I Wish to Pursue the Goddess, but The World Begs to be Saved

Urapus was the First Hero. A being hailed as the Strongest Human. The Hope of Mankind. Yet, like any other Hero, he was killed. He was killed by the dissatisfaction of the public and the elites that were threatened by his ever-growing power and influence. He was detained to public execution, erasing any of his valor and glory. He wanted to be selfish, he wanted to resist, to remain indifferent, and to treat everything he did as inconsequential. He wanted to break the shackles that bound him to his execution and destroy everything. But he felt unbearably tired. He was exhausted. Bearing the weight of the world on his own from the fire of extinction, and was pushed by that world itself. In the end, he found no meaning to execute what he sought, and considered his death as a method to rest. And when he was battered and found nothing to hold on to life, in his death, she appeared. A Goddess in human flesh. She didn't wish for anything out of him, the Hero. She just wanted him to live. To be happy. She offered him a chance to live again, for his karma is bright golden, like a pillar of heaven. But Urapus wished to die. Yet, against all odds, the heavenly woman gives him a reason to live. It was just a simple banter from her, jesting about being proposed by him should he reach her height of power in his next life. His heart beats fast. It beats by her voice. And a surging fire was ignited. Like a dying flame that was rekindled by the surging waves of wind. Urapus reasoned with countless reasons to die, but his rekindled heart offered him countless reasons to live. "Propose to you, huh?" Gazing at her otherworldly visage, his heart beats again. The Former Hero felt alive. He felt the rekindled need to wish for life again. And with a smile, he accepted her proposal. Just to live again, how hard could it be? Yet... [The Hero System has been activated.] He was reborn in the future when his comrades redeemed mankind by acknowledging everything he did. But he wished it was as simple as that. He should be grateful to receive assistance for his growth towards a certain height of power to propose the Heavenly Woman. But something's off... [A transmigrator having a blessing of 10 times talents by binding geniuses. Unfortunately, he has severe Main Character Syndrome. Please take care of him!] [A Sovereign expert was brought back after she died in the future. As the Hero, please ensure her growth and help her awaken her blessing!] [A villainous woman transmigrated into the future with an Evolution System. Her intentions remain unknown. As the Hero, please observe her should she turn violent.] [The Blue Earth was threatened by an extraterrestrial force, and was incapable of resisting its immense force. As the Hero, please!!! Protect me!!!] Urapus had a headache as the world screamed out like a damsel in distress. Aren't you supposed to be a billions of years old world? And what's up with these transmigrators and regressors? Aren't they supposed to be rare? The more Urapus think about it, the more erratic it becomes. And I was supposed to be the 'Hero' in such a chaotic world... Why not make them the heroes then? [None of them are like Urapus!] "Goddamn it!" ps: grammar may not be perfect. I'll try to make it readable.

Another Quest

"Haah!"

Urapus swiped off his sweats as he maintained an insane speed of 200 km/h. The seniors around were dumbfounded, staring at their first-year junior running frantically around the running track.

The running track for Awakeners was vastly different from a normal one. It's almost a thousand times longer!

"Who the hell is that?! Why is he running so fast?"

"Probably just a show-off. Sooner or later, he'll be panting like a dog."

"That's where you're wrong, my friend. That kid has been running at this rate for 2 hours!"

The seniors looked at the one who said it, who had a helpless look as he observed the track.

"If it was Roxanna Harden, then I would have no problem in accepting it. But why is it a damn guy? I don't recall any male cadet with a talent for speed!"

While the boys were confused and frustrated, the girls were trying so hard to take a glimpse of his face. Their big eyes are wide open. But the boy was just too fast.

They looked at a peculiar girl with envy, who had a photo of the said boy.

"Heheh! You guys are not skilled enough!"

"Shut it! You could only do it because of your talent, anyway!"

The girl showed off her 'treasure' in her phone, which is a literal photo of Urapus.

"I can't believe such a handsome junior remains unknown! Just what is wrong with this world?!"

As for Urapus himself, he looked at his progress.

> Circulate your blood 100,000,000 times [54,000/100,000,000]

"Alright, I think it's enough."

The initial expectation was 100,000 per day, yet he could achieve half of it in just two hours.

Considering it done, now, Urapus wanted to search for a way to get more Hero Points. He scoured around the place, trying to find an opportunity to, ehem, act 'heroically'.

Unfortunately, he noticed that the seniors had already scattered, presumably by the ringing bell. With a helpless look, Urapus followed along with the crowd.

Training Camp was composed mainly of the fields, and even the cadets would be taught and trained there, for most of the time.

Urapus was planning to attend normally until he completed the upgrade requirements. Afterward, he'll focus on breaking through, and maybe pulling some of his, ehem, personal connections to be granted a considerable amount of freedom.

"I'm already at Mortal Realm Stage 7."

With the combined enhancement of the perks, along with the 10 times power coming from the privilege given by the Goddess, Urapus could comfortably contend with a Commander Expert, a Mortal Realm Stage 10 Expert.

He would be able to stand alongside a Mortal Stage 11 expert. As for fighting a Mortal Stage 12 expert, he could only let them trashed him as they please. Sovereign is just a whole another level.

In other words, he is now comparable to a Head of Commanders. Such a feat of power was accomplished at the age of 6. It could be called as unpredecented!

But it's not nearly enough.

Urapus shook his head. He must be patient. He hasn't even unlocked his abilities yet.

When he reached the age of 7, that's when his power would truly reach its peak.

At that time, Urapus could confidently compare himself with his past life. And with the perks, he might even be stronger.

"Achieving all that at the age of 7 is a little bit ridiculous."

Of course, afterwards, he wouldn't be as fast. To condensed the 8 extraordinary meridians, he will need a lot of accumulation. Perhaps he needs over 10 years before he can condensed them into completion.

The 8 extraordinary meridians' primary function was to strengthen his foundation even more.

And when it comes to foundation, there's no shortcut. Only diligent practice could achieve it. There are also those tiny meridians... Before he truly reaches his peak, there are still a lot of things to do.

Urapus sat on the field of the First Class, 1-A as he wondered. In just a few years, he could venture outside the Blue Earth to search for the force that gives out the 'test' to have Blue Earth as its requirement for a 'first-grade' evolution as a reward.

The force behind the continuous Cosmic War mankind has been struggling with for hundreds of years.

As for openly oposing them, that depends entirely on what he could accomplish in the future. The SHOP's potential is endless.

"Morning, Urapus."

A white visage sat beside him softly. He doesn't need to glance.

"Hey. How was your sleep last night?"

It was just an idle banter. They talked about mundane things as the cadets gathered on the field. Some boys looked at him suspiciously, a few even outright giving him a hostile look.

Urapus was helpless. What can I do when the most treasured Heiress wanted to be with me?

In the corner of his eyes, a familiar white-haired boy looked at him with a hateful look. Urapus inwardly shook his head.

Letting their heir attend a public institution such as the camp is actually quite a risk. If their heir misbehaves, the one who gets their reputation tarnished would be the family behind the heir, affecting several interests of theirs.

However, the allure of being recognized as a better family amongst the families in an environment full of heirs and receiving recognition and glory couldn't be resisted. Besides, in such an environment, the competitive atmosphere would be intense, encouraging the heir and heiress to do their utmost best.

Unfortunately for the Berlyn Family, their heir, while talented, is trash in human skin. Urapus doesn't want to be so cruel, but the sheer demeanor of what he assumed was a 'global elite' is just straight-up repulsive.

He just couldn't stand it.

After a while, the clock hits 9 AM, and a cold man with worn-out military attire appears from the entrance of the field.

Although his attire may seem filthy, none of the cadets dare to show their disgust. Not even a twitch.

A worn-out uniform signified his struggle in the frontline. It's a sign of valor and glory. No one deserves to show disdain for such a figure.

"Morning, Cadets!"

"Morning, Sergeant!"

The man coldly scrutinized the cadets with his eyes. Every time he saw someone of inadequate posture or realm, he would snort, showing his disappointment and disdain.

However, when he looked at a few of them, a subtle shock could be seen in his eyes before he returned to normal.

Urapus remained indifferent. He no longer needs to conceal his realm. As for those spies, let them focus on him, instead of targeting these unripe, helpless kids.

He's no longer concerned about an ambush.

Although to garner their attention, his exposed talent is quite inadequate. Not 'tempting' enough for them to act out.

Urapus cupped his chin. Maybe he should show his physical prowess if there's a combat assessment.

| Received 1,000 Hero Points!

Urapus widened his eyes.

So it could be done like this!

"So my intention to save people counts as a heroic act..."

Hmm, maybe he shouldn't suppress his heroic and righteous heart too much...

He looked at Roxanna, who kept glancing at him in the corner of her eyes. Urapus smiled gently.

I won't let those bastards ruin your peace. No one could take away that little smile.

| Received 1,000 Hero Points.

Roxanna blushed a little.

"Heh."

A pity. It could only be done if he was genuine. Except for Roxanna, his parents, and maybe Miss Roxy, Urapus honestly doesn't give a damn about anyone.

After a few blatant yet genuine promises to his parents and Miss Roxy, he managed to gather around 10,000 HP, combined with the previous 2,000.

'I'll make sure you meet with your real family. I promise.'

'I will keep you safe from the Outer Forces, Mother, Father...'

"Alright, Maggots! My name is Garrot William. I won't talk much. You guys are just wasting my time, except for a few of you. I don't care about your name except if you're exceptional enough, and I won't answer you if you haven't proven anything yet! Remember, SSS rank is not rare here!"

A few cadets have their faces changed. This is the 1-A field, the place where the best of the current generation gathered. Almost everyone has SSS-rank talents, with a few of them having special constitutions and physiques.

Although they have their ego, they can only grit their teeth, trying their best to suppress their fury. Urapus nodded. Not bad for a bunch of heirs.

"For the next week. Those with inadequate realm must reach the realm of the Second Lieutenant! Those with inadequate posture must fix their posture! And those with inadequate combat training, I'll test that now!"

The sergeant did not waste much time. He pointed to a confident boy and declared, "You! Name and realm."

"Yes, Sir! My name is Lucas Herlyn, and I'm a First Lieutenant expert!"

"Barely adequate. Come forth!"

As soon as the boy stepped up, Garrot William delivered a hefty jab towards his chest. Although Lucas was capable of blocking it, his defense was too weak. With just a jab, he crashed against the grassy ground with a groan.

The boy didn't even have the chance to use his talent.

"C. Next!"

For the next hour, Urapus witnessed a massacre. The sergeant was ruthless, hitting these kids as if they were his punching bags.

After a while, it was Tyr's turn.

He was quite resilient, capable of blocking a few moves, and even launched a few counterattacks. Unfortunately, the sergeant resorts to using an ability, resulting in instantaneous defeat.

"Not bad. You got an A-!"

Considering that the best grade before was a B-, it was quite impressive. Tyr drew the boys' ire and the girls' admiration. The cruel sergeant also showed a slight nod.

The boy looked at Urapus and Roxanna provocatively, yet the couple only glanced at him before focusing on each other.

Just as it was about to get dull, the sergeant turned serious as he pointed at Roxanna. He does it while glancing at the kids around.

"Let me show you what a real battle is. Roxanna Harden, would you please step up?"

The difference in treatment was evident. But the heirs treat it as if it was something normal. Roxanna Harden is not someone of their caliber. She's just too monstrous to be a comparison

Roxanna quickly goes to the opposite of the sergeant. She will do it quickly. Spending time with Urapus is getting difficult now, with the separation of the dorms between them.

Wordlessly, Roxanna's features sharpened as she rushed to the sergeant. Her movements are smooth, not showing that of an amateurish fighter at all.

Along with her Demon Physique, each clash of fists with the sergeant produced a bellowing boom, leaving the students in awe and amazement.

The heirs from the major families turned serious. They thought the camp would be a breeze, but with the existence of Roxanna Harden...

They clenched their fists. What an insurmountable wall! Even Rosheld Rostch gritted his teeth. What representative? All but talk and meaningless title!

Only the inheritor of the Angel's lineage remained undisturbed. Her gloomy eyes observed the surroundings, occasionally glancing at Urapus from time to time.

The sergeant stumbled. Inwardly, he was stunned. What a vicious little girl! She attacked every blind point he left out, leaving him no way to defend. His veteran eyes narrowed. It seems like he has to take this seriously.

The spar was going well when Roxanna created a distance between them, her eyes narrowed at the sudden movement of the sergeant. So, he wanted to use his abilities.

Noticing the lack of refutation from Roxanna, the sergeant's inner energy explodes, creating a ring made out of metal out of his pocket.

Along with his explosive movement, the merciless sergeant throws the metal ring as he steps up on the ground, boosting him for an advantageous moment.

The momentum was by his side. Yet, when the metal ring collides, he furrowed his eyebrows.

Roxanna was using it as a stepping stone, and she used the force to send herself back and create yet another distance.

"Sir, don't you think it's enough?"

Suddenly, Tyr intervened. The sergeant paused for a moment, wondering what's the issue. The white-haired boy pointed out Roxanna's sole, revealing her bloody foot previously used to resist the metal ring.

At the side, Urapus raised an eyebrow. What sort of scheme is this kid brewing again?

The crowd gasped. The atmosphere became crowded. Everyone wanted to take a look at her wound. As for Roxanna, she looked at Tyr coldly before bowing to the sergeant.

"Thank you for the guidance, Sir!"

The sergeant felt awkward. He actually used an ability against a first-year cadet and did not manage to bring her down.

"Ehem, you did very well, Roxanna Harden. Worthy of being hailed as the leader of our generation. You get an S grade. Everyone, give her an applause!"

As the kids applauded, Roxanna swiftly returned to Urapus's side and showed a pair of glistening eyes, with a hint of tears in them.

"Urapus... I'm bleeding."

The former Hero twitched. With your physique, that small wound would probably heal up in just an hour.

But the girl looked very pitiful. Even the crowd around them was convinced of her heartfelt tears, looking at him with hate. He's afraid that if he remained ignorant, he would be hated by the entire field...

Urapus was speechless.

Where did she learn to act coy like this?

In the end, he removed her military boots and socks, revealing her 'bloody' sole.

"Urapus, maybe if you give it a small kiss, it will magically heal." The fact that she said it with a flat tone was infuriating.

Urapus inwardly snorted. Yeah, right.

"I'll patch it up temporarily." Decisively, Urapus used his left sock to cover her wound. Thankfully, he did not wear them when he worked out. It would be awkward if he patched it up with a used sock, although his physique lacked impurity.

After a moment, the rest of the class was called up. As expected, Rosheld Rostch performed spectacularly. Albeit not at the level of Roxanna, he managed to get an A.

He expertly used his talent, creating several advantageous elements to turn the environment in his favor. The talent to manipulate energy was evident. Even without abilities, he could create anything as he pleased.

Unfortunately, just a monstrous jab from the sergeant was enough to waste all of his effort.

"Good job."

The sergeant ignored the disappointed look on Rosheld's face. He sighed to himself. You already surpassed most second-years, yet you dared to show me a look of disappointment?

However, the sergeant understands. Having someone like Roxanna Harden in your generation is frankly despairing.

Afterward, the sergeant looked up from his note. There are 2 cadets left. He looked at the silent little girl at the corner and an Ashford boy who was currently busy with the wounded Roxanna.

"Hmmm... Velarin Glorias, step forward!"

The amused Urapus froze. The little girl also paused, looking at his reaction with a mischievous smile.

So it's truly you...

"Wait what?"

Velarin? That villainous woman? Urapus was stunned as Velarin, the gloomy girl, stepped up to the sergeant and bowed in respect.

"Yes, Sir!"

Amid his headache, a prompt cheerfully appears, showing the energetic avatar of the world.

[A new quest yet again~! Hero, isn't this exciting?!]

I'm not even done reorganizing my matters, yet another excruciating headache is coming.

As the chibi avatar danced around, Urapus knitted his eyebrows.

[Quest: Velarin Glorias.]

[By divine intervention, she reincarnated into the future as the inheritor of Angel's lineage, with a blessing capable of elevating her existence by gathering a mysterious currency.]

[To ensure the safety of the world, please watch over her should she turn evil.]

[Objective: Guide, or erase Velarin Glorias.]

[Requirement: Velarin Glorias reaches [???] Realm Stage 12, or erase Velarin Glorias.]

[Reward: 100,000,000 HP, 50% of what Velarin received from her blessing (First requirement), 100,000,000 HP, Velarin's resentment, ??? resentment (Second requirement), Unknown Gift (Both requirement).]

Urapus grimaced. So even the woman he used to envy was reincarnated.

Just what the hell is going on?

"Can you at least tell me why so many people were either transmigrated or regressed? Because frankly speaking, it caused me to feel daily, extraordinary headache."

The chibi gray-haired girl looked sheepish.

[It's the work of fate!]

"Quit your bullshit—!"

[Besides, more quests mean more rewards! And more rewards mean Hero become more powerful!]

He can't refute her. Still, it's fine if he was dealing with normal powerhouses. No matter how scheming, sly and shameless they are, they're still in the scope of his understanding.

But why does it have to be a troublesome woman like her? She was a vilainess, and now, she's also a reincarnator!

"Wait, it said that I would receive Velarin's resentment if I manage to do the second requirement. Does that mean...?"

The avatar did not answer him. Urapus hesitates to believe it, but he has no choice.

"So even if I somehow manage to erase her, she would still exist..."

What a load of bullshit.
