chapter 58 A Dream

He opened his eyes again, did he take a short nap, without realizing it? It felt like he was floating on a cloud.

But he wasn't on his lounging chair in the backyard, he was leaning on a wooden chair, the roof seemed to be stony.

Zhang Jian soon looked around and found out that he was near the entrance of the cave where Lin Xi lived in.

But Lin Xi was nowhere to be seen, " Miss Lin Xi?", he called out but nobody answered.

He approached the inner section of the cave, where her chambers were.

And as he turned the corner leaning to where she slept, he bumped into Lin Xi quite hard, as he was walking pretty fast.

Lin Xi screamed as she lost her balance and was about fall, but Zhang Jian's strong hands held her wais effortlessly and yanked her back to a standing position, but as always Zhang Jian always underestimated his strength, so Lin Xi ended up crashing to his chest.

Lin Xi lifted up her head to look him in the eyes, her fox eyes starring into his clear pupils, they held a fire that she has never seen before. Zhang Jian was lost in Lin Xi's stare.

His hand was still groping her curved waist, and her hands were still in his chest, soon his eyes shifted to her plump lips as his hold on her tightened, his head slowly bent downwards, and he connected his lips with hers.

Zhang Jian hasn't felt a woman's touch in a long while, and the kiss he shared with Lin Xi, sparked emotions and urges that have been dormant for a while.

As the kiss deepened, Lin Xi wrapped her arms around his neck, savoring the moment, Zhang Jian felt like his needs couldn't be restrained, so he picked her up and headed to the bedroom to satisfy the burning fire that he felt melting his insides.

Zhang Jian jolted awake, as if he had a nightmare, and looked around him, he was still in his chair.

Wang Yan, was still plowing the field, and judging by her progress, he hadn't been asleep for so long.

Zhang Jian's cheeks were red from embarrassment, were his feelings dormant for that long?

He wasn't a pervert, and never really thought about such stuff, so why dream about it this time, was it because he was thinking about Lin Xi before he went to bed?

Zhang Jian believed that the mind was very complex and that he wouldn't able to figure out the reason even if he thought about it for the whole afternoon.

It was time for dinner, so he didn't think about it much and decided to leave that weird dream in the back of his head as he went to prepare dinner.

But that wasn't the case for Lin Xi, how could she put such an important event in the back of her head?

Apparently, it wasn't just a dream, like what Zhang Jian thought.

Just as about she was laying down for a nap, a wave of dizziness hit her out of the blue, and she lost consciousness, but when she woke up the atmosphere was hazy and filled with a certain aura that she was familiar with, it was heavy but she couldn't quite her hand on it.

As she was heading out to investigate, she bumped into Zhang Jian, who had an alluring mood, that she had never noticed before.

He effortlessly lured her into bed and bonded their souls together.

Lin Xi was so angry at how easily swayed she was under the charm of Zhang Jian and lamented on her low resistance that she could have put up a fight.

Although, she wanted to seduce him with her attractive figure, when it came to the real stuff she wasn't ready at all.

No matter how cunning she was, when it came to these matters, she was as innocent as Wang Yan.

Lin Xi, was really ashamed of herself, she shouldn't have allowed him to do as he pleased, and that made her even angrier and frustrated.

While, Lin Xi fighting anger and frustration, Ge Kai, had almost perfected his scheme of obtaining the purple sapphires sheltered under Zhang Jian.

Sitting on a desk in his tent, a subordinate was attending to him as he wrote instructions on parchment of paper.

At that time Owl arrived to give his midday report but was surprised that the super busy master was actually waiting for him.

So without waiting for instructions, Owl nervously reported " There have been no suspicious movements, my Lord"

Ge Kai nodded, " No need for that now, I have a mission for you, so focus on it and go back to the old one as soon as you're finished"

"As you wish Master"

Ge Kai tossed some empty papers on a vacant desk nearby and ordered " You have been watching Zhang Jian and his entourage for the longest, so I'm sure you have their faces imprinted in your memory, I want you to draw them here on these papers, then go back to your primary mission"

Owl nodded his head and soon got to work, luckily his penmanship was well-practiced and he didn't struggle drawing faces from his memory as they were as clear as pictures behind his eyes, since he did nothing else but look at them the whole day.

This world didn't have any advanced technology, not even electricity so let alone a printer, all they could do is have someone draw the faces well from memory then go to the local paper or book shops to have laborers draw more copies.

After Owl finished drawing the pics and assigning each name to the correct picture, he bowed his head towards Ge Kai and rushed off to get his meal before continuing the monitoring.

Ge Kai picked up the drawings and nodded in satisfaction, he then sat down back and continued adding pricing details to the pictures.

They were all bounties for Zhang Jian and his subordinates.

He knew that Zhang Jian's strength wasn't even measured accurately since no one dared go against him, so he put a fat charming price over his head hoping that the numerous attacks on him will eventually expose his weakness.

So Ge Kai planned to sit back and watch as Zhang Jian and the ones with him, got continuously attacked, as he observed from a distance waiting for the perfect moment to strike, as soon as Zhang Jian slipped to show a flaw he would take advantage to beat Lin Xi and unseal the greatest power in all realms.

When he finished up the details of the bounties, he gave them to the subordinate by his side, " Run to the nearest book store and have them print hundreds of copies for me, when you're done with them, make sure that everyone in both realms knows where to find the targets"

" Yes, my Lord" the subordinate bowed his head and went to carry on his task.

As soon as Ge Kai, was alone he closed the tent's door, and through a dimensional crack, he slipped to the twilight zone.

He soon appeared near a foggy lake.

Ge Kai put his hood on, and walked to a bench nearby, he sat down and closed his eyes patiently.

After a few breaths of time, the figure of a burly man appeared and headed towards Ge Kai, his face shrouded in darkness, not a single feature on his face could be recognized.

Ge Kai stood up, and greeted the man respectfully " Hello, distinguished immortal".

The immortal nodded his head in acknowledgment and sat down, gesturing to Ge Kai to do the same, so they can discuss the matters they met for.

Having finished their exchange, the two got up, but instead of going their separate way, Ge Kai made a dimensional crack and brought the immortal along with him to the immortal realm.

The twilight zone was full of dangers, it was only inhabited by the strong, and the weak would perish shortly after arriving.

Nothing was safe, not even conversations, the walls had ears, the ground had ears, and even the trees had ears.

Soon after the two left, a beautiful woman, wearing black elegant robes emerged from behind the tree and starred at the spot where the two had disappeared.

The equinox flower nestled in her hair swayed with the light breeze, as the woman's eyes seemed to concentrate, while she tried to digest the information she had just heard.

Pondering for a long time, the mysterious woman in black was still silent and just to wait and see how things will turn out in the future.
