I Transmigrated As Rhaegar Targaryen!

Haaah! So this is how my life ends, huh! What a pathetic and lonely life…. It's good that it ended; I had no one, no friends, no parents, no love, no children. It was a lonely life that I have led, a pathetic life too… I was a NEET, never caring about the outside world, only working hard to make ends meet and buy some porn. I wish I had a family, though, a loving mother and a beloved wife with cute children; it would be nice. I wish I had a second chance…. “Mortal, do you wish to live again?” ….Wow!!

Haaah! So this is how my life ends, huh!

What a pathetic and lonely life….

It's good that it ended; I had no one, no friends, no parents, no love, no children.

It was a lonely life that I have led, a pathetic life too…

I was a NEET, never caring about the outside world, only working hard to make ends meet and buy some porn.

I wish I had a family, though, a loving mother and a beloved wife with cute children; it would be nice.

I wish I had a second chance….

"Mortal, do you wish to live again?"

….Wow!!

...

A man was floating in the pitch blackness of the endless void.

He opened his eyes and looked around in confusion, "Hello, anyone there!?" He called out.

Fear took root as no matter how much time had passed, the man was just drifting, with no aim or goal, 'Just like the life I have led.'

After an unknown amount of time, the fear had begun to fade away, and the man stayed limp, closing his eyes.

'So my life ends like this, huh, drifting in the endless void for eternity…' the man muttered to himself, 'would have been nice if I had a second chance though….' He thought to himself, not knowing that a being was watching the man.

The being took a moment before it materialised in front of the man.

'Ahhh! Too bright! Too bright, damn it!' the man screamed inwardly as he shut his eyes. For him, who was used to the pitch darkness, the sudden light felt terrifying.

"Fear me not, Mortal. For I have come to give you life." That being said, its voice was a mix of many, as if a thousand people were speaking at once.

The man slowly opened his eyes, his eyes adjusting to the brightness. But his eyes widened when he saw a colossal dragon.

'So big!' the man muttered inwardly as he stretched his neck.

The dragon was big, perhaps bigger than the entire Earth. It was black, blacker than the void surrounding it. It had bright blood-red stripes running through its body and its golden eyes shone fiercely as it stared at the man.

"W-Who are you!?" the man asked, his voice stammering while his legs trembled in fear.

"I am many things, mortal. And my name is irrelevant, for it changes with the echoes of time." The dragon answered; it lowered its massive head, getting closer to the man.

"I have a mission for you, mortal." The dragon said.

"W-What is it!?" the man asked; he knew rejecting the mighty dragon might offend it and asked what it was.

The dragon raised its head, its eyes shifting their focus, gazing into the endless horizon, "My descendants are dying… I have tried to protect them, but their own foolishness is causing them to perish."

The man listened intently. "Who are your descendants?" the man asked, curious.

The dragon looked down at the man in silence for a moment before it answered, "The Targaryens."

The man's eyes widened in surprise while his heartbeat quickened. "Y-You mean from the books and the TV show!? The Targaryens!? They are real!?"

The dragon nodded its massive head as it answered, "Yes, the tales you have heard are true; the Targaryens do exist; they are my children."

The man gawked at the dragon as if it's unbelievable. It took him a few moments to get back to his bearings, 'I mean I am talking to a damn planet-sized dragon!'

"So… Will I be born during the Dance!?" the man asked, as he had read the books and watched the series. 'I mean, that is the time when the Targaryens were at their peak of strength and stupidity.'

But the dragon shook its head and replied, "I agree with you that my children were stupid during that period, mortal. But you will not be sent there."

The frowned when he heard the dragon, 'Then when ... .wait!' The man turned to the dragon who nodded its head at him and said, "It is as you think, mortal. You will be sent during the rebellion. The Night King is more powerful than shown in the Tales and the Targaryens and the dragons were the only way the realm of men can defeat him."

"But won't Daenerys hatch dragons, three in fact?" the man asked in confusion.

"That child is special, but she and her three dragons wouldn't be enough to defeat him. It is why, mortal. I wish to send you there on my behalf. You will become Rhaegar Targaryen, the crown prince of the Seven Kingdoms. Are you willing?"

The man closed his eyes at the dragon's words; his mind raced as he thought about the effects of his decision.

A few moments later, he opened his eyes and asked, "Sure, but can I have a gift or something?"

The dragon tilted its head while staring at the man and asked, "What is in your mind, mortal?"

"I want something unique to me, something that will help me in my battles…" the man replied.

The dragon thought about the man's request for a while before it said, "Very well, I cannot grant you immense powers, but I can grant you strength and resilience, the same as the one you call Captain America."

The man's eyes widened at the dragon's words; he immediately bowed to the dragon and, with a voice brimming with excitement, said, "Thank you very much!"

The dragon nodded its head, acknowledging his thanks and said, "I will send you now, mortal. I hope that you can win the battles and save my children from extinction."

The man stared at the dragon and curtly nodded his head while his body slowly began to fade away into the void.

...

Tower of Joy, the red mountains of Dorne.

Rhaegar was lying peacefully in his bed; his shoulder-length silver hair was tied into a ponytail while his pale skin was covered only by the sheets.

Beside him was a woman with long brown hair and a slim body that was naked for the man beside her to see.

Lyanna's eyes fluttered open, revealing her grey eyes. She took a moment to adjust before she gazed at the man who took her maidenhood, the man she loved.

A small smile bloomed on her face as she leaned forward, kissing the man on his cheeks, "Wake up, Rhaegar." She said, lovingly.

She rested her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat while waiting for her beloved to wake up.

Rhaegar, feeling a weight on his chest, slowly opened his eyes, only to see a stunning beauty looking back at him. "Good morning, my prince." She said with a smile.

But Rhaegar's eyes widened in shock. His heartbeat quickened while he stared at the woman, "Shit!!"
