Extinction (2)

Swoosh!

A substance or object several meters long that deflected any light rushed toward the petite prime immortal cultivator. Though it wasn't an attack that marked instant death, a natural suppression appeared from the depths of her soul.

Of course, in the face of a much higher level element, the prime immortals would be suppressed but it wasn't to an exaggerated degree as her figure turned into a blur, dodging this object that deflected light as it submerged into the surface of the earth below.

There wasn't any sound as it collided with the earth. No explosion or shockwave as it went straight through as if it didn't exist. Standing in the skies, Oblivion calmly rested his katana on his shoulder as if the battle had concluded.

Seeing this, the petite prime immortal adorned a confused expression.

"What makes you think you can be so relaxed... Creator?" The petite lady asked as her figure appeared within striking distance.

Puchi!

"W-What...?!"

Blood sprayed in the air as a wound suddenly appeared running across her thigh. Yelping in astonishment, she watched on as the blood that sprayed out of her wound all disappeared as if it didn't exist.

"Hmm, I haven't perfected this technique at all." Oblivion mumbled. With his fingers on his chin, he nodded and shook his head as the petite girl in front of him created a distance. Though this was never a problem before, for some reason, her wound wasn't healing.

As an immortal cultivator, especially a prime immortal, wounds would normally and should normally heal as quickly as they appeared. For this wound to refuse to heal, confused her... But not as much as how it even appeared in the first place.

"How!"

Staring toward Oblivion, she couldn't help but ask. He was the most mysterious being she had ever come across. Though, it was to be expected from the being who created everything she knew. This being was bound to be filled with several mysteries.

"Oh, you can still retain calmness..." Oblivion smirked. "Well, I am still not that good at using this technique and you can easily function without a leg so you sense no danger."

"Technique... You used a technique...?" Though she didn't sense anything, the prime immortal didn't intend to remain surprised for long anyway so even though she said it like this, appearing in a combat stance, her figure blurred.

Bam!

Her gentle-looking pale left palm landed on Oblivion's abdomen. But, this wasn't the end as she showcased an insurmountable speed and appeared behind Oblivion, sending another palm strike that landed on his back.

Argh!

Oblivion was sent hurdling as he groaned in pain. His figure turned into several afterimages due to how fast he traveled as he crossed thousands of miles almost instantly, passing a group of prime immortals and also a gathering of golden immortals that included Dawn and the others.

Boom!

Crashing into a tree, and then another... Oblivion entered a forest as his figure finally came to a halt, only at the expense of tens of large trees that spanned thousands of meters into the skies and radiated an immeasurable aura of life.

These trees began regenerating themselves but such a fact was instantly canceled as Oblivion stood to his feet. His eyes turned cold and his expression aloof as he perceived the incoming prime immortal opponent.

"Nihility... Open..."

Thrum!

A change occurred. Well, at least, one would think like this. But, truly, it seemed like nothing changed besides the sudden silence that descended. The prime immortal came to a halt as an aghast expression surfaced on her face.

The hundreds of lucky individuals who had remained alive were silent. Whether it was intentional or not, no one knew. Literally... It was as if their thinking was blocked. Those who could resist this unknown force were few and far between.

Even then, they could barely resist. On their faces was an expression of confusion. Utter and true skepticism plagued their minds like a virus attacking the body. Was it what Oblivion had just said, did that have anything to do with the current situation...?

But, such a thing should be impossible... right? After all, Oblivion, even if he was the creator, was currently a mere Golden Immortal. Not even a Pseudo Prime Immortal...

No, a full-fledged Golden Immortal yet he had rejected concepts like having thoughts to a point where even most Prime Immortals couldn't gather the ability to think for themselves.

Effectively, Oblivion turned them into vegetables even though they were practitioners of the art of cultivation that forcefully raised one from a mortal to something beyond. They instantly returned to mortality...!

"Didn't... I didn't want to use this but I haven't mastered the sword art yet. The previous ones would be useless in the face of a Prime Immortal and this one will use all of my energy. I still have quite a bit of battle to go so I've got no choice but to swiftly make quick work of you, little girl."

Oblivion waved his sword through the air, easily detaching the prime immortal's head from her neck as this body exploded in an instant into a bloody pulp. The skies crackled with lightning and thunder as Oblivion loosened the grip he held on the long katana in his hand.

"About time..."

Snickering, Oblivion observed as the katana made its way mid-air, devouring the corpse of the prime immortal almost in an instant.

These actions didn't sit well with some of the stronger prime immortals who were able to resist Oblivion's technique somewhat but Oblivion didn't care... Not at all.

"Let's see what interesting things will happen this time after it has broken into the level of a True Treasure."

Beings at the level of Prime Immortals contain an incredible amount of sage and atomic energy with atomic energy soo powerful that unless one has a treasure at least at the level of a True Treasure, it'll explode.

Though, Oblivion's katana was a little different. It was capable of wielding power capable of harming a Prime Immortal. This was a fact that would normally shock others. Though once knowing his identity, it wouldn't be all that shocking.

While a lightning bolt prepared to descend onto the three-meter-long katana, Oblivion, with his hands crossed across his chest, took a step.

With one step, his figure blurred, and with his attention toward the Prime Immortals forcefully gathered a distance away, Oblivion appeared in front of the group...

At this time, wherever he stepped would crack. It was as if his every action broke down the concepts that made up the laws around him. The very space formed a glass-like crack visible to the naked eye.

This was a realm created by a True Immortal. The only reason these events were taking place was solely due to how close Oblivion was.

With the previous annihilation, Oblivion was drawing closer and closer to entering the Prime Immortal realm where something beyond beautiful would be bound to happen... An inevitable evolution of soul, body, and abilities would take place.

As of now though, Oblivion appeared in front of the beings who would make it happen. Though not willingly, their existence was meant and destined to be used as a resource yet they knew not of such and saw this opportunity to oppose Oblivion as their final chance at freedom!
