Wen Zhihao, the headmaster, was having a regular day so far. He woke up and spent his breakfast with his family, then he headed to his office to work on paperwork like usual. That was until the Zhao family's little miss came in with some of her friends who had just joined the academy two weeks ago if the information he had taken was correct.
At first he was unsure of why they were here, it was then that it hit him that the girl with the veil should have been the one that had protected the Zhao family's little miss during the assassination attempt and had been stabbed by the cursed dagger that they had sealed away. The other girl behind her should be her servant who is also a snake-person. Other than those two was the boy who gave off a very dominating air... with a baby in his arms which shocked and surprised him however he didn't show any of this on his face and only showed that he was calmly appraising them.
'A very mysterious group indeed' is what he thought after he had finished his 'appraisal' of them. The reason for this was that the first girl supposedly came from a clan that had existed from the beginning of humanity on this realm which he was quite skeptical of however he kept his reservations to himself as he does know that there are some hidden clans and sects out there who have survived from that time but he just doesn't know if her clan is truly one of them.
The snake-person was less mysterious as they had been finding some clues regarding who she was but nothing too concrete as there are just too many clans who are of the same species of animal-human hybrid. The only concrete thing that they know is that the first girl, Sarah, had taken her as a maid on her journey to the academy. The clues to her identity is that she is a run-away from one of the many snake-person clans who had unluckliy fallen into the hands of slave traders. Another lead is that she is the sole survivor of one of the slaughtered clans of snake-people who had luckily found a big tree to lie under and enjoy the coolness of the shade.
The boy's identity is just as mysterious as Sarah's however from what they had found, he was from a clan that had been in servitude to her clan since the beginning and he is her bodyguard/fiance candidate. Apart from these tidbits known of them, nothing else is known about them. However if his memory served him right there should have been a fourth member of the group who was also someone serving Sarah however he is not with them today.
The baby should also be a new addition to the group since there was no information showing that they had a baby with them. Of course, there was the possibility that they had hidden the baby if they had a superior hiding ability comapared to their information network however he readily doubted that since the clan she is part of had secluded themselves from the world and had zero contact with the world.
Of course, the headmaster also knows about the little defect of the status balls however they don't let that piece of news known to others below Rank 3 since you would never be able to have an accuarte reading on someone's strength within your organisation which was counter productive since the ranks's would be muddled with those of appropriate strength and those that are weaker yet wanted to show off and gain a higher rank than their strength permits leading to the downfall of tehmselves and the organisation. The reason behind their downfall would be that their ego would inflate and possibly provoke someone stronger than them needlessly whilst the downfall of the organisation would be because thye would have an inaccurate grasp of their own organisation's strength which would make them paranoid about who to send on missions since they wouldn't want to hurt the pride of the strong within their organisation by asking them to prove their strength when they have truthfully shown it leaving a bad impression from the get go.
"Welcome, to what do I owe the pleasure of receiving the Zhao family's little miss." The headmaster greeted them by saying this as a test.
Looking at them he nodded his head on the inside as he noted that their was no change to Sarah's face however he also noticed the look of anger within Tian Long, Huo and Ming'er's eyes. Whilst Tian Long and Huo were more angry since they felt that the headmaster was disregarding Sarah and smacking her face whereas Ming'er was angry at the fact that the headmaster knew that she didn't like it when people called her by using her status in the family instead of her name.
Puffing her cheeks up in annoyance Ming'er turns her head away not giving the headmaster any face. The others were slightly surprised by the lack of respect that Ming'er had shown to the headmaster however they saw that instead of being angry he had a teasing smile on his face that had only shown for a split second before being replaced by an angry serious look.
Wryly smiling at each other they knew that the headmaster was only playing with Ming'er however they wished that he would do it when they weren't here for business.
"Zhao family's little miss, what was with that disrespect you just gave me? If I punished you right now your father wouldn't say a thing as he has given me full responsibility in disciplining you during your stay at the academy." The headmaster said in a deeper tone to intimidate Ming'er.
His attempt at intimidating her worked as although she knew that he father was very loving towards her, he was equally strict with her behaviour since they were from a middle class family that was expected to hold up a certain decorum in the eyes of the lower class people. She shook a little after thinking about the punishments that she might have to go under however she still bravely replied with a little meek whisper, "Y-Your wrong...D-Daddy would never...".
Ming'er tried to say that her father would never let another handle her punsihment however under pressure she couldn't finish her sentence.
Just as Ming'er was about to be pushed over the edge the pressure suddenly disappeared which surprised her. Looking to the headmaster again she saw the grin on his face and immediately felt like punching him however she knew that if she did, nevermind the headmaster, her father would severely punish her which was something she never wanted to experience.
Coughing, Sarah caught the attention of the headmaster and then spoke to him, "Headmaster, although I have indulged in your little play so far, I would like it if we could get down to business.". Although the tone had less respect than the usual students, he didn't mind since she would be used to being around stronger people from her own famliy who would probably kill him if he did anything to her.
Jovially laughing the headmaster replied, "Hahahaha, very well. Am I right in assuming that you are here for me to let you apply to the courses you would like to take part in?".
Instead of the astonishment that he was expecting from her, Sarah only nodded to let him know that he was right. Now that they were down to business he then started asking them what they wanted to take part in
