Chapter 74: Binding Ritual

"Chairman, please make sure that the President will still let me graduate without attending class and give me a valid license. Even though I refuse to his demands."

"Don't worry, he will make sure that it will happen because if not, the probability of you entering class instead of doing jobs from other nations will increase. Something that he couldn't afford to happen. I will still remind him though, just leave him to me."

"Thank you Chairman. I'll conclude our meeting for tonight. Bye bye."

I exited the Chairmans office and return to my office. When I opened it, I was shock to see Clark inside still working on his computer.

He look at me and wave his hand.

"Why are you still here? Isn't your shift ended at 5 p.m?" I ask as I proceed to my workplace.

"The Chairman requested both Charlie and I to watch over the night if dungeon gate opens while you guys are not available."

Oh, he really is someone that follows order. Maybe he is still looking at the Chairman as his former Lieutenant.

"You did a good job at keeping an eye at things while we are away. Actually, we are worried that the fight will last at least an entire day but as you can see, we finish it earlier than expected."

I look over to the newly arrive documents in my table and scan them.

"I've heard that you enslave the Lich and revive the people. Everyone is talking about you in the internet."

"Yeah, I was actually force to enslave the Lich because it refuse my orders to return the body of the decease. Also, I only manage to revive the people who died in Marinduque because the Lich has been keeping their souls in a powerful magic item that he plans to use to self destruct along with us. We are just lucky that we somehow manage to retrieve their souls."

"The Lich seems to be a nasty opponent."

"It really is. By the way I have work for you tomorrow."

I then explained to him everything about my plans and give orders to him.

"I understand, it's really impossible for you to handle everything alone even with me around. It's much better if someone could stand in for you while you are being deployed. I'll take care of everything that you ask me tomorrow."

"Thank you. You can now return, I'm here already, I'll take care of the dungeons if something unexpected happened. I'll consider the 3hours that you remained here as over time and will pay you accordingly."

"Overtime pay? Are you sure that it's fine? I don't mind staying here all night though."

"Nahh don't worry about it. There is only 1 second batch dungeon and it's not that strong. We are just afraid that every dungeon gate will open at the same time today that's all. Don't worry about it that much, I'll call you when I will need your help."

"Ok if you insist. I'll return home now boss. Please call me immediately when something happened." He said as he stood up.

I just nodded at him ignoring the fact that he called me boss which is something that I like.

He exited the office along with his things and return home.

I also stood up in my Chair preparing to depart when suddenly I received a telepathic message from the Lich.

'Master, these people here wants to know when you will prepare the cages for the awakened that commits crime.'

He said in a somewhat plain tone. I also fined it amusing to be called master.

He is being interrogated right now but considering how he is asking me for something like this. The interrogation probably ended already.

'Can you do it?' I ask.

I actually can do it in my free time right now but if possible I want to know if the Lich is capable of doing it.

'I am not master but I can craft a magic item in a form of handcuff that will suck mana to anyone who wears it and convert it into mana stone. It is very effective in humanoid creatures and could deal with anyone who is S- rank and below.'

Without mana, an awakened person will not be able to use their skills. Putting them in ordinary cells with magic handcuffs is probably doable.

'Its hard to order everyone in the smithing department to create and produce magic handcuffs since in 3 days, their department will be privatize by me. Until them, I should avoid doing something unnecessary that will make the higher ups pull out their decision. How about this, tell them about what you can do and negotiate with them about the price of each magic handcuff that you create. Don't teach them how to create it either and maintain its secrecy.'

'I will be doing it Master?' He clarify.

'You are a slave so of course. Do that job on my behalf. I am very busy right now and has no time to deal with it.'

'Where should I create it? Do I have my work shop?'

Hmm... That's true, he needs a workshop here.

'I'll give you one tomorrow, also make these people provide you with raw materials that you needed. The price that you propose should be approved by the Chairman, I don't want it to be so expensive since this association doesn't have much funds rightnow. And also, I don't want it to be cheap that they will buy it to us for a cheap price and resell it to others at high price. Just use your skull to think of a better price that is not too expensive yet not too cheap at the same time.'

'Yes Master'

The telepathy net has been cut off and I weave my mana and teleported at David's room.

I saw his mother beside him in the bed along with Elly. They are watching over David.

"Jesus Christ, don't just teleport here without a notice." Mrs. Soreso said as she hold her heart.

"You also shock me Archie please stop doing it out of nowhere." Elly added.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't expecting you to be here at this time. I just want to check on David's condition. Also the Chairman wants me to visit him from time to time."

I take a closer look at the sleeping David. He is very handsome, sleeping or not which is very unfair.

"Oh thanks about it. But what happened to my brother? I didn't fully understand it, it was said that it was a side effect of your magic or something. Did you attack him and the other S-rank hunters while in Marinduque? I am really confuse since that doesn't seems to be the case, I even saw brother putting his arm on your shoulders in a footage while you are in Marinduque." Elly asks.

My relationship to David is really slowly being recognize by anyone. This stupid David didn't even hold himself back even in public. And this stupid me is the worst since I didn't mind what he's doing to me and I just enjoy those moments without caring to anyone who saw us.

"I use a spell on them that will break the limits of their powers temporary. It has a side effects of sleeping for 3 days. Aside from that, it has no other side effects." I explained.

"Oh, so he will wake up in 3 days? Are you sure that nothing will happened to him aside from sleeping?" Mrs.Soreso asks.

I nodded at her and look at his son again.

"Yes, I'm sure that nothing will happened to him. He just need to take a rest just like the others. By the way is Clark here? Can you please bring him here Elly?"

"Why?"

"I will perform a binding ritual to David and his magic items. I'll include Clark and his item as well."

"Is it fine to do magic at David while he's like this?" Mrs. Soreso worriedly ask.

"I am not performing magic to the two Mrs. Soreso, I'll perform the magic to the magic items. I will control it so that it will only function when David and Clark are using it. What I needed for the two are only their presence that's all." I explained.

"I see, Elly bring Clark here." Mrs. Soreso ask Elly and the other immediately walk away to call his brother.

While Elly is busy doing her thing. I pull out Davids magic items as well as Clark.

I then perform the binding to David while he is sleeping. I didn't bind it to them before because everything happened so fast that I almost forgot about it. I just remember the necessity of binding the items to them after I give Mr.Soreso the Legendary Grade Sword Gram to be auction.

The Binding didn't last long and it finish immediately after few minutes only.

Suddenly the door burst open, revealing Clark and his sister.

"Come here, I'll bind your items to you. As per the deal that I made with your father, starting today, only you can use your magic items. Don't worry about them, they are not damage in anyway after being used by Makoy since his fighting techniques is all about avoiding attacks."

Clark look at me with irritation.

"Make it fast, I still have to talk to my brothers secretary and coordinate with her." He said with a tone.

It seems like he is being put in charge at his brothers guild until his brother recover. I actually find it as the best course of action since Clark is the only one that is suitable for handling Davids guild while he's not around.

I won't be needing him in my department for the time being anyway and tomorrow, someone will interview people to work at our department so basically he is not needed at the moment. If possible it's better if he works as David's vice guild leader than works as an agent. He is a strong Awakened after all and it would be a waste of man power to have him around when the Association already has me and Clark in it.

The Chairman is probably testing him if he is compatible in working at guild or not.

Clark received a mouthful from his mother after talking to me with attitude but I intervened and just perform the ritual to Clark that didn't even take 5 minutes to finish.
