Getting hired

Brutus went inside the building and William hesitantly followed behind him. But William had no choice. Brutus was on equal footing with him and he was at the military headquarter. He just hoped that everything would be alright.

Brutus looked for the nearest place to sit and sat down. He gave William a sign to sit too. This extremely confused William, wasn't he getting arrested?? What was going on? But none of those questions could be answered, so he just sat down and looked at Brutus nervously. He really wanted to know what was going on.

„so let me get straight to the point. We know that you assassinated the Stoneguard family, and we're really amazed by your work. We want to hire you as an assassin for the army. We think with your skills assasinating will become easier. You seem really talented in the work of assassination so I hope we can work a lot more together from now on" Brutus said.

William was shocked. He wasn't here to get punished but to get hired. He could've never predicted this, but it seemed like the army was in need of talented assassins or they wouldn't trust a random outsider. „I don't mind working for the army, but I prefer to work alone. I hope you can understand that."

Brutus nodded. He knew that William would accept, or rather William had no choice but to accept. After all he was in the middle of the military headquarter and he was a criminal. His life would be ended if he didn't agree, for William preferring to work alone? Brutus didn't care about that, what was important was that the jobs would be finished.

Brutus stood up, gave William a badge and said „we can always contact you through this badge. Keep it with you. We want to contact you next month for your first mission. I hope that you will be also successful the next time. We have a very powerful target that needs to be assassinated and i hope that you can do the job."

William nodded. He wouldn't be confident if it was this month but after the next month would be perfect. It gave William a chance to cultivate in the other world first, this gave him way more confidence in being able to do the mission.

After talking for a bit longer they say their goodbyes to each other, and William leaves the military headquarter. He walks towards the next inn and buys a room for a few weeks, he wanted to cultivate and train. In the room he takes out the iron ores and starts cultivating with them. He bought a large amount of iron ore to make sure it would be enough.
