"What's up, Erika? What are you doing here?"
"Oh... Big Brother Ryuki."
On the way back from the school, Ryuki came across Erika sitting idly on a bench in a park nestled in the middle of a residential area. It was unusual to see her lost in thought.
"You know, I had a meeting with my homeroom teacher today," Erika said as Ryuki sat down next to her, her gaze distant.
"The teacher asked if I had a clear vision for my future, and I couldn't really give a solid answer…"
"So, you've been thinking about your future ever since?" Ryuki asked.
"Yeah..."
Ryuki understood. Erika would be facing entrance exams next year, and it was about time she started thinking seriously about her future.
"Sigh… What even is the future?"
"I don't think you should overthink it," Ryuki replied.
When someone starts questioning the meaning of the future itself, they're already in deep.
