Tribulation - Day Eight

Waking up Tian Long familiarly makes his way to the kitchen and makes himself some breakfast with tea. Tian Long has been having trouble recently as he has been feeling something was off but couldn't put his finger on it, he felt as if something had happened which warranted his gut to turn on itself to tell him that someone needed him.

At first he just dismissed it however the longer he left it the more worried he became as the feeling in the pit of his gut only became stronger. Tian Long had a nightmare that was so surreal that he thought it was reality however luckily he had woken up to find out that it was only a dream, a nightmare. Impatience gripped Tian Long as the image of Sarah breathing her last became ckearer and clearer in his mind no matter how hard he tried to distract himself.

If only he knew that it wasn't Sarah that needed him.

Absentmindedly finishing his breakfast he walked back down the corridor to check up on Da Lu again as he didn't want anything to happen to her as his only chance at getting the soul cleansing lotus would be gone. In fact not only would he not be able to get the lotus, it would be a question on whether or not he could even leave alive.

'I really don't want to tell Sarah what I had to do to save her, I know she will probab... definitely setest me afterwards. However even if that is the outcome I will still be smiling brightly as I can see her alive and kicking once again. I would rather that scenario than not closing the deal, as not only would I have failed to get the lotus I would have to go back and watch Sarah, the one I love, die in front of my eyes.'

Tian Long had thought thoroughly before accepting the deal however he had no choice as all other scenarios would involve him failing and dying or failing and going back only to watch her die. Yes, there was the possibility that she could fight back out of the curse herself however the chance of this happening is infinitely small that he didn't even consider it.

Looking into the room he sees Da Lu lying on her stomach on the bed with a steady breath while her body adapts to the changes as not only does his blood change the fetus it also affects the mother however it does not bind the mother to him, it only enhances the bloodline (if they are a dragon) and body with some slight soul strengthening properties.

Turning to leave as he had watched Da Lu for a couple minutes to make sure there was no abnormalities however Da Lu suddenly started groaning in pain which alarmed Tian Long. Rushing into the room he used his mental sense (fueled by W) to check Da Lu and the fetus for anything wrong.

Tian Long sighed in relief as he figured out that nothing bad was happening it was only Da Lu breaking through a divine layer.

After the relief came a sudden panic as he knew what breaking through a divine layer meant. Divine Tribulation. Panic flooded Tian Long as he knew that although, as a dragon, Da Lu was likely to survive the tribulation however the fetus itself was another thing. Even though he had fused his blood with the fetus, the fetus in question hadn't finished its metamorphises which meant that it was even more defenceless as it was focusing all of its energy and concentration on the transformation.

The atmosphere suddenly changed into a sky filled with dark thunder clouds with some lightning collecting inside.

"Dammit. Well, let's hope she isn't breaking into a Grade 4 Celstial or higher as my body can handle the tribulation if it is still below however even I'm not confident on taking higher tribulations without perishing.".

In fact taking on the tribulation that he could handle was likely to end up with him severely injured if not near death. Resolving himself he sprinted outside and transformed back into his true form.

"Roooooooaaaaaarrrrrrr" Flying towards the sky Tian Long roared in challenge towards the heavens which triggered the Heaven's.

Angered that someone would dare challenge them the Heaven's started collecting more severe bolts of lightning that were doubled in power from what they should be.

*Boom*

One bolt fell from the Heaven's which Tian Long let hit him as he knew that the sets at the beginning were meant to refine the body however that was only if you were at the specific level required to trigger the tribulation. Of course there were special circumstances such as Tian Long who had a near elemental immunity which was why he was confident in surviving a certain level of tribulations.

Luckily for Tian Long, Da Lu was only breaking through to a Grade 2 Celestial. A massive gash appeared where the lightning hit him which made him wince in pain however he resolved himself to take the hits and make it through this. The wound had electrical energy swimming around it preventing Tian Long's regeneration kicking in. Although the gash was massive, compared to his body it was just a small cut.

Yet again angered that such an ant could withstand their judgement the Heaven's gave Tian Long no rest as they bombarded him with bolts of lightning. Booms continuosly rung out through the course of two hours as Tian Long braved the Heaven's assault.

Exhausted and battered Tian Long resolved himself to face the last set of tribulation. Cuts, gashes and holes littered Tian Long's body. It was only thanks to his gargantuan amount of vitality that he could still be alive. Tian Long had also set aside some of the lighting energy within his body as he could give it to Da Lu and not only strengthen her body and soul but also the fetus'. The energy would also hasten the metamorphises that the fetus was going through.

*Panting SfX*

'Just one more set'

*Boom* (x99)

ninety nine continuos lightning bolts descended from the sky and hit Tian Long wanting him to kneel and acknowledge that he was inferior to them. His blood boiled as if knowing the purpose of the heavens.

"Roooooaaaaaarrrrr"

Letting out a heaven shaking roar as the last bolt descened upon him Tian Long's conciousnes descended into oblivion as he crashed towards the ground.

*Crash SFX*
