Chapter 9: First Fight As Spider Man

After spending hours practicing my Spider-Man skills, I was tired but excited. Then, out of nowhere, I heard a sound – "ding!" It was the system telling me I finished a task.

The message said, "Congratulations, you completed the quest, host!" It made me feel proud and happy.

The AI System promptly replied, "With your training now complete, it's time to apply your newfound skills in real-world scenarios, host."

Tutorial Quest:

Engage in combat with a low-level criminal during daytime.

Reward:

Earn 5000 shop points

Additional Reward:

Unlock access to the Shop, where you can purchase various items and upgrades to enhance your abilities as Spider-Man.

100 experience points

"What do you mean, now, system? I still have to do this quest?" I exclaimed, feeling exhaustion.

"What time is it now, system?" I inquired after hours of training, feeling the fatigue weighing me down.

"Host, it's 4 PM in the afternoon," the system responded promptly.

Realizing it was already 4 PM, I couldn't believe how long I had been training. Sure, I took breaks to eat offscreen, but the fact that I had been pushing myself for so long explained why I was feeling so tired.Considering the time and my exhaustion, I couldn't help but feel a bit frustrated with myself.

"Ugh, I can't believe I messed up my calculations." Even though I've got great endurance, my stamina was still only average at 10. So, despite being able to endure a lot, I'm still feeling wiped out. But hey,I can't be bitching. After all, I still have a quest to do."

"System, you know that I have the 100 experience reward, right? Because I already completed my training. So, can I add that 100 experience to my stamina attribute? After all, my stamina is only at 10. So if I add that 100 experience, then my stamina will increase to 20," I said, my voice betraying my exhaustion from the grueling training session.

The system processed my request before responding, "Affirmative, host. Your stamina attribute has been increased to 20."

Feeling relieved and empowered by the system's flexibility, I felt a wave of gratitude wash over me. It was as if a burden had been lifted, knowing that I now had the stamina needed to face whatever challenges lay ahead. I couldn't help but smile.

"Alright, let's get this show on the road then, system," I said. "But hey, before we start, can I add a little dramatic things?"

The Ai System responded, "What do you have in mind, host?"

Grinning mischievously, I explained, "I want to say 'hero on' to activate my costume, and when I'm done, I'll say 'hero off' to make it disappear. You know, for that extra superhero effect."

The system quickly understood what I wanted and said, "Okay, host. I can implement that feature for you."

"Awesome!" I exclaimed, feeling a surge of excitement. "Alright, let's do this. Hero on!"

In an instant, my Spider-Man costume materialized around me, fitting snugly and ready for action.

"Hey, system," I said with a chuckle, "do you happen to have a mirror in your function? I mean, I'd love to take a look at myself. After all, this is the costume I designed. Well, not technically 'designed,' but I did sketch it out and upload it into the Spider-Man system. Anyway, the point is, I'm curious to see what I look like."

I couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation. Here I was, in the middle of a secluded forest, asking an AI system for a mirror. Talk about being prepared.

The system responded in its usual prompt manner, "Apologies, host. There are no mirrors available in the system not yet."

"Well, that's a shame," I replied, still grinning. "Guess I'll just have to trust that I look as awesome as I imagined. Hero mode on" With a newfound sense of determination, I headed out to face some minor villain.

Just as I was about to swing towards the city to complete my quest, I spotted a woman in a knee-length dress with gloves, scarves, and shoes with lower heels – the epitome of 1940s fashion. And then, there he was, a guy harassing her, fitting the stereotype of a typical rich guy from that era, with his long brown hair. This all happened in the forest, not far from the city.

"Welp, that's to be expected," I thought to myself with a wry smile, "after all, it's still the 1947 timeline." It was as if I had been transported back in time, witnessing a scene straight out of a classic noir film.

Seeing the situation unfold before me, I couldn't just swing past and ignore it.

As I swung towards the scene, the woman in trouble and the guy bothering her stopped dead in their tracks when they saw me in my Spider-Man outfit. The guy looked really surprised by my sudden appearance.

" Who the heck are you, and what's with the getup?" he blurted out, clearly confused by my outfit.

With a smirk, I landed in front of him, standing tall. "Looks like you've got it all wrong. This isn't just any costume. It's my superhero suit, and soon, everyone will know who Iam."

"For your question about who am I," I said, smirking, "I am Spider-Man."

He laughed and said, "What are you gonna do, web me up like a little spider?" his voice echoing through the trees in the forest.

Ignoring his teasing, I just smirked. "Yep, Something like that," I said coolly. Then, I quickly shot him With a flick of my wrist and punched him, making him lose his balance.

"Grr, you!!" he managed to grunt out before I swiftly zapped his mouth shut with webbing, rendering him unable to talk or move.

With a playful grin, I teased, "Awh, You look like a baby now"

As the guy struggled against the webbing, the woman he had been harassing looked at me with a mixture of relief and awe. "Thank you so much," she said, her voice trembling slightly.

I gave her a reassuring smile. "No problem at all, So Umm, Why are you in this situation?" I asked.

The woman's voice trembled slightly as she recounted the terrifying encounter. "He... He was... he was trying to... to..." She struggled to find the words, her eyes welling up with tears.

"It's okay, take your time," I said gently, trying to reassure her as she gathered herself.

"He was my friend... or, he used to be," she finally managed to say, her voice barely above a whisper. "His name is Clark. We came out here to enjoy a hike together, but then... then he... he tried to... to..." Her voice trailed off, unable to articulate the horrors she had almost faced. Her voice went quiet, finding it hard to explain the terrible things she nearly went through.

I felt a surge of anger and disgust at the thought of someone betraying their friend in such a heinous way. "Don't worry, Ma'am," I said firmly. "He won't be able to hurt you anymore. I've got him all tied up now."

She let out a shaky breath, feeling relieved. "Again,.....Thank you," she whispered, her voice barely heard over the forest noises.

"Alright, don't worry, he can't move now because of my web," I reassured her. "But I think it's best if we get you to safety first."

Gently, I lifted her up and held her in my arms also before leaving, I swiftly zapped the criminal in the back with a web, ensuring he couldn't escape. With him securely webbed up, I carried him with me. After that I swung through the trees, heading towards the city. When we got to a safe spot downtown, I gently put her down, making sure she could stand properly before going back to deal with the guy I caught.

"Ok ma'am, make sure you call the police, okay? Report that scumbag guy on what he did to you," I urged, making sure she understood the importance of taking action.

She nodded, her eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you so much for your help," she said softly, her voice shaky with emotion.

With a reassuring smile, I replied, "Anytime. Just take care of yourself, okay?"

As I turned to leave, she called out, "Wait, what's your name again?"

I couldn't help but grin at her curiosity. "I'm your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man," I replied with a wink before swinging away.

"Now it's your turn," I said firmly to the guy, who was still stuck in my webbing. Then, I lifted him up and put him over my shoulder, like carrying a heavy bag.

As I swung towards the nearest police station, the guy squirmed and struggled against the webbing, but to no avail. He was going nowhere until the cops came to pick him up.

Arriving at the empty police station, I gently set the guy down on the steps, ensuring he couldn't escape. Then, I quickly wrote a note:

"To the Police,

I caught this guy harassing a woman in the forest. He won't be causing any more trouble, but I thought you might want to have a chat with him.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man"

Placing the note next to the guy, I turned away and swung off.

As I swung through the city, a notification from the Spider-Man System chimed, reminding me of my quest completion.

"Ding! Congratulations, host. You have successfully completed another tutorial quest," the system announced.

"Sweet!" I exclaimed, feeling a rush of excitement at the thought of my rewards. "Let's see what I've earned."

To be Continued.
