Ice-Ice Fruit in Marvel

Ethan Hayes had traveled to the dangerous world of Marvel comics. Thankfully, he was equipped with a system that allowed him to obtain the power of the Frozen Fruit—without the curse that typically came with it. “Damn it, Ethan!” Gwen Stacy shouted. “This is my newest black-and-white Spider suit, and now it’s torn to shreds!” Wanda Maximoff crossed her arms, giving him a stern look. “Ethan, that move with flipping the Eiffel Tower? You’re still not doing it right. And for the record, the door to my room isn’t closing tonight… You know what that means.” Natasha Romanoff, also known as the Black Widow, sighed in frustration as she glanced at the thermometer. “Why does it hit 40°C one second, then drop to 0°C the next? What’s going on with you?!” Audiobook version: https://youtube.com/@senatusquepopulus

Chapter 67: Green Goblin Harry Attacks, Goal: Immortality

"Connery, Osborn belongs to my family. I won't let you take it away from me," Harry Osborn growled, glaring at Connery.

Connery looked at Harry with a condescending smile, as if he were looking at a pitiful child. "Osborn is a publicly traded company, Harry. Your father held on to it for far too long. Now, it's changed hands. You've been removed as president by the board. You still have a seat on the board, though—thanks to your shares."

Harry sneered. "I thought you'd acquired 51% of Osborn's shares, but it turns out you're just another lackey. Always playing the lapdog, Connery."

Connery didn't react. "You have no idea how powerful the new owner is. Maybe if you transfer your shares to him, he might help you get revenge."

Harry was momentarily taken aback. Someone I know?

He recalled Peter mentioning that their classmate, Ethan Hayes, had been buying up a significant number of Osborn Group shares. At the time, Harry had laughed it off. That orphaned Chinese kid?

Of all his classmates, Ethan was the one Harry thought the least of. He considered Ethan's quiet nature a sign of weakness, making him an easy target for bullying. Yet somehow, word had spread that Ethan had found protection from someone in the mafia.

"Ethan Hayes? Is it Ethan?" Harry asked, his voice tinged with disbelief.

"I believe you'll find out soon enough, Harry. Our new boss is quite keen on you," Connery said with a smug smile.

At that moment, Peter Parker entered the president's office. "Harry, are you alright?" He turned to Connery, nodding respectfully. "Good evening, Mr. Connery."

Connery glanced at Peter, the young man Harry had placed in the lab. He had heard about Peter's connections to Dr. Connors.

"Peter Parker, you're fired," Connery said bluntly, clearly suspicious of Peter's role in recent events.

"What?" Peter's mind raced, but deep down, he cursed HYDRA for not helping him take over Osborn Group sooner.

"Security, escort them out and revoke their access to company data," Connery ordered coldly. Dr. Connors had copied crucial data from Osborn's biological experiments, creating a massive security breach that forced the company to upgrade its internal systems.

"Peter, let's go," Harry said, his cold gaze fixed on Connery.

Connery shrugged. "I'm just a tool in all of this, Harry. At least I can say I was president of Osborn for a day."

As security began to remove them, Peter whispered to Harry, "What now?"

Harry remained calm, though he knew his position was gone. "I need to take care of something first, Peter. I'll meet you later."

Peter nodded. As much as Harry had been kind to him, Peter knew Osborn was lost. HYDRA would likely give up on trying to reclaim it now that Ethan had control.

Harry headed to his Ferrari, his mind racing. It was time to leave New York, to follow Dr. Connors to the secret lab HYDRA had prepared for them. For now, he was no match for Ethan. But when he returned, all of New York would bow before him.

Back at Osborn Manor, Harry donned the Green Goblin armor and soared over the city on his glider. He quickly tracked Ethan's location through satellite positioning—he was on Long Island.

After leaving Wells Fargo, Ethan had gone to Long Island Manor. There, he relaxed in a beach chair, watching the sunset over the Atlantic with a beer in hand, enjoying the fruits of his labor. His wealth had surged by another three billion USD, thanks to his Stark Industries shares.

As Ethan sipped his beer, he thought about Connery and Harry. Although he had no personal grudge against Harry, the future required him to take full control of Osborn Group. Harry was merely collateral damage.

Flying over the city, Harry Osborn spotted Ethan lounging on the beach. Without hesitation, Harry launched a barrage of missiles from his glider, aiming directly at Ethan.

"My beach!" Ethan muttered, heartbroken as explosions tore up the sand, leaving a massive crater. Despite the chaos, he stood unfazed in the midst of the flames, protected by a barrier of water.

Looking up, Ethan spotted the familiar figure of the Green Goblin hovering above him. So, Harry has finally snapped, he thought, amused by the impatience of his former classmate.

Harry was stunned. The flames hadn't even touched Ethan, who remained seated on his beach chair as if nothing had happened.

"Impossible," Harry muttered, recalling Connery's warning. "The new boss has abilities beyond your imagination."

Driven by fury, Harry dove down on his glider, aiming straight for Ethan.

"For your face? Is this how you come at me?" Ethan raised his hand, and the sea began to churn. A massive water dragon erupted from the waves, grabbing Harry in its jaws and dragging him underwater.

The Green Goblin struggled, trying to escape the whirlpool's pull, but the immense power left him helpless. Before long, Harry was slammed against the ocean floor, only to be dragged back to shore by an invisible force.

In just three minutes, Harry had experienced the closest brush with death he'd ever had.

Ethan stood over him, sipping his beer. "My dear classmate, Harry Osborn, why the hostility?"

Harry, still in his Green Goblin mask, gasped for breath. "How… how do you know it's me?"

Ethan chuckled. "A mask doesn't hide your identity from me, Harry."

With a growl, Harry removed his mask and downed a third of the beer Ethan had handed him. "You stole my family's company," he spat. "The Osborn Group belongs to me."

"Osborn is a listed company, Harry. I own more shares than you, so I'm in control now. It's simple economics." Ethan shrugged.

Harry's eyes flashed with anger. "I'll take it back. I'll make you regret this."

Ethan shook his head. "You're too naive. You attacked me, Harry. Do you really think I'll let you walk away alive?"

Harry's eyes widened in fear, and he flung a barrage of flying darts at Ethan. But with a mere flick of his finger, Ethan deflected all the projectiles effortlessly.

Panic overtook Harry as he realized just how outmatched he was.

"Don't be foolish, Harry. Your life is in my hands now," Ethan said, his voice calm. "If I wanted you dead, you wouldn't still be breathing."

Harry, still trembling, asked, "What do you want?"

"I need your shares in the Osborn Group. I don't want anyone challenging my control."

"Never," Harry snarled. "I'll die before I let you have them."

Ethan smirked. "Don't you want to know who really killed your father?"

Harry froze, caught off guard. "It wasn't Dr. Connors?"

"No. Dr. Connors was your father's colleague. He wouldn't have done it."

Harry's resolve began to crumble.

"Give him the shares," a voice in Harry's mind whispered, the demonic presence within him urging him to survive. "We need to live, Harry. We need to find out the truth."

Harry clenched his fists, torn between anger and fear. "Fine. I'll give you the shares—but you have to tell me who killed my father."

Ethan smiled. "Deal. Mr. Smith from Wells Fargo will contact you for the transfer. Once it's done, you'll get your answer."

With that, Harry took off on his glider, disappearing into the night sky.

As Ethan watched Harry fly off, Black Widow Natasha Romanoff approached, her arms crossed.

"My dear sister Natasha, what brings you here?" Ethan greeted her with open arms, but Natasha sidestepped his embrace.

"The cold wind from Central Park brought me here," she replied dryly.

Ethan feigned innocence. "Ah, yes. I was just walking through the park, minding my own business, when a bunch of thugs decided to attack me. Naturally, I had to defend myself."

Natasha raised an eyebrow. "More than thirty men died, Ethan."

"Then you should take it up with General Ross. He was the one who sent them," Ethan said, leading her inside the villa.

"What did you say to Ross? He hasn't mentioned it since," Natasha asked.

Ethan didn't bother hiding the truth. "I simply reminded him that the U.S. has twelve aircraft carrier battle groups. If we were to escalate things, I could sink them all, leaving the country defenseless. He made his choice."

Natasha's eyes widened. "You threatened to destroy the entire fleet?"

Ethan shrugged. "It's not a threat, Natasha. It's a fact."
