Chapter 76 : Underestimating Us

"Three ninja teams have already been dispatched to confront the ghost army. We are the only ones here to protect Miko-sama," Uchiha Natsu stated casually. As these words hung in the air, a moment of silence enveloped the room. Soon after, the ministers expressed a hint of displeasure.

An older and more experienced minister couldn't withhold his frustration, stating, "The Land of Fire has many ninjas, and we are trade allies. Is this the extent of your support?" Nods from other ministers reflected their dissatisfaction, perceiving the assistance from the Kingdom of Fire as inadequate.

Uchiha Natsu's team, by appearances, did not exude an elite aura. Uzuki Yugao, now a Chunin, was only twelve years old. Shisui, a Jonin, was merely eleven. Despite their titles, they seemed like fresh graduates, lacking extensive mission experience. Uchiha Natsu and Hyuga Rena, although appearing older, were only seventeen or eighteen.

Their team composition raised doubts about their true strength. The small number, compounded by the seemingly inexperienced members, led the ministers to view their support as perfunctory. From their perspective, it seemed the Land of Fire had not taken their plea for help seriously.

Uchiha Natsu, unfazed by the criticism, ignored the ministers and maintained his focus on Miko Miroku. He knew the strength of his team, understanding that, despite their youthful appearance, each member possessed formidable abilities. Uchiha Natsu himself could single-handedly handle the four empowered ninjas threatening the Land of Demons.

In an attempt to silence the ministers, the Priestess, Miroku, spoke in a deep voice, "Shut up. It is not easy for the Land of Fire to send support. They have just experienced war; even if they do not come to support, it is justifiable." Despite her defense, a hint of gloom flashed in Miko's eyes, revealing her disappointment. However, she quickly composed herself, standing up from her kneeling position.

"The ghost army is about to arrive. Everyone, prepare to lead all the people in the city to evacuate," Miko announced, revealing the final plan she had discussed with the ministers. If the Land of Fire's reinforcements proved ineffective, this evacuation plan would be executed. However, the plan had its challenges, requiring the mobilization of a large number of people, with slim chances of survival for ordinary citizens.

After conveying the plan, the priestess apologized once more and turned to Uchiha Natsu, saying, "Please wait a moment, everyone; I will explain the matter first." Miko glanced at the guard on the right and then headed towards a small door behind her. The guard, dressed differently, nodded politely to Uchiha Natsu's team and followed the shrine maiden. The other ministers quickly withdrew from the palace to prepare for the impending events.

In the hall, only Natsu Uchiha and a few others remained, with an ordinary guard left to entertain them. "Hmph, these guys underestimate us," Yugao snorted coldly, disregarding the guards beside her. Initially refraining from speaking due to the presence of Miko, she now expressed her frustration freely.

With just one guard remaining, Uzuki Yugao took matters into her own hands. The guard's attempt to stop her from investigating was met with a frosty response. Uzuki Yugao, despite her young age, demonstrated her strength by swiftly grabbing the guard's wrist, only to withdraw when she considered the potential trouble it could cause Uchiha Natsu.

"Senior Natsu, what should we do?" Shisui asked, seeking guidance from Uchiha Natsu. After a brief moment of thought, Uchiha Natsu remained silent.

"Teacher, I'll go and see what's going on," Uzuki Yugao proposed, raising her foot to follow. However, the guard quickly intervened, explaining that Miko-sama had confidential matters to attend to.

Yugao frowned at the guard's actions but chose not to escalate the situation further. The guard's attempts at humor to defuse the tension fell flat. Meanwhile, Hyuga Rena, using her Byakugan, attempted to peer beyond the small door. Uchiha Natsu intervened, reminding them of the importance of respecting others' privacy.

Behind the small door was a long corridor, with a small yard on the left and orderly arranged room doors on the right. Miko and her chief guard emerged from the small door, and after exchanging glances, entered one of the rooms. Uchiha Natsu, unable to resist his curiosity, used a clone to eavesdrop on the confidential conversation taking place inside.
