Chapter 63 - I love you!

Rahua's POV

Damion called for help immediately, asked the maids to clean up everything and to change the dirtied bucket.

The maids were very fast at accomplishing their tasks in matter of seconds.

"I am sorry, I think I got nervous all of the sudden. " I was not expecting such love declaration out of the blue. I mean what about his fiancé, what about everything. I mean, me a Princess or a Queen, that's.... I never even considered such thing.

I look at Damion his eyes had dark circles, "Have you been sleeping alright, " I shouldn't be so informal right? " Your Highness?"

I could see Damion, expression going from gentle to a frown.

"Please stop! I am still the same Damion, the one, you would make fun."

I could feel the gaze from my parents judging me. I didn't know at the time.

"I am still the same Damion," he continued " that you would threaten to hit" Please stop Damion!! You are digging my grave here. Before I knew I was covering his mouth with my hand.

"I get it." I whisper.

"Than please, don't be informal with me. I am still the same as before. " He says under my hand.

I slowly removed my hand from Damion's mouth, feeling a mix of embarrassment and confusion. I didn't know what to make of his words or the situation in front of me, for all effects he is still the Prince of Arrentela.

"I... I'm sorry," I stammered, my cheeks flushing. "I didn't mean to offend you, Damion." I swollow dry "It's just... everything is so overwhelming right now." I took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing heart.

Damion's expression softened, and he reached out to gently hold my hand. "I understand, Rahua. This is a lot to take in, for both of us. But I want you to know that I'm here for you, no matter what, that I love you. " I did hear it correctly, I was not dreaming he was looking at me.

I looked towards my family, who stood quietly observing us. They seemed unsure of how to address the situation as well. But for me right now, it meant, they were hearing the same as me.

"Your Highness," my father spoke up, breaking the silence. "We appreciate your feelings for Rahua, but we must consider the implications of her social status. It wouldn't be fair to her or to you to pursue a relationship without addressing these matters."

Damion nodded, his grip on my hand tightening slightly. "I understand, sir. I will do everything in my power to protect and support Rahua. If there are any obstacles that we need to overcome, I am willing to face them."

My mother stepped forward, her voice filled with concern. "Your Highness, we don't doubt your sincerity, but we must also think of the consequences for Rahua. A relationship between the two of you could be met with opposition and difficulties."

Damion's gaze met mine, his eyes filled with determination. "I know it won't be easy, but Rahua is worth it. I love her, and I want to fight for our happiness. With your permission, I would like to court her properly and show her how much she means to me."

My parents exchanged a glance, silently communicating their thoughts. After a few moments, my father nodded. "If Rahua agrees to this, and if you both are willing to face the challenges ahead, then we will support your relationship."

I looked from my parents to Damion, their words sinking in. It was all so overwhelming and unexpected.

Taking a deep breath, I turned to Damion and smile. "I... I would like that, Damion. But I thought you were engaged."

Family jaw dropped. My father pulled me back close to him.

Damion's expression change from happy to surprised. " I am not engaged nor was I ever engaged. Me and the Princess from Mirantella had mutual agreed that we didn't want the union."

Father released me together with a relief sight.

Damion's face lit up with a smile, relief and happiness evident in his eyes. He pulled me into a tight embrace, and for a moment, it was as if noone could come between us. In that embrace, I was finally happy.

There's a knock on the door. Damion's turns his head, I look up at him while his arms still wrapped around me.

"Yes!" He says annoyed.

"Your Highness, is time for healing Miss Rahua.

"I see..." He says looking at me, still not letting go. " Yes come in."

The door open, and my heart skips a beat when I see Mr. Cirius enter the room.

My instinct was to step before Damion to protect him.

"He is accomplice with Lord Duke Vital, run Damion, they plan to kill you." I grab the first thing that I reach and it was the plate. My family were ready to fight and protect Damion, the Prince.

Mr. Cirius had his hand in the air, and Damion was holding me back from behind.

"It's okay, Rahua. Cirius was on spying on Vital for me. " I put the plate down. And everyone of my family relaxed. I look around even Zack and Zoe were ready with mean faces. I wanted to laugh how cute they looked.

"Yes Miss Rahua, I was. I am sorry if I scared you at the time. But I must say, the plate would do me no damage, no offense to the family Stronghold, none of you is strong enough to fight me. " He says almost laughing at us.

"Miss Rahua I have been checking on you the last 3 days, because you had fever I was healing your body, but you still need to eat. " Mr. Cirius explained to me that I developed an infection, and he had to help my body fight it. I was unconscious for 3 days during that time Damion was next to me refusing to leave my side, in case I woke up.

I looked at Mr. Cirius, my feelings of fear and suspicion slowly receding as his words sank in. "Thank you for looking after me, Mr. Cirius," I said, "I had no idea I was so ill."

He nodded, his expression turning serious. "It was a serious infection, but you're on the path to recovery now. You'll need to take it easy for a while and ensure you get proper rest and nourishment." Damion was nodding. "You too your Highness, you have to rest and eat properly."

"Indeed, your Highness " the butler who was standing outside of the open door walked in. "Your coronation is soon to be, you need to be strong to show everyone that their new future king, is someone they have to look up to. "
