CHAPTER Four - A NORMAL VACATION II

Three weeks passed. Nadia spent most of her time sleeping, eating and helping her mum at her fashion clotheline.

She knew that fashion was part of Africa's trade and a source of income to the economy.

With the various cloth types, all they needed was the perfect styles. And her mom was an excellent fashionista.

Nadia preferably loved the bikinis made from the kente cloth.

She loved wearing them on summer holidays and she made sure to pack a few into her bags.

She was crouched over a table in front of her mom when her phone rang.

"Hey Kez"

"Hey Nhardie. How are you?"

Asked the jolly voice on the other end of the line.

"I'm good. What's up?"

"Remember owing me one?"

Nadia snorted and Keziah chuckled.

"When I tell you this, you will owe me two"

"Alright. I have something you are going to love anyway. So tell me, what is the big stuff?

" I looked through my dad's things___"

"You did wah?"

"Don't scold. I know and I also told him later. Now the big stuff is, a multibillionaire is looking for a secretary. Trust me Nhardie, the job is huge and the money is huger."

"So I got the job?"

"I emailed the job description and other things you need to know."

"Does he work with your dad?"

"Nope. A friend of my dad's informed him and that's how I heard it. So I called after confirming. Oh My God, the job has a lot of vacations in it.

Uou'll be travelling to a lot of countries if you get it. Should I quit my job and take it?"

"Don't you dare"

They both laughed.

"I'll send my letters by mail today."

"Okay. I heard the boss is actually on a trip to Africa. You might bump into him."

Keziah said in her usual excited voice.

"I gotta go. Brandon is picking me up for dinner tonight. I'm getting a make over. Catch one of those handsome boys before you come."

"Okay. Thanks Kez."

"Say hi to Karen. Love ya"

Nadia hunged up and dropped her phone on the table.

"That was Keziah?" her mom asked after the call.

"Yeah. If luck is on my side, I'll get a job soon."

Nadia walked to the door.

"I'm going home and oh mom,

She paused and continued.

" Make me the sexiest bikini ever. One tgat Kez is gonna feel like she owes me hundreds. "

Karen laughed.

" Of course. I know how she prefers them too"

"You sure do." Nadia laughed.

Nadia opened her laptop and sat at the dinner table. She loved that place best in the entire house.

The mahogany table and chairs around it, the table mats and everything. She really loved the dinning room.

She also loved the fact that her mom was moving with the trend and had Wi-Fi in every part of the house.

Her employees were blessed.

She opened her email and read through Kez's mail.

She spent the rest of the day sending her recommendation and applications to the email Kez had attached to the file.

Everything sent, she recited a short prayer and logged out.

"What happens next, only time can tell"

She muttered.

She spent most of her days checking for new emails but none seemed to be what she was waiting for.

She had already spent a month and she was flying to Hampshire tomorrow.

She opened her laptop the third time that day and sat behind it on the dinner table.

"Nothing yet?"

Her grandma asked

"Mm. This is the last time I'm going to check it."

She clicked on her email and saw it. She opened the mail and read through. She shouted excitedly.

When she was happy, she behaved like a child and thats how her mom saw her.

"I've selected for an interview on Monday."

"Thats good news. You'll have a day to rest before Monday"

"Yeah"

"I'm going to miss you"

"I'll miss you more mom"

She wrapped her hands around her mom from behind as she served dinner.

"Your flight is early tomorrow. You done packing?" her grandma asked.

"Long time grandma. Long time.

Karen gave her daughter a tight hug and placed a kiss on her forehead.

" I really do feel like a child when you do that. "

" You are my child Gift" Karen said smiling. Nadia turned to her grandma and gave her a hug.

After the hugs, she removed her bags from the trunk. She now had an extra bag.

"Call me whenever you miss me too much" She said teasingly.

"We certainly will. We'll be there for x'nas too. Take good care of yourself till then"

"Yes Ma. Goodbye guys. I love you."

She picked her bags and walked away. She was going to miss Ghana but she had bigger plans.

Her time and life were scheduled and she needed to move with the flow.

She closed her eyes. The flight was going to be a long one.
