The Land of Hot Water is located to the northeast of the Land of Fire. It is a country that has developed its tourism industry by leveraging its abundant hot spring resources.
The village of Yugakure, affiliated with the Land of Hot Water, is known as "the village that forgot wars," and it is considered the weakest among the small ninja villages in the ninja world.
In this beautiful and peaceful country, a group of ninjas who always longed for war were seduced by the evil god and secretly developed a dark and evil cult known as the Jashin Cult.
With Seimei's seemingly omniscient intelligence support, Kaito entered the Land of Hot Water and headed straight for the hidden headquarters of the Jashin Cult.
Gurē spread its wings and hovered in the air while Kaito, Izuna, and Chiri jumped down directly.
"Who are you?"
"We have intruders!"
The three of them brazenly attacked, immediately attracting the attention of two squads of guards at the gate.
Izuna took the lead, forming hand seals mid-air.
"Fire Style: Great Fireball Technique!"
A massive fireball descended from the sky, targeting the gate guards.
The guards, not being very strong, panicked and, unable to dodge in time, four of them were instantly incinerated.
Kaito and Chiri drew their swords, and with swift strikes, they easily dispatched the remaining two guards.
Kaito then kicked open the gate, and Chiri simultaneously unleashed a jutsu.
Using the same Great Fireball Technique as Izuna, Chiri accurately hit several ninjas ambushing behind the gate.
"Let's go."
Kaito stepped inside.
Relying on his powerful sensory abilities, the three of them took the initiative, easily dealing with the guards, who were at most Chunin level, and quickly reached the entrance to the second underground level.
"Water Style: Water Whip!"
"Lightning Style: Ground Walk!"
Two black-robed men ambushed at the entrance, seemingly stronger than the first level guards.
But their strength was limited. The three evaded the attacks, and Izuna easily slit their throats with his Sharingan genjutsu and swordsmanship.
"Hmm? They don't seem dead?" Kaito raised an eyebrow.
Although the two were not immediately dead, they were severely weakened. Kaito and Chiri then finished them off by stabbing their hearts.
"It seems Hidan is indeed a rare talent in the Jashin Cult," Kaito commented, flicking the blood off his sword. "I wonder if there are others here of his level."
"That level should be extremely rare," Chiri replied.
"Let's go take a look," Izuna said, leading the way to the second level.
By this time, the ninjas inside the base were aware of the intrusion and were rushing to the entrance from the depths of the underground structure.
Kaito noticed that the ninjas of Yugakure were indeed weak; even those capable of using a few jutsus were rare.
Their immortality was also far inferior to Hidan's. Although stronger than ordinary people, they would still die if their heads or hearts were damaged.
The three of them did not take the battle seriously, easily cutting down the enemies as they moved deeper into the base.
Kaito felt something was off. As the strongest of the four demons, should the Jashin god be so unimpressive?
"Hold on a moment, seniors." He knelt down, touching the ground with two fingers. "Let me sense the area carefully."
Closing his eyes, he expanded his sensory range using his connection with the Dragon Vein.
Izuna and Chiri guarded him from the front and back.
The entire underground base had four levels. The first two were nearly cleared out, with only a few people hiding in remote corners.
The third level had several laboratories and a number of non-combat staff.
About fifty combat personnel were currently gathered at the entrance to the third level.
The fourth level was the tallest, featuring a large temple built into a natural cave.
The temple was nearly empty, except for three black-robed figures kneeling reverently before a tall black statue in the main hall.
When Kaito's sensory tendrils touched the eerie black statue, they were immediately severed.
At the same time, a malevolent aura began to rapidly approach Kaito through his sensory link.
Kaito opened his eyes, the pentagrams in his Sharingan spinning rapidly. A vast amount of spiritual energy surged out, clashing with the incoming malevolent aura.
A silent mental battle ensued. Izuna and Chiri, both possessing the Mangekyo Sharingan, sensed something was amiss.
"Ugh..." Kaito stood up, feeling dizzy. He rubbed his temples and took a few seconds to recover.
"Kaito, what happened? Are you okay?" Chiri asked worriedly.
"I'm fine," Kaito waved it off. "I just had a brief clash with the Jashin."
He recounted what he had sensed and his mental confrontation with the Jashin.
"It seems the Jashin is indeed the most powerful of the four demons," he concluded, continuing forward. "At least his spiritual power is stronger than mine."
"What do you plan to do?" Izuna asked.
"Let's give it a try first," Kaito said with a sly smile. "If it doesn't work out, we'll have to call for reinforcements."
"You mean... that person?" Chiri was surprised. "Are you sure they would intervene personally?"
Kaito thought for a moment. "Since it's their task for me, if I can't handle it, I believe they wouldn't mind lending a hand."
"Hmph," Izuna scoffed. "Since it's a test from them, you'd better handle it yourself!"
"I understand, Izuna-senpai," Kaito replied with a smile. "To save my strength for the final battle, how about you take care of the third level?"
"Stop pretending!"
Izuna seemed irritated, speeding towards the third underground level.
"I'll go help too."
Chiri drew his second blade and followed Izuna.
By the time Kaito leisurely reached the third level, he found that the two seniors had already activated their Curse Mark modes. With their Mangekyo Sharingan active and their skilled Uchiha sword techniques, they swiftly cut through the enemies.
Blood splattered and fire danced as they efficiently dispatched the Jashin followers.
Although the third level's followers had slightly better immortality, they were still far from Hidan's level.
At least, these people would die if decapitated.
Among the Jashin followers, there were a few with Jōnin-level skills, but they failed to mount any significant attack.
They could only flee in panic, watching their numbers dwindle with growing fear.
