Who are you, human?

Another two hours later

"Yang Yang, how far do you think this land is from the human land?" Yi Hua asks, sitting down on the ground as she leans against a tree, "I have no idea, Hua." Yang Yang responds, sitting before her with his head and looking around to spot any danger with full alertness.

Yi Hua heaves out a sigh, "I am scared." She mutters, Lu Yang Yang turns to face and hangs his head low, "I am sorry." He mumbles, guiltily.

Yi Hua smiles and scratches his head softly with her index finger, "It's okay. I brought this upon myself." Yi Hua says, biting her lower lip, she looks up and tears swell up in her eyes.

"See, the sun is setting down." Yi Hua mutters, chuckling while the tears roll down from the corner of her eyes, she sniffs, shaking her head while Lu Yang Yang climbs up her legs and settles himself in her lap.

"Should we find a safe place before the dark?" Lu Yang Yang suggests, Yi Hua sniffs and looks at him, "Hmm. But can we find one?" Yi Hua replies, hugging him.

"Let's search for one. If not we need to get up the trees, better not stay on land where beasts roam." Lu Yang Yang says, licking Yi Hua's cheeks along with her tears and comforting her, Yi Hua smiles and says, "I never climbed a tree before. I am not sure if I can climb up one."

Lu Yang Yang narrows his eyes and heaves out a sigh, "Then, all we can do is remain still and make sure no one gets to know our presence." Lu Yang Yang says, getting off of her lap and standing on his four legs.

"Can we?" Yi Hua asks, rolling her eyes in disbelief. "No." Lu Yang Yang mutters, meowling as he walks ahead, Yi Hua stands up and follows after him.

"Yang Yang?" Yi Hua calls out for him.

"Hmm." Lu Yang Yang hmms, turning around and facing her as he halts on his step.

"Can you still get out of that body?" Yi Hua asks, squatting down and pushing the branches as she makes her way ahead, "Um, I need to use lots of energy for that so I prefer not to. Why?" Lu Yang Yang replies back, catching up with her.

"Maybe, you can come out and get into any dead beast so you can be my guard all the way out of the forest." Yi Hua suggests, Lu Yang Yang gasps, giving her a weird look, "Uh, are you sure about that?" Lu Yang Yang asks, weirdly.

"Umm, why not? With you around instead of being in a harmless cat's body, why not be in something useful?" Yi Hua shrugs off while Lu Yang Yang heaves out a sigh, totally in disbelief at the way her mind thinks, the crazy ideas from her crazy mind.

"I would need much more energy to channel the large body, you know. And coming out of this body would consume half of the energy." Lu Yang Yang says, shaking his head, and displaying his disapproval.

Yi Hua laughs out loud, awkwardly. She shuts her mouth, pressing her lips in a thin line, she gasps as another idea surge inside her mind, she smirks and looks at a frowning Lu Yang Yang, "What now?" He asks, uninterested.

"Just, I thought, if you can fly and see how far we are, you know." Yi Hua speaks, scratching her temple and seeming hesitant but Lu Yang Yang stays silent, "I know, it's a bad idea." Yi Hua mutters, taking in a deep breath.

"It's not that bad but I am reluctant to leave you alone." Lu Yang Yang says, hanging his head low and avoiding looking into Yi Hua's persuading eyes, "Why? Because I will be left alone?" Yi Hua asks, Lu Yang Yang nods his head in response.

"It will be fine as long as it's not that dark, if you fly over and look through the place who knows maybe you can find a safe place." Yi Hua says, explaining to him her thoughts, Lu Yang Yang halts on his step.

"That can do but I am worried-"

"I will be fine, we are all alone till now. What will come just when you will leave?" Yi Hua comments, laughing at him while Lu Yang Yang scoffs, "It's because…um, I am with you."

Yi Hua stops laughing and widens her eyes, "What? How? Then won't you be able to scare them away later?" Yi Hua asks, with her hopeful eyes twinkling at Lu Yang Yang, "I mean if no one dared to show up in your presence then it's no biggie." Yi Hua adds, shrugging off confidently.

"That's because demons and beasts are powerful at night, in the darkness. And I am not that strong as of now so I can't guarantee you." Lu Yang Yang says, licking his fur and walking ahead.

"Don't scare me!" Yi Hua whines.

"I am just making you aware." Lu Yang Yang says, Yi Hua pouts, "Then, go fly and scan the forest. I will stay by that big tree. I will not go anywhere." Yi Hua says, walking towards the big tree.

Lu Yang Yang hesitates but her idea was not something he could ignore when it might be their hope, "But, Hua…if you sense something weird then don't stay hidden but run." Lu Yang Yang says, licking Yi Hua's leg.

"Why run? They can see me." Yi Hua retorts back, baffled by his request.

"Because they would know where you are hiding, at least if you run you might escape as it is still not dark." Lu Yang Yang says, Yi Hua squats down and pouts, bopping Lu Yang Yang's cat snout, "If only we could disappear from here and go back to human land."

"I am sorry, I can't do that." Lu Yang Yang apologizes and Yi Hua shakes her head no, dismissing his apology with a smile.

"Just go before it gets darker. I will wait for you." Yi Hua says, sitting down on the ground, she leaned against the large root that hand emerged from the soil and back into the soil only after a few parts were exposed, this tree was quite big enough to hide.

"Okay." Lu Yang Yang says, soon he escapes out of the cat's body, he smiles floating closer to Yi Hua, and caresses her cheeks, "Take the body with you so that I can return back in." Lu Yang Yang says, chuckling.

"Okay." Yi Hua says, clutching the cat's body against her chest.

"Don't make me find a new one." Lu Yang Yang chuckles, squinting his eyes as he mocks Yi Hua, "Sadly, I see no dumpster around." Yi Hua says, rolling her eyes while Lu Yang Yang flies high up in the sky waving his hand before he disappears.

Yi Hua heaves out a sigh, shrinking herself as much as she can to hide. Luo Yan stood high up in the branch of a tree watching her and then at the cat's limp body before eyeing far away towards the direction where Lu Yang Yang flew.

He smirks, surprised by the things he had observed between the human woman and the so-called cat, "Who are you, human?" He asks, sitting down on the same branch as he enjoys watching Yi Hua looking around, skeptically.
