I'll drive you home

I screamed as I jumped off my bed. I didn't know why I would be having such a terrible dream on my first day. I was beginning to have a very bad feeling about all of this and just hoping that what Cassie said was true because I don't want to see that guy at all.

I got dressed and ready to go to work. I took a bus as it was way cheaper than a taxi. It was an extremely large company but I was directed to the fifteenth floor where I would be working from now on. When I got to the door of my boss's office, I knocked slightly before stepping in.

When I got in, it appeared that my boss wasn't in yet. I couldn't help but look around the office, it was bigger than my entire apartment. I was still admiring the view in front of me when my eyes suddenly went to the name written on the nameplate that was sitting boldly on the table.

'CEO JAMEIL O BRIAN'.

My mouth opened up in shock and I used my hand to cover my mouth. I didn't waste any time recollecting myself and decided to run away before he comes back but just when I was still running towards the door, someone opened it from outside.

I immediately came to a halt and both the man who opened the door and the man I didn't want to see were both staring at me like I was crazy. I bowed my head and apologized.

"I'm very sorry, I believe I came to the wrong office".

I said still bowing my head.

"Miss Zara Michelson"?

I immediately raised my head indicating that it was me.

"I see you arrived very early, make sure this doesn't change".

He said and walked past me while talking to the man who opened the door for him.

"Show the new secretary to her desk and tell her everything she needs to know. I will not have a novice stand beside me".

"Yes sir".

The man said and showed me out. He took me to my desk which was right in front of his office. If the folds were opened, he would be able to see me clearly and I'll be able to see him as well.

'Oh gosh Zara, why did this have to happen to you? Of all people, it just had to be him. Ugh so much for my bad luck'.

I said in my mind as the man continued to show me all the things I needed to know and he also introduced me to the team that works directly with the boss. This team was also on the same floor as the boss. After we were done with the tour, he handed me a tablet that contained all of the bosses' schedules and business orders and he also told me about the conditions I needed to follow while working for this man.

"The boss can be very cold at times but, if you do your job properly, you won't have any issues. The boss likes his coffee black with only two cubes of sugar. Be sure to serve it to him by exactly 8:00 am every day. Also, the boss hates lateness, clumsiness, lack of confidence, and ladies who do not look good. So, make sure to look good every day. There may be times when you would be required to travel with him or go to events with him, make sure you are always on time. Other things, I believe you can learn as you continue to work here".

He said and waved his hand in the air before walking away. It seems like he remembered something else because he turned back.

"Ahh, before I forget. Don't ever fall in love with the boss. You'll be fired".

He finally left and I began to pray that that man would never remember that I told him to be my boyfriend.

I was very nervous for a while but after he called me about two times and didn't seem to recognize me at all, I made up my mind to do my job giving all that I've got. My nervousness decreased by a generous amount and I was able to face him with more confidence.

It was time to close for the day so I went over to his office and knocked.

"Come in".

I went inside and stood a bit distant from his table. Inside his office, there were about three stairs to climb before getting to his table side. I didn't bother climbing the stairs and just said what I had to.

"Sir, it's time to call it a day".

He was wearing a pair of glasses and as soon as I said what I said, he looked away from the document he was working on and looked at me from his glasses.

"What makes you think that"?

"Uhh... I... I thought..."

"It's not time until I say it's time".

He sounded so cold and looked equally the same I simply nodded and went back to my desk. I waited for hours but he didn't come out and I was beginning to feel really sleepy. I decided to rest on my table for a while but I didn't know when I slept so deeply. The next thing I knew, someone was tapping me.

"Huh, huh".

I jumped up from my chair, only to see my boss standing next to me.

"I'm so sorry sir, I didn't know when I slept off. I apologize".

"Go home".

I knew that was what he said but the only thing my brain heard was 'you are fired'.

"Huh? Sir, I'm very sorry, please just give me one more chance and I promise you, this will never happen again".

"What are you talking about"?

"Please don't fire me".

He kept looking at the girl who had obviously forgotten him and he couldn't help but feel she was being really funny. He had been with a lot of girls in the past, and all of them were either begging for his love, wanting to carry his kids, or simply after his money. But this girl, this girl had completely forgotten his face and just wanted to keep her job.

"I'll drive you home".
