CHAPTER 7

"Boss, he failed his mission."

"What?! You can't even do a simple task! Your men don't know how to do their job properly!"

The man shouted to his assistant and then he took another puff of his cigar.

"Boss, the report said that the target woke up already from his coma. He failed while he's trying to stab him when he suddenly woke up and counterattacks him."

"Bullsh*t! You tell me that he just regained consciousness then fight back!?! Who are you trying to fool?!"

"But sir... he really did. He also have an amnesia and now he's missing."

"You should have told me sooner. Then what are you doing now?! Hurry up and go track him down before he is found, then kill him!"

***

Raynier Zheng stopped the cab near the Scenicah Forest of the State. When he reached there, he sensed that the qi was much more denser, so he decided to stay there and cultivate.

It's been 13 hours since he was missing and people are busy looking for him. While he, on the other hand, is busy cultivating and enjoying his peace in the forest. When he absorbed enough qi to breakthrough from level 3 of body tempering, he trained his martial arts while stabilizing his foundation. It may look like he's on vacation, but his schedule is more hectic than any normal person. He repeated the same routine for a week while he kept on moving from his location to another.

A week passed by and inside the Zheng household became more chaotic.

"It's already been a week and you still haven't found my son?!! If you need to ease the whole forest just to find him, then do it!" Mister Zheng said out of frustration because the situation was getting out of control.

"What do you mean by razing?! What if our son gets hurt!" Madam Zheng scolded her husband for his words.

"I won't be razing the forest but, if we find him, I should beat him to his senses."

"You still want to beat him, huh!?!"

"No, I mean if we find him, then we should guard him so that he won't be missing and protect him so that he won't get hurt."

"Hmp"

Raynier Zheng reached the deepest part of the forest. In his journey, he also found some herbs that can help his cultivation. Now, he is about to breakthrough to Yuan stage. At that time, one of the lock on his soul spell breaks.

"Finally! I should check which part of my memories came back."

He closed his eyes to concentrate on searching when a voice suddenly talked out of nowhere.

"Who are you? Show your self!"

"Goodness! It's just a week passed by over there yet you forgot my voice already?!"

"How come I can communicate with you?"

"Tsk. You're such a loser. It took you a week to reach Yuan stage."

"Hey! This is fast enough over here when the qi here on Earth is not as dense as the lowest grade of cultivational land over there!"

"Hmp. Who cares. By the way the first lock is for you to open the initial stage of your soul power so you still can't retrieve your memories." She said with a smile as if she's mocking him but she really is mocking him.

"Hey old lady!"

"What did you just called me?!"

"I said beautiful lady."

"Glib tongue... oh! Before I forget, you can now use your void ring. And my original self is not totally communicating with you because my main self would not have time to do that. I am just part of her soul sealed over here to guide you."

"Oh?!? I should be able to do that too."

"Right now, you can't. You should focus on getting stronger then when you reach a certain level; you will be able to do it too."

"Why did seal my memories? I know the reason about sealing my soul cultivation but..."

"It is to motivate you and it's also because it's fun. I enjoyed watching your frustrated face. Then, you should quickly reach the mid-level of Yuan stage."

"Argh!"

"..."

"Elethea? Elethea! Eli. El. Thea. Old woman! Oh? ...She made fun of me then, now she's gone already." He said with annoyance in his voice.

"I should check my void ring and see what are the things they have given to me."

He looked inside and saw a lot of valuable materials that he needed for his cultivation. At least his struggles were worth it when he was training, he thought.

When he saw the high grade body forging pills together with the dragon blood, he quickly reached out. However, the dragon blood was blocked by a certain barrier. A warning sign suddenly pops out that he still can't refine the dragon blood because of the powerful pressure, so he needs to get stronger to contain it.

"I should refine my flesh so that it won't get easily damaged. I still don't know if there are strong people in this world. I am being hunted down by some killers out of nowhere, so it's better to take precautions."

He took the body-forging pill in his hand and thought about how many he should be eating. He decided to eat five at once. The rapid absorption of qi flows inside his body and towards his meridians. At first, he could still take it, but as the time went by, the rapid absorption could almost not keep it up. If he fails, it can cause him to burst his meridians and become crippled. The worst scenario would be causing his own death.

His body started to reconstruct. He felt an excruciating pain all over his body. The feeling of being torn apart then rebuilding was something he didn't want to experience again, he thought, as he was about to pass out.
