Chapter 6: The Second Dream

[ Edited ]

The carriage headed to the village and, instead of going to the lord's house, it stopped near a very common and ordinary house.

After the hostess got out of the car, the soldiers took her to the stone house.

And then the soldiers, they just stood guard outside.

The butler took Ian, tied the carriage to the hut and told him,

"Except when the weather is bad, we'll send the lady here every one or two days, sometimes for several days in a row."

"When we return, I'll give you the schedule, remember to return to the estate before dawn."

"Follow me first and I'll show you to the soldiers."

"Yes, sir," Ian obediently followed the butler.

The butler introduced him to the soldiers on guard and explained his background, a boy bought from the slums, who had been living on the farm for four years.

"But, Rex, are you sure you want to leave such a small child in charge?" A soldier smoking a cigarette frowned at Ian.

"He's smart, I've put him in charge of the farm's accounting and, what's more, he's obedient." The butler took the cigarette offered by the soldier, took a drag and swallowed the clouds.

"If you say so, I have nothing to say," the soldier smiled, showing his yellowed teeth from smoking.

"Boy, be careful with this place, the lord of this land is here and we have the right to kill any suspect on the spot."

"Well, better not kill anyone, that would be troublesome."

When the soldier finished speaking, he gestured with his hand and walked with the butler towards the center of the town, and Ian thought about which entertainment place they were probably going to have a good time.

Ian didn't rush to talk to the other soldiers that night, but fulfilled his duty, stood in front of the house, and didn't sleep all night.

At dawn, the butler and the head of the soldiers returned.

They seemed to have been drinking, and there was a smell of wine on their bodies, in addition to the smell of women's rouge.

The hostess opened the door and hurried out, her hair slightly messy and her clothes not yet fixed, so she got into the car and looked a bit tired.

After she got into the car, Ian and the butler returned to the farm.

"Let's rest, I'm going again tonight, eat at noon and come to the lady's room in the afternoon to listen to the lesson," the butler yawned.

"Yes, sir," Ian was also very sleepy, the first night he did not dare to sleep and obediently stood up until the butler returned.

He went to the kitchen and asked for bread, went back to his room, lay down on the bed, and asked the cook to wake him at noon.

"Even so. Lord Langley is still in good health, he's at least forty or fifty years old and is really powerful, seems he had action all night."

He yawned, and without taking off his clothes, fell asleep.

Darkness clouded his vision and he heard a confused voice again.

"I'm an adult now! I'm an adult!" It's that dream again.

Ian looked at the girl on the other side of the mirror and smiled happily.

"See you again, Asuka." He waved at the mirror.

"Why are you here again?" Asuka frowned.

"It's really weird to have the same dream for two days."

"Two days, has it only been one day for you?" Ian was surprised.

"It's been more than a month on my side, it seems our flow of time is different."

"Whatever, I'm upset right now, don't talk to me, kid," Asuka turned her face.

"Thanks, I tried the gunpowder formula you taught me last time, it's true, I learned something I didn't know," Ian said.

"Now that I'm in charge of the farm, I get paid and I have three gold coins a month."

"I see," Asuka didn't seem very interested.

Ian scratched his head, not knowing how to deal with the situation, he didn't have much experience with girls.

Maybe he should have left her alone, but he didn't want to waste this hard-earned opportunity.

In his eyes, Asuka is a treasure trove of knowledge, she's a high-performing student, a genius girl, and her IQ is very high.

Ian felt she was his chance and her knowledge turned out to be true, and tried to think carefully about what questions to ask and how to deal with his current situation.

Indeed, there's an important matter that has always worried him about Attack on Titan.

The Founding Titan can see what will happen in the future, so many netizens affectionately call Eren, Director.

Ian, as an outsider, is a variable, he doesn't know if he's also in the Director's script, whether doing something to change the future will get him killed by the future Director somehow.

As the story progresses, the Wall Maria has not yet been breached at this point, so Eren has not yet inherited Attack on Titan from his father.

Ian didn't know how to deal with Eren, so he should pay special attention.

After thinking it over, he decided to ask Asuka what she thought about it.
