Chapter 2 - Trying for a new life

[Knock..tok]

The knocked door repeatedly woke Adelia from her sleep. Her body felt heavy and in pain. She got up from her shoes, realized she didn't have time to get into bed last night, and collapsed as soon as the apartment door was closed.

The chaotic face and the smell of alcohol bravely met a food delivery man with an unsightly look. He wanted to comment on her. She was annoyed by her body's odor and handed over the luggage to him.

Adelia put the package on the kitchen table and went to the bathroom. Seeing the blood running down the sink made her aware of last night's events, removing attached to the body.

A flight attendant brought a glass of warm water and gave it to Adelia.

She sat back down, and the plane landed safely. The foreign air she inhaled was utterly different from where she had lived. She stopped the vehicle and put her luggage in the trunk.

This morning Adelia was at her new workplace. She was already wearing the usual uniform used before.

"Mr. Gerry?" The boy laughed after seeing Adelia's appearance.

"You must be the person Gerry sent here. Ah yes, introduce me, Derry." He rubbed his hands on his jacket and shook hands with Adelia.

Adelia was speechless. She was confused to see the person who dared to enter her manager's workplace. She didn't dare say it.

For a moment, Adelia tried to digest what the word 'he' meant.

"Already." The answer.

"Then you wait in the lobby room here. That person will come down in a moment, and there is no need to introduce himself."

Adelia followed her advice without asking much, accompanying an outstanding assistant manager. She looks busy completing her task. Adelia, tired of the situation there, which felt boring, had no one to talk to her, almost fell asleep on the soft sofa.

"Lady." Again Adelia was awakened at that crucial moment. The woman showed her hand that the person was out and far away. Adelia clumsily followed him from behind.

'He hasn't spoken a word since earlier. At least ask how you were or how you worked before.'

Adelia's hair immediately stood up, finding that the shadow of the man in front of her was dim while she was far away from the reflection. His breath suddenly turned heavy. She couldn't see the face reflected from the human.
