to anyone, he knew it might be dangerous later on.

Today Xue Feng was 134 years old, but his body still felt like how it was in his 60s. As time passed he started to be more and more suspicious about himseelf, though he was old, his fire of life was still burning. Eventhough the flame was weak, it never stopped.

After thinking things through, he decided that he should try to do what he has been doing in his youth and middle years. Yes, travelling. He wanted to roam the world, this time not for any lucky encounters.

Throughout his decades of work, he had saved up quite a bit of fortune, however he didn't earn much, but those small amounts that he gathered slowly became quite a lot.

Xue Feng wore a long grey robe, and kept the essentials in his bag, however it looked more like a suitcase. As for his boat, it was still there, waiting to be sailed by it's master. He then left the hut, that he built himself which accompanied for more than 5 decades.

Xue Feng then gave everything one last look and left, knowing he might never come back here again.
