We Met A Frightening New Monster

They ran for several minutes at face pace. The two of them didn't waste time looking away even for a moment and focused on running away from the school.

Barry doesn't want to use his Gravity Manipulation yet so as not to waste his Magic Power. He will only use it if the situation is urgent.

They decided to turn into a narrow alley and hide behind the shadows of the building to minimize the risk of being discovered.

Even though they both have enough strength to kill zombies, they don't want to take the risk of being overwhelmed by the number of zombies.

Elaine panting then grabbed Barry's shoulder, asking him to stop.

So, Barry stopped his run and turned around. He is also panting but he hasn't thought about stopping yet. Now that he sees Elaine, Barry thinks this might be a good time to stop.

"Okay," Barry said.

Seeing that Barry understood what she meant, Elaine was grateful because she didn't have to waste energy talking.

She sat on the dirty floor and leaned against an equally dirty wall.

Meanwhile, Barry was still standing and turning his head to the right and left. His gaze was still alert.

"What are you going to do next?" Elaine asked.

"I want to immediately go and see my family. My mom and sister must be scared right now," Barry said.

"I see. I also want to go home to see my mom." Elaine stared ahead. Barry could see the worry radiating from her gaze.

"Where is your house?" Barry asked.

Elaine tells Barry her home address. After hearing that, Barry felt a little relief in his heart.

"My address passes the same road," Barry said.

When she heard that, a faint smile and a sigh of relief came out of Elaine's mouth. "That's good. We can still stay together for much longer."

"Yes." Barry nodded. "But, if we walk we will only arrive when night falls."

"We can find a vehicle."

"Yeah, it would be great if someone could drive. Unfortunately, we are both only high school students. I haven't been allowed to learn to drive by my mother."

Elaine grinned. "I can drive a car."

Barry looked over. "You can?"

"Yeah, of course." Elaine nodded with a hint of pride on her face.

Barry smiled hearing the good news. "That's good. Can you walk now?"

Elaine jumped to her feet and said. "Yes."

And so, they continued their journey among the bloodthirsty and mindless zombies. Every now and then they find themselves caught by the zombies.

So, they have no other choice but to fight, kill them, then run before the other zombies come with their hoard.

They still haven't found a car they can use. Most of the cars were in the middle of a crowd of zombies and others were too badly damaged due to accidents.

Finally, after searching for some time they finally saw a car in a safe place.

It was a sedan and parked at the end of the parking lot. Barry leads them there.

When they arrived next to the car the side window had been shattered and there were traces of blood on it, as if the driver had been forced out by a huge force.

Barry glanced around. "It's weird," he said with a frown.

"What?" Elaine asked.

"There are almost no zombies in this place."

Elaine, who heard that, immediately turned her eyes around. Indeed, here there are still some zombies roaming around but there are no hoards, like the situation should be.

"I have a bad feeling," said Elaine, frowning. "Let's get out of here."

They got into the car and found the key in the keyhole and ready to turn. But there are blood stains around the seats as if to indicate that something had dragged the owner of this car before he or she could escape.

Barry, who is now at Level 6, immediately put the 2 attribute points he got after leveling up into Strength, increasing his Strength to 14.

He didn't know if it was strong enough to deal with whatever that pulled the driver of this car. However, Barry has several useful skills in his arsenal that he can use so he's not that worried.

Elaine started driving the car away from this place. They turned onto the main road.

But something fell from above and landed about ten meters in front of them before they got out of the parking lot.

"Shit!" Elaine cursed. She froze with wide eyes. Her hands clutching the steering wheel.

"There it is," Barry said. "We have to kill it before it can get out of here. Are you ready?"

Elaine was silent.

Barry turned his head and found her face so pale it looked like a corpse.

"I-I hate cockroaches," Elaine said with her lips trembling in fear. Her eyes were glued to the giant cockroach standing on two legs in front of them.

Based on what he saw now, Barry felt that Elaine couldn't fight.

"I guess I'll have to deal with it on my own."

Barry looked around him, looking for a weapon that he might be able to use because his dagger was almost destroyed.

He found a gun.

'What luck!'

The cockroach walked towards them like a human. The bloodthirsty expression on his face made Elaine even more frightened.

Barry got out of the car and said. "Stay here. I'll take care of it. Do not leave me."

Elaine didn't answer. So Barry shook his head, deciding to surrender and rely on the hope that Elaine wouldn't leave him.

As soon as he closed the door, the cockroaches who were suddenly near him immediately grabbed the back of his shirt and slammed Barry back.

He was sent flying until he hit the wall and attracted the attention of other zombies in the area.

The cockroach walked closer to him again with long strides.

But Barry got ready, he raised his gun then shot. Even though he had never fired a real gun before, he already knew how to use it, from the movies.

*BANG!*

The gun went off and hit the cockroach's chest even though Barry wanted to hit its head. It turns out, one can not suddenly be able to fire a gun accurately in just one try.

So Barry jumped up and ran. His body didn't feel as painful as it should after being thrown so hard.

The status window or whatever is currently happening in the world is changing his body in ways he doesn't know.

If his body condition is like this, then perhaps Strength being at 14 really makes his body much stronger than an ordinary human body.

No need to think about that now. What he had to do now was kill that weird cockroach.

Barry looked at his gun as he ran.

'Maybe… I can do that with my Gravity Manipulation?'

Barry thought of a plan in his head.
