Starting The Hunting Event

Elaine moved closer to Barry. She said. "I only have a little Magic Power left."

"How many?" Barry asked.

"10."

"Okay. You don't need to send a big lightning attack. Just send the small lightning bolts from afar to erode their health."

Elaine nodded at the instruction. But then she looked at Barry worriedly. "How about you? Are you able to fight five of them alone?"

"With the current condition of my Magic Power it seems like it will be difficult. But Victoria is cooking the potion now and it only takes 30 seconds. After that I can fight better."

The sound of flapping wings was getting closer. Apart from that, the sound of loud screeching also accompanies it. They could clearly see the blood-filled talons and beaks.

"Here they come." Barry stepped forward grasping the hilt of his sword.

Elaine could only stare at Barry's back with worry. But she decided to believe him. After all, Barry has always been trustworthy to handle the situation.

'How the fuck am I going to hold all of them?!'

However, on the other hand Barry felt really worried now. But he knows that if not him, no one else can stand up against those damn birds.

So he charged while mustering courage. The bird arrives above him and with the rest of his Magic Power, Barry lightens his body.

The claws of a bird in front hit the ground where he was standing. But Barry is already on top of it and slashing his sword into its head.

*SRAAATT!*

Those slash landed critically. The bird's head almost split open and it fell to the ground. A notification appeared in his vision.

Even though he was able to kill it, Barry thought that the success of his attack was just luck. The other four birds who had seen what happened to one of them did not make the same decision and attacked Barry with more consideration.

Barry struggled with them for a few seconds relying on the last bit of his Magic Power. His body started to feel weak due to running out of Magic Power.

Luckily, Barry, assisted by Elaine, had stalled enough time for Victoria to finish her potion.

"Barry!" Elaine shouted, calling at him while lifting a Magic potion in her hand.

Barry kicked the mutated bird away then darted towards Elaine. She, who was also busy chugging a bottle for herself, threw the bottle at Barry.

Barry immediately drank the pink liquid as soon as he received it. Instantly he felt the energy inside his body full again. 

As soon as he turned to Victoria, the girl was already cooking another potion. Meanwhile, Anna is also busy killing the zombies that she and Elaine had weakened earlier.

Barry nodded to himself. Afterwards, he darted towards the four remaining birds.

*BLARRR!*

*BLARRR!*

*BLARRR!*

…

Elaine struck three of the birds with her lightning which was much more powerful than before because she had already consumed the potion.

One of the birds that had been seriously injured by Barry's sword collapsed to the ground and died. The experience belongs to Elaine who landed the last hit.

Barry didn't really mind that. He focused on killing the remaining birds.

Barry kicked off the ground and soared over one of the birds. Next, he manipulated the gravity around his sword and threw it downwards, increasing the sword's weight many times over.

The sword pierced the back of one of the birds and penetrated it. The bird let out a screech of pain and fell to the ground.

Barry increased the gravity around his body then shot down and hit the bird's head until it shattered with his feet.

A notification because he succeeded in killing the bird appeared. He also gets an item but Barry ignores it for now.

Now there are only two birds left. The two birds came darting toward him like wild predators. Swooped down from the air.

He has 11 Magic Power right now. And Barry uses half of it to create a gravity shield around his body.

The two birds came crashing at his shield, their beak was broken by the collision. Barry took advantage of this moment to attack.

*SRAATT!*

*SRAATT!*

*SRAATT!*

…

With a few quick slashes, Barry managed to kill one of the two remaining birds. He got the experience.

*BLARRR!!!*

A moment later a huge lightning bolt struck the other one, scorching it instantly. The bird let out a last screech before finally dying.

Barry and Elaine breathed a sigh of relief. Now all the zombies and mutated animals here are gone. They can rest for a moment from this tension.

Barry checked his experience.

[Exp: 135/500]

Even though he actually got quite a lot of exp, Barry wasn't satisfied yet. He still doesn't have much to go to the next level.

'I have to kill stronger monsters.'

There is no other choice but to keep grinding. He and Elaine immediately collected blood from the mutated birds they had just killed and gave it to Victoria.

"I need more water," Victoria said.

Barry rolled his eyes. But he couldn't find any water source. However, Barry is not worried because he is sure it will not be difficult to find water here.

"Let's move now," Barry said to the group.

And then, they moved from that place. Even though it seemed like the situation was becoming more dangerous, Barry still didn't want to call the white light figure back.

They still have to get more experience. There are powerful monsters waiting for them in the real world.
