How can they all be missing?

"They all went missing at some point? How is that possible?"ask a man that was just a while ago playing with kids.

Shadow takes out his before hidden documents. In the magenta folder he has all missing reports for all supposed gang members.

Man took this document and scanned them with a gradually falling face.

"Oh my God. Why? How?"

Hand on his heart he promised earnestly.

"So first of all I need all of you to introduce yourself to organize my notes in the most comprehensible way."

"Oh my God! Where our manners went. I'm so ashamed."

Younger woman hid her face behind hand, ashamed.

"Well, I'm Alexandra Barry and this is my husband Michael Barry."

She gestures to a few minutes ago, fuming man.

"This is mine and Richard's parents. David Brackson and Sylvia Brackson."

Older pair nodded their heads in greeting.

"And these small rascals are our oldest Maxin and her younger brother Rex."

Kids only look at us with disoriented eyes. It must be a weird day for them. Meeting craploads of unknown people and seeing their parents and grandparents in utter emotional ruine. I feel so bad for them.

"Good. I'm detective Ed Bodry and if you are comfortable with it I would like to record our conversation."

His hand searched the pocket where I previously saw him put his phone from the future. With the corner of my eye I could see him indeed taking out his phone as this thing transforms in his hand to recorder. What the fuck!

He put this thing on the computer desk.

"We are okay with recording," said Michael.

Thankfully he looks much calmer. Shadow face at least today is saved from being pummeled in the ground.

"Great! Okay, so I'm starting to record. Please sit down, I have a lot of questions for you."

They all obediently sit on surfaces available for them witch is bed or floor.

"So please tell me what person Richard was? What did he do professionally? Things like that."

Everyone looks at each other's faces to decide who first will speak on this matter.

Finally they seem to make a decision and Michael starts to talk.

"My brother in law was always a shy and subdued person. It reflected on his choice of work as he worked as IT programer from work. He rarely got out, prevering staying at home and play some online games in his spare time."

His hands clenched in fists so hard his knuckle go white.

"I know what most people think about a person like him. They think he is creepy and weird. But the truth is that I have never met a better person than him. He helped me find a job and showed us how to make us from online courses and get qualifications I wouldn't otherways get. As a daily we could always count on his help. No matter what."

In addition to the recorder Shadow took out a notebook and scribbled something in it.

"His lifestyle really doesn't scream joining the gang and throwing his life away."

"That's what we said in the police station. But no one wanted to listen to us!" Michael got excited again.

He dragged his hand through his face, stretching it horrifyingly. His face gets beat red and eyes bloodshot. With shoulder squared he got into Shadow's face. Just pure unadulterated rage.

"This must clearly show that they have been kidnapped in some larger gang operation. They must have been forced to work for Goblins! Why are the police investigating them like they are criminals! They are the victims too!" he practically yelled in Shadows's face.

To his credit he didn't even flinch.

"Michael, enough!"

Quickly the woman that brought us here dragged away the furious man from the Shadow.

"I know in the station they treated us horribly but this officer came to help us! This might be the last chance to clear Richard's name. We can't waste this opportunity. We just can't." her voice which each word was more saturated with grief.

"Sir, she is telling the truth. I was in the case of Richard being missing and I didn't find him in time."

Shadow hangs his head low to demonstrate his shame.

"Now when I can't save him, at least I want to help you get the truth. Please let me help."

His face shows a look I can only describe as hopeful.

"We will cooperate." says the older man eventually.

Looks like he has final say in the house as other members of the family don't argue with his decision.

For this I and Shadow gave them grateful smiles.

"Great! I promise I will do everything in my power to get to the bottom of this case."

They all obediently sit on surfaces available for them witch is bed or floor.

"So please tell me what person Richard was? What did he do professionally? Things like that."

"I know. I know"

Shadow stretched his hand to pat his shoulder and calm him again.

"That's why today I will hear you out. What I would like to know is did he have any online friends that he may have planned to meet in real life?"

"He had some online friends but he didn't talk a lot about them. Mostly they played together but Richard is a real homebody. He was regularly going out on Fridays but never came back drunk or anything like that. That's why it was so shocking when he went out on Monday and disappeared."

This time the sister of the victim decided to chime in.

"That's interesting. Do you know where he was going on Fridays? And maybe he told you where he was going on the day he went missing?"

Suddenly everyone sank in thoughtful silence.

"He never told me when he was going. When I asked he dodged the question so I stopped asking." said Richard's mother.

"He didn't tell me either."

"Me too."

"He was going to search for the ghosts." all of sudden

nonchalant Maxin just blurted it out.

'She must be joking or fantasizing like kids her age do. I won't be dealing with this paranormal stuff.'

"I'm sorry. My daughter has an active imagination."

"No need to apologize. Maybe her uncle told her something in jest and she took it as a serious matter. It happens."

This seems to offend ghostly looking girl.

"I'm not imagining anything. Uncle showed me even videos from his expedition with his ghost hunters group! They were searching for paranormal stuff! Uncle even told me that a ghost once saved his life!"

Everyone's shocked faces tell me they didn't know about it.

"Can we take a look at what's on Richard's computer?"
