I Have A Roommate?

My roommate almost never stayed in our room. In a week, the times she slept here are around two to three nights only. However, I never felt lonely. Boarders in other rooms chat with me in the dining area. And I'm busy with schoolwork and activities that I barely realized the passage of time. One day, I realized something. The room I'm staying in only has one bed. Where did I get a roommate again?

Extra 05 The Seven Sins of the Abyss

(Author's Note: This is a work of fiction. Any myths regarding demons and other species in this chapter are based on the author's quick research and imagination. Please do not use for reference purposes.)

Tania, youngest of the seven children of the Abyssal Monarch Raja and her wife Mirabelle Acosta, glanced disdainfully at the reports brought back by her subordinates. Those birdbrains are waging war again in some mid-level realms. It seems like their ego boosted after winning over the privately owned realm of her elder sister Haniel.

Tsk. Didn't they know that her elder sister Haniel is just too lazy to even snatch that realm back? Lousy winged idiots.

Tania can only maintain her graceful aura as she walked through the hallways of the palace to reach the office of her mom.

Once she reached the giant doors, she knocked respectfully before pushing them to enter. What she saw was the usual sweetness between her parents. She walked in without changing her expression, before putting down the documents into the desk.

Her mother pushed her mom away with a red face, before smiling kindly at her prideful youngest.

"Mom, the idiotic birdbrains are waging war again," Tania nobly reported.

She waited for a reply before her mother answered.

"You want to ask for permission to send your older siblings to steal territory, right?" Raja smiled as she understood the workings of the brain of their youngest.

As young as she is, she is prideful, more prideful than most of their kind. She won't be able to take kindly about angels waging war, especially since the angels managed to snatch the territory of Haniel. She wanted to use her older siblings' hands to get the realm back.

"Which ones do you want to send, dear?" Her mother asked while showing her the profiles of her older siblings, as if helping her choose a gift she wanted to take.

Ever since Mirabelle complained about giving birth to too many children, Tania became their spoiled youngest. The children also knew about their parents' favoritism over their youngest sibling, which is why they silently acquiesced to Tania's demands time and time again. Anyway, she's the youngest. Might as well spoil her. She did not even experience Kristen's initiation, much to the disappointment of the siblings.

"I chose elder sister Kristen and older brothers Lance and Neid. And I need them as soon as possible," Tania arrogantly declared, as if she had every right to do so. It's like choosing the p**emon to send out in battle.

"Sure. Your siblings are always excited to play with our Youngest. They'll be at your office as needed," Raja said as she beckoned for their Youngest to come close. Tania went forward to come close. Raja then leaned forward to kiss Tania's forehead.

"Mom~ I'm already a big girl. I don't need kisses anymore," Tania whined, avoiding Raja's kiss. Mirabelle chuckled as Raja pouted.

"But you'll always be our baby girl, Tania," Mirabelle interrupted as she did not want to coax a pouty Raja. Tania's eyes squinted, as if considering it, before reluctantly leaning to allow Raja's kiss.

This small interlude did not interrupt Tania's thoughts on how to claim their territory back. When she returned to her office, she found the siblings she requested. (Lol, treating them as if they were things.)

"Little Tania~ I've heard that you'll be stealing territory from the hypocrites. This big sister shall bomb their nests to pieces," a girl with dark hair and white highlights holding a staff sat on Tania's desk, making a vein pop in her forehead.

"Get down from my desk this instant!" Tania gracefully commanded as she waved her left hand, sending invisible force towards the girl on the desk. Feeling the force in the air, the girl teleported off the desk and sat on a couch not far away.

"Chill, you're still as overbearing as usual. I like it. You're really perfect for the Sin of Pride," Kristen smiled as she licked her lips with her youngest sister's trashy personality.

"What sins have you been talking about, goody-two-shoes? You've always been strange, always mumbling things that are cryptic. Tsk," a teenage boy with a sword in his waist complained as he crossed his arms. Lance stood by the window of the office, trying to calm himself so he won't smash things. He was born restless in nature, and if he just sat down doing nothing, his temper might flare.

"It was a concept I've learned from a certain world while Mom and Mother were on vacation, brother. They have myths about beings that are similar to our kind that represent evil and cardinal sins. Since it was so applicable, I've decided to adapt it!" Kristen reasoned, as if she won't take no for an answer.

Tania just silently acquiesced to having a title she did not want. Everyone in the family know that Kristen, as the eldest sibling, is the most powerful of them all. Her greed for a lot of things made her much more powerful than an ordinary cub as she hoarded both knowledge and power. And within their species, knowledge and power are the driving forces for authority.

Kristen might be a bit of a pushover for Tania, but she knew that Kristen can overpower her if she chooses to. But since Kristen wants to spoil the youngest in the family, even Haniel who complains a lot about the unfair treatment can only stay silent. After all, she's usually Kristen's target for pranks.

"What about me? Do I also have a title?" A gloomy looking boy mumbled as he stared resentfully at his older sister.

Neid thought of how he's been left out of many things, especially their eldest sister's fun games. He's been seething with envy, watching his siblings play together while he can only sit in a corner to observe, longing to join. Now, their youngest actually invited him to play. He's practically beaming. However, since Kristen is once again playing something that seems to have excluded him, he's now gloomy.

"Little Neid can have the Sin of Envy. It suits you quite a bit~" Kristen teased as she looked at this gloomy little brother of hers.

Actually, one of the reasons why their mother complained about having too many children is the mythology that Kristen showed her. Their mother, Mirabelle, got addicted to the idea that she tried hard to limit the conceived children to seven. Kristen is one of the main reasons why their Mom Raja is feeling aggrieved. After all, mating of demons has a high possibility of conception.

Their Mom had been harboring feelings of resentment towards their beloved eldest and had been doing every kind of possibility to seduce and tempt Mirabelle to bed, just to destroy Kristen's plan of creating this Seven Sins concept for the Abyss. Kristen hopes that their mother can stay firm and true to their goal of making the Seven Sins a force to be reckoned with, in order to fight those winged idiots.

"So, whose territory shall we be snatching back?" Kristen asked, with anticipation of punishing the idiot who let the idiotic birdbrains gain land on the war.

Lance, staying silent by the window, is now sweating bullets for the irresponsible sibling who lost the territory. His biggest best would be Haniel, the third sibling. Next would be Baren, the fifth sibling. And the last would be George, the sixth. After all, their Youngest would never choose the perpetrator who caused defeat amongst their forces to be the vanguard to clash against the winged idiots. He's hoping that Kristen, that goody-two-shoes, can still show mercy to their sibling.

"It was elder sister Haniel's," Tania chose to sell out her lazy elder sister.

In a secluded dark room within the palace, Haniel opened her eyes from her sleep and alertly looked around. She suddenly had this feeling that she has to run away now for her own safety. And that, she did.

Opening various spatial channels, she hopped from dimension to dimension after sending a letter of seclusion to their parents.

As the main perpetrator ran away to hide in a different dimension, the four siblings in Tania's office stared at each other silently. Kristen slowly smiled into a sadistic grin, Neid suddenly had a face full of envy, Lance looked away and whistled to himself, while Tania stood with an indifferent face.

"Ah~ the Sin of Sloth is really suitable for little Haniel. I never judged wrongly~" Kristen dragged her words to show just how satisfied she is with the hierarchy that she created amongst her siblings.

"I also hope that little Baren and little George can fulfill their own roles within the Seven Sins," she added.

"Baren is popular with the everyone and can flirt without being slapped in the face. While George indulge in eating and practically stays in the palace kitchen perpetually. What roles do those two even have?" Neid murmured.

He had always been envious of his little brother Baren's handsome features that allowed him to be favored by most, even those from other species. He inherited the good sides of their parents' faces. Oh, how Neid wanted to own that face. On the other hand, being the sixth sibling, George is spoiled rotten and is allowed to indulge in his eating habits. He's practically the chubbiest among them siblings, but he's still loved by their mother who thought that he's cute.

He, Neid, is the middle child and had no redeeming features. He does not have enough knowledge and power that eldest sister Kristen wields. He cannot fight as brutally as eldest brother Lance. He does not have the out-bursting potential and ability that elder sister Haniel has when she feels danger. He's not as handsome and charismatic as brother Baren. He's not cute and chubby like youngest brother George. And he's not capable and prideful as their youngest Tania. In short, he's nothing special. Sometimes, he even questions his existence as a child of the Abyssal Monarch. Maybe he's adopted.

"They have their own roles to fulfill, as do you," Kristen nonchalantly answered, proving that she heard Neid's query.

"Now, let's start planning our attack!" she then cheerfully unfolded the map of the stolen realm in a snap of a finger.

As his other siblings moved closer to Kristen to listen to her plans, Neid stood in silence, mulling over what Kristen meant. Then, in a short moment, he smiled, but returned to his usual gloomy appearance.

Kristen noticed this, but she just smiled and continued pointing to various locations in the map and explaining several battle scenarios possible. After all, she's the eldest. She's responsible for discipling her younger siblings on behalf of their parents. It is also part of her responsibility to cheer up this gloomy looking demon who had absolutely no confidence in himself.

In fact, Neid is most balanced among them seven. He's not overly powerful or knowledgeable. He's not hot-tempered and rash. He's not lazy and avoids chores. He is quite good-looking yet has a bookish aura. He loves eating healthy food and never overeats like someone. He adores her and looks up to her. And he's also her favorite sibling of all. But she won't tell him this. Why would she even?

Kristen snickered at the thought and used her parallel thinking ability to think of a plan for the battle, think of the reason as to why little Neid is her favorite sibling, and think of how to find and punish little Haniel later.
